  1. thank you, thank you VERY much! this is exactly what i was looking for.
  2. Hi I've been looking high and low for a classic/antique table fan. I see alot of them online, but they're mostly in US or UK (and they don't ship to Singapore). Does anyone know where I can find one in Singapore? To give you an idea of what I'm talking about: http://www.target.com/Hunter-Fan-Classic-Table-12/dp/B0017ZARPK
  3. Totally agree. I bought a Seahorse mattress last year and I love it! My husband rolls around quite a bit when he's sleeping but with the Seahorse mattress, I hardly feel anything. Recently we bought 2 Seahorse memory pillows, absolutely love em!
  4. You can also check out Wihardja (http://www.wihardja.com.sg) or Natural Living (natural-living.com.sg). Hope this helps some.
  5. I won't give numeric examples but all I'll say is, definitely switch if you can find another home loan package with lower interests. I recently switched from UOB to HSBC because HSBC offered much more competitive rates: Hope this helps some.
  6. Hi everyone I'm curious, how much should one save in order to ensure sufficient savings for retirement? My husband and I currently save about 40 percent of our combined monthly gross income. I was having a chat with my colleagues and they say that's very high. So I'm wondering whether we're saving too much ... Would be interested to hear what others have to say.
  7. I think you can get ID involved HOWEVER you should do your own homework first. From my own experience, ID tends to recommend shops/places that they are familiar with (or where they can get commissions). So it's better for you to do your own homework on prices and styles before getting ID involved. Hope this helps some.

    Parquet Floor,

why don't you try staining the whole floor a darker shade? it doesn't cost alot (altho you will likely need to get someone to do it for you).
  9. Hi everyone I put too many milk carton onto my fridge shelf and it's now broken in two. Does anyone know where I can purchase fridge shelves? I really don't want to replace my entire fridge, it's still in good working condition. Pls help.

    Cheap Carpet

hi sorry for the late reply, been travelling. the prices at Sundis (marina square, top floor) is very reasonable. at one glance, the place looks expensive. but the owner is very flexible and the prices are negotiable. i bought a persian carpet measuring 128x188cm for only sgd250.
  11. To add to what I'd written earlier, most apartments that we see today are what they call "pre fab" (or pre-fabricated, in full). What this means is, unlike in the old days where buildings are constructed brick by brick and layer by layer, most apartments today are made up of different pieces that are fixed together. For example, you have 4 walls in your living room --> these are effectively 4 pieces that are put together. The "bay windows" are really the structure that keeps the pieces together. So if you remove the bay windows, the pieces will fall apart. Just thought you might find this interesting.
  12. From what I understand, the bay windows are really the structures holding up the entire building. That's why we cannot remove them. So since we're stuck with them, we have to optimise their use however possible. Hope this helps some.

    Cheap Carpet

I went to ling's carpet and was very disappointed. The old man we spoke to was not helpful at all; he was unwilling to open the rolled up carpets for us to see. He kept asking us to tell him what design we wanted before he unrolled the carpets. I was rather annoyed with him. For crying out loud, I need to SEE the carpets before I know what I want!?! Today we finally found what we wanted from this carpet store in marina square . Think the store name is Sundis. On 2nd floor, very near barang barang. The owner was VERY helpful! He kept flipping the carpets for us to see, and he wasn't at all impatient with us as we (my husband and I) had length debates and discussions on which carpet to buy. The best is, we were not happy with the 1st carpet we bought and he allowed us to exchange for another. He even told me to go back again if I'm still not happy with the 2nd carpet, says the important thing is I'm happy. Such a nice man. What's interesting is, we ended up picking a Persian carpet. When we first started looking for a carpet, my husband and I ruled out Persian carpets cause we thought they were old-fashioned. But the Persian carpets at Sundis are really pretty and the owner was very patient to show us the carpets, that's how we ended up with a Persian.
  14. You can try KS Auto System: http://www.ksautosystem.com.sg/ If I remember correctly, I paid only about SGD300+. But I'll be honest. During the installation, they made a mistake and drilled the hole incorrectly. I made it clear that I was not happy. Thankfully they rectified their mistake (hole not visible at all).
  15. Hi everyone I am wondering whether it's possible to change my current kitchen sink (single tub, 1 faucet) to another kitchen sink (double tub, 2 faucets)? Anyone knows someone whom I can pay to do this?
