oh dear! so many things happened. its a pity the concrete floor cant be done anyway think of it as a blessing in disguise lor.. tiled floors easier to maintain, wont get cracks that easily and next time if sell your house your buyers wont use the bare concrete floor to nego for a lower price. Hmm the cracks maybe due to wrong mixing of the cement sand water mixture. or no expansion joints.. or maybe he didnt allow for sufficient drying time.. But hmm if your contractors cant do a smooth cement finish.. then he has enough knowledge to do proper tiling or not? he will have to do some hacking to the floor now if you need to lay tiles, or else the tiles wont grip. and what was the thickness of the cement floor finish that he layed for you? i think HDB has ruling that floor finish cannot be too thick.. so if u add the cement floor finish + tiles thickness, may be too thick..

Hey sumobear very nice! the cabinet colours really matches ur yellow tiles wad colour is your solid surface? so u source for all the contractors and project manage yourself? any problems co-ordinating the plumber/gas guy/ electrician with the carpentry and tiling?

those are sandstone tiles.. its about sg 30 for that size.. about 35cm x 35 cm. i think i kenna chop there. should be cheaper but the salesgal wont let me bargain lor. i think its avail in sg too. try the flower gardens.. they may have stuff like this

yes do get plants! i think plants can add a nice "nature" touch to homes. why don u start with small potted plants. some are pretty maintenance free. then later go to bigger plants! keke. i saw and bought it while holidaying in batam thats a standing birdcage from the home merchant. my hubby's eyeing on it for a long time so we decided to grab that when they were having a sale:) hey any one of u keep birds at home? are they hard to maintain? my hubby wants to get a parrot. we went parrot shopping and realised its beyond our budget. so ex! so maybe thinking of songbirds or lovebirds.. i'm not so keen on birds coz i wanna have a doggie next time. dogs and birds don go well together right?

mine was also replaced by HDB coz there was a defect with the original door. They replaced to the white ones. something like krisie's but mine has 4 plastic panels instead of 2. If your original HDB toilet door is defective, maybe you can ask them whether they can replace to this type of doors for free.

my mum's aircon is 10years + and still working leh. my in-law's aircon is almost 20 yrs and still wkg... but its true lor if u don really switch on aircon then might as well dont get inverter those are only efficient for higher usage.

Thanks diva:) just draw the design on the paper backing behind and cut it out with a pen knife.. the curves are real difficult to get it cut properly tho hehe u also had the same problem as me! try plants! or do the same as me.. cut out the design! or actually i've been looking at shopping centres shop glass for inspiration..
