  1. My kitchen wall tiles were also laid for exposed area only; only one week after moved in, I found mould patches inside the cabinet along the groove line where the wood pieces joint. It is obvious that mould is attacking from the cabinet backing. I started to suspect whether it is due to the area without tiles is too damp…will it be better if there are tiles to prevent moisture from the cement wall attacking the cabinet? I am still clueless…
  2. wah, so nice...you have some 'treasure' left by the seller. unlike mine, everything has to be gone!!
  3. Hi Emobebe, I think placing the oven below the hob ONLY if the kitchen is really really running out of space. I dont think it will be an issue (in my shallow opinion lah...) with the side is cylinder gas; since the oven emit heat from front not side wise. But, another concern about placing the oven below - everytime when you bake or peep at the cake, u have to squat, I find it very tiring lor...
  4. this is not true...build in oven actually emit heat from the front not from side. When I bake, the side cabinet couldnt feel heat at all, but when I peep at my cake in front of the oven glass door, it is really hot. I cant imagine some people actually put the oven underneath the hob. While baking chicken, how do they cook with the hob at the same time? it must be very hot, can feel burning leg then..unless the oven is just a showcase
  5. I have my whole house carpentry in black and white combination; both in gloss finished. Have stayed for almost 2months. I would say, maintaining the black is harder than the white. You can see dust and finger print every where that driving me crazy...no problem for the white.
  6. either party might have duplicated the keys when they once hold ur house key. Why dont you change the lock set or buy an additional padlock?
  7. I am using Brandt chimney hood and Rinnai hob. I love this combi, both perform so efficient to give high suction and big flame.

  11. congratulations... I have the same feeling too. We got our flat in November; we were putting in more effort in renovation and my wedding was January. At first we thought we might have wedding cold feet, but now I am released, it seems that it kinda normal for all... hahaa
  12. Actually I do have the same issue like you too - feature tile is bigger than the common tiles. My ID told me beforehand and the solution is to ask the tiler to cut the feature tiles to match the common tiles size. But, it has the possibility of chip tile at the edge when they cut the tiles. So, I asked my ID to replace the chip tiles before putting up. It is possible for the ID to return the unopened tiles. My ID order 4 boxes extra and end up return 3 boxes. Left 1 box for me as spare.
  13. Thanks Kerio for sharing this...I hope your booklice problem resolve soon. Yesterday the carpenter came to check the mouldy cabinet, he cant do much on it, but just to seal the gap between the wood joint with silicone. I am not sure whether it works for mold growth prevention or to solve the root cause, but what can we do? I will be getting a small dehumidifier for the kitchen.
  14. I have a question about pixiu: do the pixiu pair need to be enshrined in the temple?
  15. Hi Kerio, mind to share what is the powerful dehumidifier you got? I am also having problem with mould esp at my kitchen cabinet. Thank you…
  16. Hi akomono, it is pain to have such outcome. Btw, do you have pictures to show us the poor workmanship?
  17. I have a question here…from bepgof post, Pixiu has 2 kinds: PiYa (2 horns) is meant for wards off evil. Tian Lu (1 horn) is meant for wealth and luck. So, can we buy one piya and one tian lu to place it at the living room facing the main door entrance?
