For LAN, I will configure security/control directly on the Router. That will be harder to crack. If they do crack, easy lar, put the router in her room, just switch it off, than no more internet access ; p If they don't listen, remove the access to the computer as well... That's why for me, the computer & study will be in the Dining area. Where at least the PC faces out, they can't really hid in the room & do hanky panky stuff.. :sport-smiley-004:

Oh... like that ar. Then when doing electrical work, say if you have 2 X double for your TV area supply, get them to split both Double to 2 different CU. So that it can take more load. If you have power Amp, Pre Amp, DVD player, media box, Surround Processor, etc etc, Say you have 4 X double, than at least split these 4 double to 2 or 3 or 4 CU so that the load don't goes to a single point. For me, I have 2 X double at TV area, they will be split to 2 separate CU so that supply are more constant and minimise surge returning to the audio system. So for me, all TV, router, cable box, etc will use 1 X double, all Audio equipment will use another double. Saw this when I was googling something : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1243139/all Scary !!!

Wow nice.. ; ) Yup, actually OSL is just few block beside my office. Went there liao. The list price is good (comparable to lighting.com.sg). Not too sure how long have they started, the range is not as wide as those in Balestier or Gaylang, but to me, pretty enough. For Lighting.com.sg, they advertise that all their "OUR PLL CEILING LAMP WAS UPGRADED TO OSRAM ELECTRONIC BALLAST WHICH IS LONGER LASTING AND FLICKER FREE". For other shop, some still using non-electronic ballast. Operating in the hotel room ... .. . For me I will go to the cafe, have a nice cappa & scones... :dribble: (grrr.. grrrp...grrrrrpp.... hungry liao :dribble: ) If sun is good, afternoon have a swim, than work beside the pool... maybe + a beer :yamseng: :drunk: Soooo shiok... LOL

LAN in entertainment room a must. Those media box (stream movies from internet) only cost $1xx - $3xx (depends on specs). All movies, drama, etc all FOC. That's why now a days, everyone want a LAN line. When using LAN, you don't have to set SSID/password etc. Plug & go. With WiFi, everytime you change SSID/Password, you have to start changing all the rest of equipment, very troublesome lar. Also LAN more stable, for WiFi, occasionally the signal can drop to zero for like that 0.5 seconds, and re-connection takes another 2-3 seconds, very disturbing lar. For my children PC, they login using their Profile. I install norton online family, its free. You can monitor their surfing and web access & set the control you want. But for LLChing, her kids so big liao, don't need lar. ; p

Just measure your cabinet hole size that place your oven, when purchasing new oven, just inform seller lor. At least if really that model so special size, cannot fit, can ask for refund or replacement of model since they are the one assuring that it can fit. All the best in hunting for your next oven ; ) -
Lets all pray... Yesterday did water proofing... mmm.. . . drip... .. . drip... .. . drip... .. . (XX XX, keeping my finger cross.... )

DAY 13, 30th May, Wed Slow day. (due to heavy labour intensive tiles grinding work) MBR washroom water proofing done. Waiting for it to dry (think will take 1-2 days ba). Common washroom wall, 80% done. Saw the tiles around the pipe, pretty impressed, the tiler have cut the tiles such that the gap between the pipe is very narrow. I'm impressed. My Toilet are not those flat flat one. If you look at the left wall, on top, there are beam, bottom, a ledge (for don't know what reason, can't hack off as its solid block), wall from entrance also have a top beam, so tiling work got to do extra cut & grinning. :furious: !! !! !! extra extra work
-
For old house, (mine 26 years), common for ceiling to fall off in patches. So with all the hacking, the unit directly below eventually have some that fall off (I have not seen the damanges, but when the owner speaks to the hacker, he called ID and ID promise to patch it up for them.) According to ID, its common for old flat and its ok, when we reach the stage of doing those patching work, just drop by with some of those cement and patch for them lor. Then when painting time, just help them touch-up lor. Actually ok lar, better to build a good neighbor relationship rather than having them complain to HDB and cause all problem. P.S. ID shared that he even kanna before that 1 level down, 3 unit away, complain that their hacking have cause such great vibration that their tile & wall have crack lines !!! :furious: Don't know how true, but he manage to settle it. :dribble: Was chatting with my hacker once and he shared, after hacking the floor, water proofing all gone, hence they will make sure not to pour water on the naked concrete. Too much water, it will seep through and cause problem. That day they unload 2nd batch of sand, it started raining, what the hacker does is to make sure they laid plastic sheet on the naked concrete before putting the sand, so that minimum water gets seep through the concrete floor to downstairs ceiling. They also use huge plastic sheets to cover the sand to minimize getting the sand too wet (which will further increase the weight of the sand and also later cementing work.) Actually I learn a lot from this reno work ; ) More to come :dribble:

