  1. Adamas quote me Bennington C600 multi point heater for S$288.9 inclusive of GST. Anyone using this heater or any review? Is the price expensive?
  2. Must check out the type of downlight and also the number of light tube per downlight and the brand too. $16 per pc most likely to be a std downlight with a single light tube from a unknown brand. However, this is my guess only.. Based on my exp, some shops like to use this kind of promotion to attract you down and then add here and there and ask you to change to a better brand and in the end it costs even more..
  3. Just to share. Here is what I have just bought: 1) 14 x PLC 5" x 5" Downlights with 2x 13W Philip light tube - S$25 each (I choose the design I likt) so total = S$350 2) 01 x Completely closed up Rectangle Kitchen Light with SS lining - Come with 2 x 36cm light tube = S$90 3) 03 x Stainless Steel round casing light with 2x 13W Philip light tube - S$40 each (Two for bathrooms, One for service yard) = S$120 4) 01 x Normal 22W light with round matt casing- S$18 (For Storeroom) 5) 01 x Stainless Steel round casing light with 1x 13W Philip light tube - S$25 (Smaller version of item 3) So Total damage is $603 with gst wavied off. Should be rather reasonable, right?
  4. Not recommended. I have friend whose friend engages a JB ID. Paid 50%, reno halfway, company closed down. Here is my advice: 1) ID - Get from Singapore to be safe 2) Lighting - Can get from JB provided you can accept the risk as the no safety label. I get mine from SG because don't like JB's lighting design. 3) Ceiling Fan - All brands except KDK and Panasonice must get from Singapore because if any think wrong with the fan, still can call up. - KDK and Panasonic ceiling fan can get from JB - Similar model price almost lower by 40% as they are made in MY. Both are also branded and therefore lesser risk of problem 4) Furniture - Get from JB as most of the sofa and dining table and coffee table.... are all made from Malaysia. You will need to pay more in Singapore for the same thing because of their higher rental, higher profit and higher cost of living. 5) Kitchen hob and hood, sink, bathroom accessories - Get from SG if you want better brand and quality. Get from MY if you only want the cheap one. Most of the FOC stuffs from ID are these types of item. Guess what, they get all these from MY. 6) Electrical appliances - Get from SG. Much cheaper. JB people do come over Singapore to buy electrical appliances Did I miss out any thing? Hope it helps..
  5. City gas will happily install the heater for you at the kitchen upon request. They pull the gas pipe to link up the heater and place it somewhere in your kitchen. That's it. For the water pipe linked to your shower, it is your own business. If no conceal water pipe in your kitchen link to your bathroom, then you got to install water pipe from the outside to your bathroom which will be very ugly. Accordingly to what I know, I think that's what is going to happen if the city gas heater is installed in our flat because we have no concealed water pipe in the kitchen leadling to the bathroom as our heater point is at the common bathroom not at the kitchen. If I am wrong, anyone, pls point out to me. Thanks
  6. I just bought i) 03x Crestar Windpac 48" ceiling fan with 3 pieces light kits and remote control without installation at S$300 each (For my 3 bedrooms) ii) 01x Alpha V5 42" ceiling fan with 3 pieces light kits and remote control without installation at $290 each (For my dining room) I will ask my electrian to install for me at $40 each. Total damage is S$1190 but was given further discount of S$90 because buy so many fan. So Final damage is S$1100 with gst wavied off. Is the price reasonable?
  7. Hi, I am thinking of getting a multi storage heater instead of a storage heater for my new flat? The salesperson if my common and MRB toilet are back to back, I can just install one multi point heater to facilitate the usage in both bathroom provided that both bathroom must have mixer. Has anyone use Multi point heater before? Is it good? Any brand to recommend and how much is roughly one? Thanks.
  8. Hi Folks, I will be staying in BLk 442. I will like to ask if any of you install city gas heater? I want to install but it looks like the design of the new flat is not favourable for that as the heater point is at the common toilet. Have anyone install city gase heater yet? Am I right to say our flat design is not suitable? Thanks.
  9. For Hood, I prefer chimney hood with glass panel. It will make your kitchen look more modern and you can clean off the dirt off the glass. Unfortunately, they are x. If you have budget concern, go for hobz/fujioh: Hobz: => Upsize: Cheap, cost $423 after discount, 2 years service warrenty, highest extraction of 1000m3/hr, come with 650, 850 and 1000m3/hr, LED lighting, filter is cheap at $20-30. => Downsize: Made in China, noisy at 1000m3/hr(All hood is noisy at this extraction, tried out other brand), need to change filter after 2 yrs. Fujioh: => Upsize: Cheap, cost $378 after discount, 2 years service warrenty, auto cleaning system?(need to verify) => Downsize: Made in China, highest extraction only 750m3/hr, normal lighting, no filter needed?(Need to verify) If you have medium budget, go for Aerogas/Teka: Aerogas: => Upsize: Cheap, cost $499, ?? years service warrenty,, highest extraction of 900m3/hr, come with 3 speed, filter cost? => Downsize: Made in MY, noisy at 900m3/hr(All hood is noisy at this extraction, tried out other brand), need to change filter after 2 yrs, normal lighting If you have high budget, go for Brand => Meyer, Bosch (cost >$1000 for glass one) (No research as the cost is way out of my budget...ha..ha)
  10. I think it is indeed a bit strange. Your room should look better if the lamination is perpendicular to the window. I hope when my new flat arrived, I am able to decide on the direction of the laminate. Thanks for sharing your experience...
  11. Hmm.. your backsplash looks interesting. May I know its material?
  12. Yes, it is Daiso. You can find different design of wooden signboards with wood grain. They come with hanging rope or string. You can either write your address on the board with a marker pen or use paint or purchase numbers and words to paste on it....
  13. Hi Rendell, can you PM your contact for the sliding door too. Thanks..
  14. You can try Denso - Buy the various materials required at $2 and DIY yourself, more meaningful....
  15. Most likely, the one in TradeHub 21 is parallel imported with limited warrenty and also the sale commission is low compared to the other 3. I will buy from them too if given such a big discount.
  16. Thanks for sharing. I will proceed with this design. It will be helpful if you post or PM me some pictures of your MRB. It is ok if it is not convenient for you. Thanks
  17. Is it true that you can get higher valuation price if you employ a private valuator to valuate your flat?
  18. Can the price difference be more than 10k or more? Or it is not really significant.
  19. Hi bepgof, I have exactly the same platform bed concept for my MRB of my BTO new flat which I will be collecting my keys 2nd Quarter next year. The difference is that instead of nyatoh wood platform, I plan to do laminated platform and that just put my bed on the platform. I, too, like you, plan to do bulid-in row of cabinet below the panel windows all built on top of this platform. Based on your experience, is it a good concept?
  20. Hi Blue_skies, Thanks for your reply. For the valuation of a HDB flat on the same floor same location, is it true that the better renovated flat will get higher valuation price?
  21. Hi, I have gotten my Lumiera wardrobe installed last week and so far I'm quite impressed with their quality and workmanship. Mr. Toh the owner of Lumiera Singapore is very helpful and monitor the installation by himself. They're quite flexible when we wanted to change the specification and the price is although not the cheapest but I think it's quite worth the money. Cheers, Beruang.ndut Do you know how much Lumiera is charging for a 8" feet Length STD Built-in Wardrobe? Thanks...
  22. Hi Merydith, really appreciate you to share your experience. I will take note of the lessons you have gone through. I believe these lessons will really help me in my reno of my kitchen
