  1. We engaged A&D for our 4 rm flat reno. On a scale of 5, we would give an overall 4 score points. Carpentry works received lotsa compliments from relatives and friends. I salute the tiler and elect for a good job done. Plastering, window and aircon works went well. Uncle who has helped us with some minor installation (TV brackets, hand held bar etc.) is super nice and helpful. Some issues with painting and shower screen, but our ID arranged for these to be rectified progressively after the handover. There were also small delays here and there during the reno process, but we consider these minor hiccups given that the end result has turned out well. We bought our lightings & toilet accessories from Light studio in Balestier and Kleen in Tyrwhitt Road. Sales persons (Alvin & Daniel) gave good suggestion and the Lao Pan Niang sounds very friendly and pro over the phone (though we never get to meet her in person). Lastly, we would like to give compliment to Rick Tan, our ID. Nice and patient chap who doesnt give empty promise. May our positive experience with A&D and its associates be of some reference to those embarking on reno projects.
  2. Carpentry works are the ones thats costly, if u have tight budget, forgo the wardrobes, feature wall, tv console, shoe cabinet etc etc...u can save a couple of grands. I suppose it costs the same whether u hack living room only or whole house...no diff, also 2 bangalah doing the job dont forget u need to set aside another sum of $ for lightings, kitchen and toilet accessories and other household furnishings.
  3. Check out Sim Win Liang for your bomb shelter shelves.
  4. Nothing is confirmed before you sign on the dotted line. At this stage, you still have the upperhand to bargain over the quote. Things will be different once you have signed. Do your homework and take your time to decide, dont be in a hurry to commit.
  5. I also signed up with a&d on the second meetup Just one first initial quote and one round revision to add in / remove things we didnt want... the process was quite chop chop (hope it turns out well). will also return and give comment after the reno process is completed. we have asked a&d not to rush the process, it is most important that quality not be compromised. I have at least 3 friends couple in the queue for keys collection. So a&d, pls do "shui shui" for us, word of mouth will see you a long way thru!
  6. Perhaps its the peak period for renovation now, they can afford to be selective. Look at it from another angle, it is better for them to turn down customer if they really do not have the resources to cope, better for the customer also. We wouldnt want our reno to be delayed or reno work completed hastily at the expense of quality. I thought a&d has quite a number of ID, which one are you talking about?
  7. is yours a resale flat, full renovation? still how come take so long? Defong has a lot of jobs on hand? find their quotes very competitive, but wonder if they have sufficient resources to complete jobs on time if many signs up because of their competitive quotes.