:sport-smiley-004: I got Dell desktop, to select Wifi means need to top up LoL... so for me no wifi ;p That's why I do LAN easier, everytime they switch on PC means auto on internet.
-
Ai ya, your house lay-out very perfect, won't have issue with WiFi. For me a little challenge, currently on 1 Desk-top, by next year, will need to get 1 more. (maybe 2 more) (Kids have more and more online homework !!!) & typical Desktop don't comes with Wifi & I would prefer LAN as it is easier, don't have to worry if wifi don't log-in and need to re-do for kids. so think might need to pull just 1 A-B point ba. Got to crack my head to map liao... :bangwall:

Same, I have this worries too. But after checking, found that in Singapore, the hole that carpenter build will be a Standard hole size, and the variance of the wall-mount oven that Singapore approved to bring in are within the standard range, so the variation of the size won't post any issue (unless you ship in a new model yourself and the size is out.) (Shops told me that Singapore have standardized the oven size in SG) -
DAY 12, 29th May, Tue Not bad. Day 12 done-up the main flat wall of both bathroom and left only those corners & top horizontal beam that need to 'kio' sui sui. Which is the ultra time consuming part and a lot of work is required to do a sui sui job. :sport-smiley-004: I would say good progress and good tilemanship :dancingqueen: Last night, downstairs neighbor walk pass, told me that hacking work have caused some damages to his ceiling. They have already spoken to Andrew over the phone and they just want to make sure we help them patch it up. Will share some photo when it is fully completed ; )
-
Yup. Now that I have false ceiling at some area, some of my wiring trunking will be hidden and I will never have access to it in future. So can't even open it up to add in. Will have to think through where to place my Opennet box liao, than can plan if I need to pull A-B point Cat6.
-
Actually pretty bright one, but after changing to granite top, become dark. Oh. Will take note and talk to them. But hopefully I can get a good quote from Ah Soon.
-
Yup yup... Like that also better, cause there will be places that he might advice otherwise from his experience. Busy busy week for me. siong siong...

Kitchen from the other side ; p Same thing, just imagine without the hood & include a wall on the right will do.
-
3D drawing of my Kitchen from living room walkway view. 2 mistake here : hood shouldn't be there & the ID have remove the wall on the right side of the window where the hood is. the rest is almost there. ; ) Enjoy and feel free to commend ; )
-
I very sui one, most of the time I will map out in my floor plan and give it to anyone who need to provide me quote, so that he/she don't miss out anything ; p

Just sharing. I'm using StoreHub @ Toa Payoh. How it works is very simple, rent according to the size you need, bring your own padlock. ZERO access other than via opening your padlock. So unless kanna break-in, else don't really think things will get lost. (they have CCTV everywhere, so many of them). But hor, if kanna 小强 or RAT makan your item than bo bian liao lor. But so far, have been putting my stuff there for 3+ months liao, no prob. By next month, when my reno done, should retrieve and close it. ; )
-
Ay, this one will only show photo at the very end. Quality work must wait :sport-smiley-004: Some might notice the difference, some might not. But personally, that's important (even at the expense of longer installation time). :sport-smiley-004:
-
Already make an appt with Ah Soon tomorrow night to walk through. Hopefully can give me a good quote.
-
Last night went up view the MBR bathroom. Partially done. Why so long :sport-smiley-004: Quality work takes time mar... a lot of grinning work, hence super labor intensive. :dribble: Very impressed with the workmanship so far.
-
Ya lor, after seeing the quote, I have drop the idea of doing network point liao. Will DIY in future since it is not really a necessity at this point in time. Buying Cat6 cable & the connector box is much much cheaper than letting make soooooo much lor. Even SCV point, I DIY, at least I know the quality of SCV cable I purchase. Coaxial cable really have too many different quality liao, really won't know what kind they used for our house. Will go compare quotes ; p

Thanks jass2112, can pm me his number ; ) Will be good to talk to a few. Cause I have some special requirement since for mine, after my previous owner purchase the recess area, they have to re-locate the main meter & water meter OUT of the recess area causing a huge mess of wiring. So would like a good electrician to check if can clean-up all those mess. Hey MamaO, no worries, T-Blog are for everyone to chat and share and understand. Since I learn a lot from people who did their T-Blog, I put up my share as well.
-
Oh. Now I recall. They have up the price liao. Think just up not long ago. So both LLChing and myself are getting the new & more expensive price list.
