  3. Back for some updates on the bugs problem. Have been busy lately and also need time to monitor the situation before giving a fair feedback. Sofa is bought less than a year and used for only 6 months. Plus points for Cellini are delivery as scheduled and prompt response given Some details on what have happened: Nov 11: Discover bugs on sofa. Major cleaning to no avail Dec 11: Notified Cellini and provided bugs samples. Next working day, Peter the customer service manager informed us that they would change a brand new sofa for us. Options given: They will send the brand new sofa and collect the infested sofa on the same day. They will collect the infested sofa and arrange a temporary sofa while waiting for the brand new sofa. Afraid that it will spread to other furniture, we opt for them to collect the infested sofa first, but we did not take up the offer for temporary sofa. That would mean a few weeks without sofa. The solutions sounded satisfactory at that point in time and we prepared to close the case once the new sofa arrived. BUT IT WAS WRONG. Delivery came on 31 Dec 11, but it was not a brand new sofa. Eyeballs dropped, the sofa is our original sofa that has been infested bugs. To their dismay, we can recognize our own sofa. Worst still, the quality is truly off standard. The back rest is slanted and scratches are found. On the very day of delivery, bugs are found on the sofa shown in the ealier post. The manager came on-site to review the situation. At the same time, we highlighted the coffee tables which suspected to have some kind of mould. While he overturned the table, a bug dashed out. Not again, and from Cellini’s furniture. Our objective is just want to resume to normal lifestyle the soonest. No more checking, monitoring, living in fear etc. We request for top priority especially it’s during festive season period. And of course, no choice but to keep the infested sofa and tables with us first while waiting. We give them the trust first but that is what happened. Finally the brand new sofa was delivered on 9 Jan 2012, followed by coffee tables about a week later. All managed to arrive before Chinese new year. However, we are still monitoring. The whole bug problem is such a pain, causing inconvenience and distress. So far, the sofa seems ok except for a loose screw alike sound rolling in the back rest which we are unsure if it will pose as a problem in future. And we found bugs in one of the new coffee tables. It is so taxing. Nonetheless, we have feedback to Cellini and have yet to hear from them .

  5. I think sometimes it's just "suay" to get the problem batch. And all those in the same batch will have the same problem, just a matter of whether one realizes it.
  6. The sofa bug is not termites. Ya.. The coffee table seems some kind of mould bug. It's different from the sofa, the bug is lightly bigger and in black. Cellini breaks the promise first by sending our original infested sofa back to us instead of a new one. The customer service manager who liaise with us claim is internal miscomm. He came to our house and was apologetic on what has happened. We have no choice but to keep the sofa with us, in case they try to trick us again. And after 9 days, the brand new sofa is delivered and they collect the infested sofa as well. Now pending for coffee table delivery. And the monitoring continues... Our house is always very clean and there is no pets! Let's hope this will be an end of bugs story!
  7. Shocked right? At first, with all the options offered as solution, we are rather pleased in fact and will close case once we receive the brand new sofa and lifestyle back to normal. But not the case. And angry to max. Coffee tables are infested too but the bugs look different from the ones from sofa. Today is the delivery of the brand new sofa. We have given 2 full weeks for them to send us the brand new sofa and they promise to manufacture and deliver once the shipment landed. And is today, 4 days earlier before the deadline. Shall monitor again ... But the coffee tables delivery are not confirmed...
  8. Yup! Even they are unable to identify what kind of bug it is. But the source is confirmed from the sofa. A brief summary of what happened: Oct/Nov 11: Noticed some kind of bugs keep appearing on the sofa especially the back rest. Size similar to ants and in white colour. Massive cleaning of sofa is of no help. Anyone has any knowledge on such bugs: 10 Dec 11: Approached Cellini where we bought it from, giving them sample of the bugs caught. 13 Dec 11: They called the next working day and offer to change a brand new sofa as replacement with options to deliver and collect the infested sofa or collect the infested sofa and send us a temporary sofa. We choose to get them to collect the sofa first as we are afraid it will apread to other furniture. But did not take up the offer for temp sofa. 29 Dec 11: Initial scheduled date for delivery and was changed to 31 Dec 11 31 Dec 11: Delivery made on time. BUT IT IS NOT A BRAND NEW SOFA. IT IS OUR ORIGINAL SOFA. We can recognise our sofa and really stormed on that day as we never expect CELLINI to do that. It did came across our mind that they might send the same sofa back to us since we let them take the sofa first instead of one to one exchange. We gave them the trust and this is what happened for such a reputable company. What make it worse is the sofa is really in bad condition. The back rest is slanted and scratches on the sofa are found. And on that very day, we saw the BUGSSSSS again
  9. Things happened and coincide with festive seasons. We are not buying new furniture, everything in the house is new and we have been staying since last jun. The problem is unknown bugs found in sofa and coffee tables. And all are bought from the same company, well... And is a reputable company. This is not just an issue of rush. Don't think anyone including the owners would want to go near the living hall if the sofa and tables are infested with bugs. A home staying in fear is not a home
  10. Caught a hiccup recently. Just half a year after we moved in How will one feel about not having sofa and coffee table during CNY? In fact, we spent the days without sofa during christmas season. And eyeballs dropped on new year eve.
  11. Remember there are some talks on bugs found in furniture from cellini. Apparently, the threads "disappear". Maybe this is another "power" of an established company. We give them the trust BUT they choose to destroy it... By sending the same infested sofa back to us instead of brand new set as promised. Below pic is the latest bugs samples taken from the so-called "brand new" sofa More photos and details will be updated.

  13. CAUTION!! NEVER BUY SOFA FROM CELLINI Genuine case: I will relay what has happened once I upload the pics. In short, buy if you want to experience sofa BUG AND FALSE promise delivered!! Extreme frustration as cny is near!!! Christmas is gone and now cny coming. Obviously, they do not want our business for having such service recovery. Do not want to comment this in the forum but they force me to do so after today.
