  1. I was wondering, for all those people who hack everything and replacing everything, most of those lighting looks good condition (especially they are just fixed up there & no one will touch unless change bulb), can it be donated to charaity or give to Salvation Army or any organization can collect and send overseas to those poor places that have electrical supply but don't have much $$$ to buy lighting ? Really feel a waste when all those good condition lighting & fixtures just go into dumping ground like that. :sport-smiley-018:
  2. Island is what I like, but other things also. If I have the budget, I would have do a lot more. But for now, I think kitchen is the most important and for the rest, if next time got budget, can do up somemore. ; ) :sport-smiley-004:

  5. Thanks thanks May, extremely fruitful evening visiting your place ; ) It really give me a good perspective of my lay-out (almost in REAL LIFE SIZE) :sport-smiley-004: For my hod, I'm using Rinnai hob, so size already fixed at 873mm, so will have to reduce my sink size (original at 1160 => 980 => now, think 880 or 780 should be my max) so that I have good work-top area there ; p Then your island, wow.... I love it. Direct life size of my dining table... :thumbs up: Your feature wall  Your relax relax area NO RUN Finally have a view of your legionary WIW & MBR Toilet

  9. wow, I love the ceiling. Nice curves. :sport-smiley-004: Ay, I don't really like curtains, so no lobang on that. paisay. suspect the paint work might be 1st or 2nd layer, the top part also haven't touch-up.

  11. Ai ya, 1st time home owner, jan jiong mar. Even when they are building, I would cycle there (from Toa Payoh), sometimes alone, sometimes with my wife, go look c look c, see the progress, which floor they build until liao. Than best, before I collect key, my 1 kid arrive, than didn't move in. Just reno and leave it there. Didn't wanna move in cause will be very in-convenient (my wife work place is just 10 mins walk from her mum's place, & 3 station from bedok MRT). So I move in with her. Our Seng Kang flat. (become holiday chalet.) :sport-smiley-004: Every month pay SCC, every year pay TV&Radio license. But eventually (after years), we rent out & later sold :sport-smiley-003:
  12. Hi pla7inum, not too sure if you have any kids or 1 person staying. If say planning to have maximum of 2 kids, and you are willing to let them share 1 bedroom (bed room 1), than you can have more space for your wardrobe eating into Bedroom 2, which can double-up for kids study room + common PC/laptop for adult as well. All the best with your space planning personally I have 4 kids, so I uses bunk bed to really save space.
  13. All the best and share share your layout okie ; ) Would be interesting to know how the ID design to place the home office & open concept kitchen ; )
  14. As long as using tempered glass, should be safe. Over time, you can customize stickers that compliment your overall design to past on the glass, it serve 2 purpose, design + safety (won't accidentally bang onto it when it is very very clean, my kids kanna at my Brother house). And these sticker can be easily remove without staining the glass (when using 3M sticker, like those that people stick on their car.)
  15. Hey welcome to Bedok ; ) BTW, your ID really solid, rush for you within such a short duration & yes, with kids, real challenge. So you staying with your in-law, (me too). They offer huge help and also good for the kids to have grand parents to love them ; ) All the best BTW, I love your toilet tiles.
  16. yup, during our 1st meeting, (which took about 4.5 hrs). He did a quote on the spot twice, (once on my 1st lay-out), 2nd on my changed lay-out. And after which, he email me the quote, is almost the same as the quote he given me just using calculator that day. The only different is that with the quote, he include all the detail. ; ) He also said now he will only choose to meet referral, else cannot tahan, too many job liao

  18. Hi, congratulation and welcome to RT. I wonder if you can apply for permit before getting the key! Reason: since they will take 1 mth to approve, apply 1 mth before collecting key !? All the best ; )
  19. Hi, Saw from your 3D you hack the wall. It will help to make the kitchen more open. I might suggest to place the hod n noob near to your service area window to minimize the cooking smell/oil/fumes travel to your living room. Do make use of the floor planner to see which layout suits you best All the best to your Reno journey.
