  9. Thanks, but now I am totally not in the mood for that actually, but have to do it coz the reno-permit already applied. Yeah, should be using granite, cost is less than half of quartz and even cheaper than mid-range solid top.
  10. Got this Kuro from renotalk "garage sales and exchange corner". Actually it is Not 5020FD, but PDP-508XG. The seller "lied", he claimed he thought he got the 5020FD. We went to look at it, it looks to be in great condition and the picture is great, but can't see the model as it was wall mounted. So we bought it and have him delivered professionally, only then we know it is not 5020FD.
  11. Thanks! Hopefully I have time to update this t-blog too. Work is starting to get busy again. So no more photos from you?

Today went over (for handover) and it is HOT. :bangwall: Can share all the necessary materials, shops that you used/visit for this project? Definitely would like to try. Thanks.

  15. Hihi, Yeah... I like this kind of miner's lamp, but so far dun see much (or any) in local shops. How about your pendant light in the living area, the ones near your track lights? You got them online too? Can share where you get them? I am still sourcing for my lightings... super :bangwall: Thanks! BTW, you place is looking really good. Wish my place will turn up half as nice as yours. @praying@.
  16. Hi, can pm me the contact for swivel arm? Thanks! for this one, i had to find the direct distro because its just not in the market anymore. whats so good about this is that it can swivel left right up down and take the weight of the bigger range of screens. i think those in the market right now can only turn left and right. correct me if i am wrong.

Now busy going thru the tile selections... a few months back went to Hafary, LSH for a general idea, but it still didn't prepare me for the when looking at tiles. Went to LSH again and SBH 2x this past long weekend, finally have a few short-listed but nothing is fixed yet. Need to go thru with my contractor and see if suitable.
  20. Welcome back to renotalk! I have been patiently waiting for your updates since mid Feb. haha. The plastering and painting work looks good. And the kitchen cabinets looking really nice! I am also getting quite a number of things from zero. So far confirmed hob/hood, toilet ventilation fans, fridge and washer. Other stuffs still sourcing for brand/model before I ask him. heehee. So how's your final verdict for your contractor? I am going to meet her later this week to confirm the renovation work. It doesn't sound like she did a good job for u. Any more tips or advice you can give me? Please keep posting. Thanks.
  21. Nice! But not all contractors have these kind of tools, right?
  22. It has been a little while since I last updated any progress on my reno. Nothing much has happened for the past 3 weeks due to work. Went to check out a well recommended shop in the west last Sat (a ~70min bus journey) for rewiring quotation. The boss and staff are very helpful and friendly. If get the lights from them, the installation fee will be FOC. They even give me their price list so that I can do my own calculation based on my requirement. Very transparent in dealing. Most likely they will be the one doing my electrical work. Also arranged a site-visit with a potential main contractor and window contractor this coming weekend to my next residence for a more accurate quotation. Was actually more or less settled with my layout design... until last night, my beloved sister drew me a new concept which I quite like. So today, after work, spent some time changing the layout to see if her concept is workable (with some improv by me of coz ) The original one: The alternative: The alternative will possibly open up my kitchen and allow a real open concept kitchen. The downside of it means a bigger hole in my pocket because of a lot more hacking and moving of walls. One concern is the TV area will be very dark with no direct windows. The work-around is, since my ceiling is ~2.9m high, we can build the wall till ~2.5m with the top portion installed with frosted glass to allow the light from the modified room to shine in. Maybe will show this alternate layout to the contractors for another round of quotation.
  23. Kitchen: led? Toilet: e27? Bedrooms: T5? Why the difference in type? Btw, How much is your led downlights?
