  1. You are perhaps right in your view. I do agree there are times whereby some of the things are not rectified. Maybe I am not the fussy type which I feel I can do it myself rather than to call out the contractors to do again things that ended up the same way, again. As for 3D drawing, I must say I didn't get to see a lot of those and there was once it was hand-drawn. There are of course some services it did for goodwill sake which owner does appreciated but most of the times, the customer service is severely lacking. But to be fair, some of its contractors are really not bad. I must say that for the price, it is definitely competitive. I do know how you felt during those days. Don't know if it was fortunate or not, I did the renovation at the most minimum possible. Still able to switch things around with extra cash on hand. So not too bad for me i guess... Cheers and be happy so all these unhappiness will just go away. Take care.
  2. For those who had emailed to my hotmail on a few questions about Defong and its IDs, I am sorry that I could not reply on time. Pardon me for replying late.
  3. William liaised with me for the last remaining job and the impression was good. The advice he gave on the colours was spot-on and I believe he will do a good job for your house.
  4. I thought the date to proceed was to be confirmed with you? Anyway, To be done works will be fast. But expect some delays on single issue/problem. Other than that, should be normal.
  5. The sub-con for lighting and especially the painting (The painters) were not very good. But tiling and carpentry were not too bad. I believe is normal for sub-con to use the toilets? I had also encountered the cement on the drainage. I removed myself though. Considering the competitive prices it offers, I feel is worth the bet.
  6. Finally, my renovation was completed last Wed. Well, it has been long overdue. I will like to express my thanks to the IDs in Defong for good quality works with its competitive prices. Definitely value for money. The tile works are very good. I like it very much. Its carpentry works are good, as commented previously by many owners here in the forum, i can verify the work was quite well done. Just a minor hipcups: I believe it requires improvement in the communication part which i find it lacking. Or else, it will be a very good experience for owners and contractors. I will be posting pictures of my renovated house sometimes next week. Hope all have a nice day!
  7. Hope he will give you feedbacks on the progress. Mine none at all. Good luck!
  8. Mine is a resale with basic works like hacking, tiling, washing, painting etc. No build-in wardrobes. My two rooms are empty. Mostly furniture i buy off-shelf. Carpentry works are only in kitchen and a few cabinets. Basically is a near empty house to work on. Yet, it has been dragging too long. Perhaps too many projects to handle and neglect the on-going ones. I am not sure.
  9. Well, initial stage was very fast and efficient. Major works like tiling, hacking, plastering and ceiling works were done within schedule but somehow after that, it was slow, slower and reach a stagnant phase. I don't know what happen too. No urgency at all. Anyway, I am holding the last payment until i see everything is done properly.
  10. Sigh... My renovation has been dragging into the 9th week. Luckily i am not in a hurry to move in yet but still, a renovation should be done between 6 and 8 weeks.
  11. Hi Breadman, this is only the beginning. I was feeling excited and had the same feeling as you. But do monitor yourself, but i feel william can do a good job for you so keep us posted. I wonder if project size matters? (in terms of $$$$) Anyway, other than painting and plaster/tiles works, the rest should be fine. Take note of those i had highlighted, esp paints. Plastering (if any) is a skilled work. Ensure the quality is there. Good luck!
  12. Hi pendingkia, like i said in the previous post, i can consider myself quite lucky that the person Jeremy sent is quite decent in his work. What happen if he sent those CMI ones? Just want to stress that DeFong only has 3 IDs at the moment. There are things i just do not want to disclose here. Those who wish to get to know the company, can email me @ canopy82@hotmail.com. I wouldn't say this company cannot be the choice of many as his price is quite competitive. But nonetheless, those who want to get to know his character or his other partner(s), can email me. P.S. For those who feel I am not his customer, I have my renovation photos with me.
  13. Yes, ID cannot always be at site but then when the things we had discussed are being passed down to another ID, then i might as well go through this ID instead of the initial one. Is a matter of principle where you start the project, you must follow up and end it yourself and not through another person. I am lucky that this ID he sends over keep me in touch with all the matter. I don't mind the hipcups during the process, just keep me informed will do. If this simple thing an ID cannot do it, then no matter how good his works are, he may not have recommendations from the people - words of mouth.

  15. There are some things u may want to take note if you are to engage Defong to renovate your flat. 1) My ID is quite friendly and responded to my needs, though sometimes you may need to remind him time and again for certain things. A busy man and a family man. Hence, he may not response to you fast enough but still return your call. 2) Have a work schedule to meet, hence is efficient. But personally, find out that he is not in an urgency to proceed on to certain works so he feels it can be done later. Therefore, you may find him doing things slowly but he somehow already know what is the next step. Requiring you to be patient. 3) You will need to get involved in the selection of lights / toilet accessories etc. you will get hands on experience. Overall, it is good experience to be involved in the renovation of my flat together with my ID. The works are almost complete. 2 more weeks to go. Looking forward to its completion.
  16. Hi people, I had also engaged DeFong as my ID to overhaul my flat. Just started last week on the hacking. So far the progress is good. Hope everything will be fine.
