  1. FREE? I doubt there's such a sweet deal? But I do like extended warranties (don't know why appliances like to fall sick AFTER initial warranty ends). Any of the famous neighbourhood shops offer extended warrranty?

  3. wah... can teach me how to negotiate leh? the id i met kept saying quoted me very low already. but it's not so lorrrr... when i compared with another id. then again, i find their quotation pretty detailed...i feel more comfortable this way.
  4. Hi peeps! Wonder if anyone have experienced the same as me? Different ID companies will quote differently in terms of metrics. Some use foot, while others use millimetres. And the thing I cannot comprehend is, same house, how come the 'area' can be different for different ID? For example, the floor tiles, you take the total amount divide by the per sqft. The supposedly floor area is not the same! How to determine who is giving the right figure? Luv, a confused soul
  5. nice blog! Did you like do a total overhaul? living room, toilets, kitchen? How much did you spend? what's the floor area of your place?
  6. Okay, just spoken with HDB guy. It is NOT a must to show the pipes. But he advises me not to conceal them because pipes might leak due to poor workmanship, 'natural' expansion and contract of pipes due to temperature changes, or due to vibrations caused by the floor above doing reno (if any). Cheers!
  7. Errrr .... This 'silly person' is highly recommended by many in this site? Maybe I wasn't clear in my explanation? I was told, if I hack my wall and floor tiles, sure will harm the existing pipes (HDB concealed). Thus, pipes will need to be replaced. However, I will not be allowed to conceal them now.
  8. Is it true? When doing hacking and re-tiling of wall and floor tiles in bathrooms, the pipes MUST NOT be concealed? Then I might as well not hack or re-tile? What for I spend so much to do up the bathroom yet see the un-sightly pipes??? I cannot understand by HDB can conceal it, but not its recognised contractors... hmm......
  9. Hi, I was wondering if I can keep the old glass door to the kitchen. I do not like the decal the previous owners had. Is there a way to remove the decal, clean the glass (color difference where there are no decal) and make good this old glass?
  10. Just curious. Will it be possible if one wanna change the ID but remain with the same reno company after much discussion???
  11. I thought of that too. And thought wouldn't be paying too much for main contractor (since no fancy 3D or anything). But turned out ... it is as high as what ID firms quoted. Can any bro or sis share their experiences of doing reno without 1 main co-ordinator i.e. everything ga gi lai?
  12. Yup, I'm looking for something functional yet nice (not extremely bulky). Any recommendation?
