Imagine last 3 transacted price is : $747K, $740K, $820K ... :jawdrop: For those new estate, seriously there isn't any recess area that you can buy, the door is like just 1 ft away from the corridor. Hence don't have any spare area to buy.. At least for those old estate, where there are recess area, they still allows home owner to apply to purchase. The EA below my stack, the Recess area they can buy is about the size of 1 of my bed room (and he did purchase it. Shiok shiok shiok) !! !! !! :jawdrop:

Still considering. Very high chance will do vinyl in bedroom and utility room. I like those woody and soft feeling in bedrooms. As for living & dining, pending, cause the 1st draft 3D drawing, dam scary. Draw until the house like landed property like that. Yup yup. Kind of same here, for my reno, we have some direction, key pointers, than I go do design (using floorplanner, really a great foc software), did 3 version. concern about the cost of reno, open concept, etc etc. Eventually finalize with my wife. Now hacking started, we go down everynight to view the progress and also walk through the design & lay-out on actual scale (i always have my printed floor plan/layout & measuring tape with me). As things comes, we alter our design, lay-out etc. At least at the end, we both like what is going to be done. Our plan is to stay there for at least 10 years (till my last one finish Pri School). :sport-smiley-004:

Hi yhliang & Haleary, Congrats on your key collection tomorrow ; ) and all the best in your reno ; ) A little to share. If you are not planning to change flooring, don't hack any wall, if the previous flooring base cement is not good enough, it might pop (happens to me, now have to increase my budget about 10K to hack + cement screed + either tiles / laminates / vinyl, the bigger the floor space, the more it cost. :bangwall: ). As for kids, especially these ages, best not to have build-in wardrobe, study table etc. (cause dressing senses will change and the need of wardrobe configuration will change also, so buying those ready ones are much easier if need to replace in future.) For mine, they switch from folding cloths to more hanging dresses, then in future, they will slowly fight for more wardrobe space. ; p (I will have this challenge in near future... ; p ) That's why for me, my wardrobe are from Ikea, I like the flexibility of changing configuration as and when i like. For build-in, very difficult or impossible.

DAY 5, 21st May, Mon Today, working still doing cement screed for Both bathroom and kitchen wall + floor. Think by tonight, more will be done. Think today, they might start doing some tiling work in both bathroom. We have already finalize the way to place the tiles (2 type) for both bathroom. As hacking of 3 x bedroom, utility, dining & living room are unplanned, have applied permit for these hacking, so hacking work can only start on Thursday. So these few days, nothing much will happen. Next will be working with the designer to draw 3D drawing for my place as there are some changes to the kitchen. Next, what flooring to do for Dining, Living, walkway between Living & dining, 3 X bedroom ??? :( :unsure:

My MIL place actually also not bad, Bedok South also, 4 room. and it is those no common corridor type. So the lift serves only 2 unit. I can buy over the facing unit, than shiok, double 4 room. Have the privacy + opposite MIL. Super good. But my neighbor (think is relative or siblings) have 2 other unit in the same block, so don't think they will ever sell. Actually I was very surprise, this block, there are many families have extended families staying in the same block. You will always see them going up or down to other unit for dinner, gathering, etc etc.

Yup. Will plan some area for kids to 'decorate' the wall. ; p Wah, nice. My selection criteria is very challenging. As 2 of my kids already studying in Temasek Pri, my KEY objective is to find a place really convenient for them to go school (bus ride is ok, but best don't need to change bus). Need to have at least 3 bed room, a place for 4 kids to study at the same time. Enough room to place 2 X computer. Think I did come across a Jumbo Flat in Bedok South, but within few days, it was SOLD :jawdrop: And I check HDB website, think most are around Bedok north area, so not so good for me.

Oic. Good idea. Never thought of that. But my unit have many pillar, can't hack, so might be difficult to convert to have more bedroom. Decal, thinking but don't know what I want. ; p But we are considering letting them draw on 1 of the wall. If it looks nice, maybe let them draw more ; p

Oh! Okie. Will redo. Feeling paisay as neighbor will have to endure few more days of hacking. He's understanding and is already helping in keeping the Reno cost down. Will work things out. Lucky we have keep things simple. Else really big headache. Oh, my kids still young lar, 9,8,6,2. G,B,G,G. Have been sharing with them since they are younger that not possible to have their own room.
