  1. thanks..i look forward to seeing your new drawings then~ i bought most of my furniture from FC...package price is quite cheap. As for barstool..ya, i really loved this chair..first saw something similar from AIR..but its way too costly...how much did you pay for yours? Is it the same design as mine? I lag mine back all the way from Bangkok while on business trip..hahhaa..only $300+ for 2.
  2. hi ahjane...i wouldn't wan to pass u the contact for this contractor cos he did a pretty sloppy job for me..he is the same one that did my metal gate and i had to repaint my metal gate 2 times due to ugly patches. and he left a super rusty metal stopper in my balcony door which his worker will rectify tomorrow...his workers were pretty sloppy too cos i was there when they came to do installation. Reached my place at 9.30am when other workers already started work long ago. Then they just sat at my balcony, dunno waiting for what and start work at 10am...did a little bit of measuring and its lunchtime already. what's worse...after taking their sweet one hour lunch, they even took a nap at my balcony...so total 2 hours of lunch for them! I have a lot of glass to be installed at my place and I don't want to see the work drag another day, so I was quite pissed off. My ID came by and I told him my comments...think they did it on purpose so that they can claim OT pay, end up, my installation only finished around 8pm that day.
  3. that painting is from IKEA...only $99. But think they don't have this design anymore..but they have nice pics of Eiffel Tower and Amsterdam...I am thinking of buying one of them for my living room...see how. hihi luckable~ wow, you live very near me..my blinds are all from IKEA...our ID helped us to put them up. For my whole house..only spent around S$500 on blinds. I love them a lot cos it looks neat and easy to maintain. Comes in black color too. thanks byr! i spent around $47k on reno and another $8k on furnishings n misc. We did a major overhaul of the house so that explains the price. thanks flyingballoons~ my place was completed pretty fast. Ya, we've almost settled down and is now gearing up for end year parties at our place!
  4. nice drawings!! but this concept seems more towards modern rather than minimalist. Minimalism consists more of clean straight lines, less clutter with only the basics and earth tone colors...u can definitely go for modern minimalism if u wan to keep this color tones, but need to choose your furnishings carefully ...i wanted to do a minimalist concept initially too...but earth tones just doesn't suit my taste...so ended up with a modern minimalism concept instead ~ hope to see the final pics soon!
  5. thanks thanks...we did this so that we can free up the other room for kids in future cos our house is a 2-room flat..can see that my hubby occupies most of the study area now.. u're welcome ...i got many ideas and inspirations from this blog too~

  8. Bathroom Foyer Area MBR cum Study Area Cosy Area Thats all~ Merry Xmas in advance to everyone in RT!
  9. Bar Counter cum kitchen Does it look the same? Kitchen counter...custom height to suit us so that cooking is more comfortable and more food preparation space for me compared to last time. Love this the most....lots of storage space for almost anything~. Notice anything different about my kitchen? You can't see any appliances or fridge...haha..thanks to this cabinet..it conceals everything and help to make the kitchen look bigger!! Another view of kitchen.
  10. wahh..really pro...better dun let my hubby see this otherwise he'll put it on his xmas wish list.
  11. thanks...now still trying to recover my energy from all the unpacking and cleaning up..hehe..but glad that boxes are out of our way now...never knew we had so much junk...we threw away 4-5 carton full of unwanted stuff...ya, we have quite a fair bit of glass..even hubby was commenting, keep our glass doors open otherwise he'll bump into them...hehe.. hi pinkpetter..actually it used to be more "white". hehe..now i have some colors..pink walls and blacks...like the current combi better becos we purposely choose black for items we use regularly so that its easier to maintain. look forward to seeing your reno pics soon too~
  12. Overall this has been a happy reno experience for us as compared to our first experience. Perhaps because we already know what to expect and what to lookout for. We did met with some obstacles such as lousy contractors (Mei XXX & Pang XXXX), but am glad that we managed to get the things we want done with better contractors. Guess this is a blessing in disguise...our ID has been really nice and accommodating in resolving issues, defects...hiccups is bound to happen in every reno but we managed to resolve it smoothly. Now that our reno is completed, i guess its fine for me to reveal my ID's name ...(din wish to reveal in the beginning in case things turn nasty or bad..haha)...HC Interior - Kelvin aka Mr. Toon. Just like his name, he is quite a cartoon guy...hahaa...he gave us his contractor contact for windows and gates when we got pissed off by stupid Pang XXXX...so that we can get direct from them at factory price. He is really prompt in resolving defects/ issues...no arguing needed (i had a hard time arguing with my ID during our first reno over the defects cos they refused to admit its their fault)...this made life much easier for us. The project was completed 3 weeks earlier than the stipulated timeline..haha..partly due to my chasing...but mainly cos the workers were pretty efficient..the entire project took them 8 weeks (entire overhaul of the house)!! Pretty amazing I think. So...in summary, thumbs up to Mr. Toon and his team for the great job and anyone hoping to engage him, can mention recommended by Adeline from Yishun...and get him to give you a fat discount. Another person worth mentioning and recommending would be my carpenter..Ah Meng...those that read my blog would know I outsourced some items to an external carpenter cos my ID's pricing for some items were on the high side. Ah Meng was nice enough to fit all the items I want into my limited budget..workmanship was good and he is really prompt in resolving defects too. Nice and honest guy to work with... Thats all about the pple who've contributed a great deal to our house reno...now back to the topic on my white house..hehe...there are still some remaining defects which'll be completed this weekend...so thereafter, the house should be complete and we are all ready for xmas parties and gatherings. Here's the final pics as promised (3D and Actual). Dining Room Living Room Kitchen Entrance We changed this design to fit better into our lifestyle.. Will be back again with photos of other parts of our house..stay tuned!! PM me if you need contacts of my ID or carpenter.

  20. Specially took leave yesterday to oversee a series of event at my house. We had 4 groups of workers at our house yesterday...carpenters, glassworks, electricians, mirrors. It was a sight to see so many people walking around our house doing our stuff. The first batch of carpentry was completed last week and yesterday was the second batch of carpenters (who i engaged separately to cut costs). All I can say is, this is the best decision i have made..their workmanship was good and they are really nice. One thing during reno is...i get really excited when i see some trucks or lorries arriving at the carpark..cos it means something new will be appearing at my house today. Hehe..so guess my expression when i saw this at the lift lobby! Installation for carpentry was quite fast..everything was like fixing a zigzaw puzzel. Kitchen cabinet done. Kitchen cabinet complete...left the granite top and backsplash. Wardrobe installation. Wardrobe complete.
