manutd, thanks for checking.

neubie, dex, manutd, You guys are so helpful. Guess Dex has a point on the Blu-ray thinggy. I hardly seen anyone buys blu-ray disc, considering the price difference between a dvd and a blu-ray. I think the visual difference is not significant for the price. So maybe I can convince my wife to look at a game console without taking the blu-ray function into consideration. Anyway, neubie, I think you must be a very techky person. Your house sounds very well-wired. How do you come the DLNA and wifi capable device to play music? Dont quite understand. Paiseh.

haha... group buy sounds like a plan. let me check with my CEO.... she wants something that can play blu-ray/dvd and her music CDs.... need to check out its functions. maybe can try it out this weekend if there is any rd shows. Think i will take up Moses offer and get the curtain, 3.50 is still quite a decent deal i guess. thanks again for the lobang

i second that, you are so pro, u got all these little gadgets the contractors use. u can be a contractor yrself now. hahahah ... there isnt a single thing that requires nailing or hammering done by me except for fixing up the stand fans and my cable box and telephone. T T

hey manutd, have you started your regime with yr kinect? is it effective? hahahaha... i wanted to buy a track mill previous, but now that you promote kinect, and it is half the price of a thread mill, sounds like a good deal.....
-
dexufto, thanks man for the deal. called moses, he didnt manage to give me the 2.99 deal, but he offered 3.50psf and the final cost for 1 piece of 1.2m width, half height fullout roller curtain will cost $140. still considering if i should take it or go for the ikea one (have to cut out the size ourself) which will cost probably 40plus for the whole unit. dillemma....

heyoo, the AVR and the starhub box does get very hot, so no choice whenever i turn it on, i have to open the front panel. So it kind of defeats the purpose of having the panel for the tv console.. hmmm..... i seen the stolmen, they are really beautiful. initially, i wanted the stolmen also, but the width of the parts are fixed. hence, cannot fit in the small corner in my room, so we choice the broder instead. now we need to find a drawer unit for my wardrobe to compliment my pole system. My contractor quoted $280 for 1 unit with 2 drawers, dont know if it is expensive or reasonable.

dexufto, can you also share home classic interior furnishing number with me. I need 1 more piece of roller blind for my bed room. The size is odd because of the air con trunking running beside my window, so i cant get it from Ikea.

My home entertainment Haha..... My Philips Full HD LCD, Onkyo Amp, Jamo Speakers and apple TV made up my home entertainment for the time being. Looking to add a a PS3 or WII or XBOX360. Which one is a better choice?? Do they have blu-ray player? Hmmmmmm...... MY HOME ENTERTAINMENT Also, this is my wardrobe. The pole type I bought from Ikea. So far I think the wardrobe is the least nice place in the house. I think I failed terribly designing it.... Hope I can install a nice WIW door or curtain to made up for it.

Hi rainforest, before the reno, all the contractors/IDs who came over to my house recommended removing the air pipe. They told me that the pipes were meant for the squating type toilet bowls. So I changed it. You may want to check with your contractors again if this can be done.

neubie, u certainly know where to get all these nice nice accessories for your house. BTW, i got my blinds from Ikea. Each 1.2m wide blind cost $30+, but the quality is not very good. So, I wont recommend. But it is very cheap as compared to the professional curtain/blind makers.

Thank you for the comments. Tomr the aircon repair man, sofa repair man and my sound system will be arriving..... yipppeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

hi gimz, the glass door and the glass partition totalled $950. I don't know if its cheap or ex, but the price for my whole reno package seem reasonable.
-
hi neubie n dexufto, sorry didnt come online for a while. My blinds are from ikea. Quite cheap minimum from 20+ onwards depending on the width. But i feel that the quality is not fantastic n will not recommend, unless u do not Mind the qualtiy for the price.

This is really creative. I see that you hav a lot of DIY items. So what kind of door you will be having for your WIW? I intend to use curtains in place of doors. It is a cheaper alternative.
-
Waaa dexufto, your door very high tech, I like...... Initially, wanted to buy this type of high tech door lock also, but I got a total disapproval from my wife. SIanzz.....

The digital clock is beautiful. Where did you get it from?

Neubie, is there any specifications we should look for in a HDMI cable? Understand there are different quality?

Installation of my glass door and partition My glass door and glass partition between the kitchen and living room was finally installed last fri. I think the glass partition looks gorgeous. But on a flip side, my in-laws are worried that the kids will knock their heads against the glass door and suggested that we paste some stickers on the glass door. Hmm.... I am really not too keen on that idea. It is a real waste of money installing a glass door in the first place if we were to do that Glass door and partition Glass door and partition, reverse angle As mentioned earlier, the plaster came off because of drilling during the installation of curtain and wardrobe. Yen promised to get everything fix and make sure everything is nice and good by the weekend. Hhahaha... i m excited again. Looking forward to SITEX as well Crack due installation of curtains Crack due installation of a overly long nail for my wardrobe

Thanks for the advises. I am looking forward to Sitex this weekend .... But I will make sure I do some research on the oven, kind of attracted to the 3in1 or even the 4in1 type of oven as it can save space. But the down side, 1 spoil, everything else cannot be used. For TV wish, I think I will get Full HD LCD, <$699 and most importantly with 3 years warranty. As for the bed frame, like you say, due to shortage of storage, I will probably stick with it.

You spoken to yr PM? Daniel right? Maybe you can snap some photos and post on here as well, I think some of the bros / sis can give advice. I do have some uneven tiles in the living and bedroom as well, but not as many as yours. I have told them to change it and it looks reasonable afterwards. There was 1 hollow tile, but they replaced it as well. Anyone else faces the same problem when re-tiling of their old flats? I tested my toilet for gradient problem at a very early part of the reno and found that the gradient was ok. How bad is the ponding? is it 20cent type or a very big puddle type? I noted that while there is gradient for the toilet floor tiles (both my sis's house, done by HDB and my house), water wont flow off the tiles totally. Hmm... An analogy : Like our umbrella, though it has a gradient, when you close your umbrella after the rain or when you enter a shelter, there will still be droplets on it (, this is the best i can try to illustrate).

Thanks for all the links. Look through it quickly, looks very technical... hahaha.... feel like giving up already.

Hi, I wanted to give a final summary of CT Square after the reno is completed. BUt since you asked, I will give a quick view on CT Square. I think in general their worksmanship is good (you can asked them to bring u over to see my place, if you are interested, hahahaha), and my project coordinator, Yen (I dont know about the other guys in CT Square) is a responsible and creative person. You can see that, at this final stages, there are some hipcups here and there, he has never once push the blame around to someone else or us, the owners (as long as they are within the agreed terms). He will always hear us out and try to solve the problems. Which makes us, feel comfortable working with him. THis is my quick over view. Hope it helps.

Sad Weekend Many things broke down..... Initially was looking forward to the completion this weekend. But so many things broke down. 1. Aircon (in-door unit) in living room stopped suddenly and had burning smell. It stopped working after that. 2. Hinge of the 3 sitter recliner-type sofa from novena was bent, and 1 of the sit was not hooked on properly and became detached from the rest of the sofa units. Didnt realise that before the delivery man left. 3. As a result of drilling (curtain and wardrobe), there were 2 holes on the walls. Yen got to get his workers to come back to fix the holes and repaint the walls. Really upset....
