  1. 1 of the forumer got it here : http://www.scandinaviandesigncenter.com/Products/usd0/Lighting/Ceiling+fixtures/10051/E+27+pendant+lamp
  2. I don't think so, cause granite counter top are cut from the rock where the sink are fabricated (meaning they will need to be glued using special technique or materials to form the shape. Like those Quartz top etc. Still man made.
  3. That's cool ; ) It will be the same for my case. just 1 ave away :sport-smiley-004: As for your fridge, since you are placing beside the wall, do take note to purchase those type where you do not need to open the door 180 degree to be able to pull out the internal drawer (as it will be blocked by the shelf on the door). http://www.lg.com/sg/home-appliance/refrigerator/LG-top-mount-GR-B762GSP.jsp example the above one, if door open left, the last row drawer will not be able to pull out if the door can only open 90 degree & reach the wall. (something like that lar, hope you can catch what I say ; p ) :sport-smiley-004: All the best in your reno :thumbs up:
  4. Ya, its easier to meet him late than early. You can chat with him pass midnight he also ok one. Most important is to really share what you want, he have tonnes of ideas one. Have paper & pencil ready, anytime can draw & sketch, than keep, like that can remember when come to actual design & finalizing lay-out :thumbs up: all the best.
  5. Yup, max 1 month. For me, key work is to hack the kitchen wall + remove most of the existing build in cabinets. Re-do both toilet. Keep all existing floor & windows etc. So really, onsite work not really a lot, kitchen cabinet total to about 48 ft run (top + bottom + full height) which will be done in their factory (so concurrently lor). (as usual, my KEY focus is always the kitchen, the rest can slowly build-up to our liking). Both Seller & Contractor advice me to keep current wiring so not to spoil the cronies. So again, less work.
  6. Hey all the best in your reno and hope everything goes fine BTW for your kitchen lay-out (open concept), before you cook, use a fan, blow towards your service balcony, it will generate a air-flow outwards, so when you start cooking, with the help of your hood, it will minimize smokes or smell travelling towards your living room. :thumbs up:
  7. Hey pat55, May I know for your dining table, what is the width of the table & the base ? Your base looks pretty small from the 3D drawing (which looks nice) I'm having similar design as yours. My contractor is actually checking if using 300mm base be strong enough to hold 900mm width granite top. all the best in your reno :thumbs up:
  8. Ai ya, over liao 3 years later can upgrade some more one mar :sport-smiley-004: Like replacing the door with new design lar, repaint the house lar, introduce LED lights lar... etc etc etc...... :dribble:

  13. Hey, just an experience to share on the granite sink. Don't ever pour or drip hot oil onto it, it will stain, especially dark color. (this happen to my mum's sink). What happen is that after you cook a dish, you might want to discard the oil & use the same pan for the next dish, that's where you will just pour the little bit of a spoonful of hot oil onto the sink, than what happen is it turn a little white (kind of color run like that). I quickly turn on the tap, but too late, damage done. Permanent. sad....... there goes my mum's sink. But got to say, Granite sink looks really nice. But from that experience, I scared liao, cause my cooking habit is just pour into sink when not needed.... old habits dies hard..... :bangwall: :jawdrop:

So got to keep all my 10 fingers + 10 toes cross .... :sport-smiley-004: Hi May, I will be using the same carpenter as yours :good: Yeah.... Keeping everything cross, hopefully can hack all the wall I need in the kitchen. Than will be super open liao :D

  17. Last time my BTO don't give extra, but they do sell to my ID when he doing my kitchen, some area need to hack a bit & kio, so he manage to buy from either HDB or the developer for that project. :sport-smiley-004:
  18. I think they lazy. For tiles, to drill, by right you should 1st use a special drill bit for tiles (with the hammer feature OFF) once through, than change to normal concrete drill bit (now with hammer feature turn ON), like that, the tiles will sui sui, nice circle hole for the screw for accessories. If directly use the drill bit with HAMMER ON, very easy to break (also because most of the time they using rotary drill, which is extremely strong).
  19. YES..... :sport-smiley-004: 1st Appointment on 20th March 2012. Key collection : 15th May 2012 :thumbs up:
  20. The false ceiling are old old type, using those HARD timber as connection to the wall. After many years, the screw connecting the timber to the ceiling rusted & gone, + HDB roof works (we stays at the highest floor), the entire false ceiling just started to crack and give way part by part. Lucky it give way part by part, so throughout the house, I'll need to use timber reaching the ceiling to support, until we manage to get people to help us pull down. Since you have lorry, go bio see anyone around the neighbourhood also got reno, dump into their truck lar (those that leave at CP big big type ; p ) I think now still can lar, just talk to the TC cleaner if they wanna make some $$$ lor.
  21. LOL.. I fully agrees. :sport-smiley-004: But I will still install hood :bangwall: LOL......
