new pictures from on site visit! just 2 of us... since agent cannot make it back (cos we got lost riding there) and henry also cannot make it... here is the foyer which I plan to have built in cabinet and settee... and this is the living room console area! which I also plan to have a built in console cum dvd rack cum book shelf.

update! 1) Sandy from Englander said we should go down to take a look at the mattresses before deciding to get it with the storage bed we purchased. will arrange a day for that. 2) visited Megatex today... many TV promotions but can't choose which one! and don't wanna buy yet... comex and end of year sale! I got my eye on a kenwood mini water boiler but gf said it was too small... $32 only! didn't buy. 3) also... spoke to edmund from DX. had a very good impression of him! will arrange for on-site measurements before quote/confirmation. 4) henry did not make it for our appointment today... so nothing to say about him.... just will say that had some last minute changes yesterday, and he was unable to adapt to change of timing. understandable for a busy man! 5) patrick from ho bee has not gotten back to me after I have sent him the pictures... 6) got the photocopying done today, all set for 1st appt!

oh! what time is your appt? maybe I will bump into you at HDB TPY... mine is 0945hrs. but it's only 1st appt... so far away! wasn't really into hiring an ID for my place... since we have pretty much what we want in mind... just need ideas to maybe improve the layout of how things are arranged. apparently the ID firms at IMM aren't very much to be hoo-ha about. I never entered ANY firms there. only went to some of them at the Expo fair. other than that, the rest of the ideas we got were from RT posters! looking forward to seeing who we will choose in the end. I got my first quote from a firm already. $21k. not really taking that seriously, going to see what the upcoming offers are. my favorite magazine so far is Square Rooms! lots of ideas for small spaces. love love. speaking of which, thanks for the reminder... really need to call Englander tomorrow to see if I can get a mattress along with the purchased bed frame.

Really? I don't know much... Need to consult Henry on Saturday to see how much. I got a quote from the furnishing fair of $21k for the work I wanted to do! Won't say who... But thought it was ex. But of course la, it's only the first quote. Don't know reasonable a not. Yah, because we doing contra, so we don't have time to reno That's why we hunted high and low for a move in unit. Just need to make some changes!

Got... They cut off the kitchen with the cabinet and used the leftover space for a dining table. When we went for viewing, they had a big marble table that could sit 6 people!

Yah, he's been very patient with me... Cos I got so so so many questions and I keep bugging him, but he never fails to entertain me. Nah, I don't need to hack ANYTHING at all. Because the flooring and all that done up pretty nicely. Will be posting some pictures of the current living conditions! Floor is done with homogeneous tiles, kitchen cabinet is pretty and well maintained, toilet 1 pink theme and 1 baby blue theme, very nice. just need to change mirror and install sink/cabinet. And build some settees in some places of the flat. I guess this is where my reno pricing goes up - the custom made stuff!

Yes! He's highly reliable. And helpful... Yesterday he came over because I had so many reno questions to ask (first time buyer here) and he actually came down today to verify everything! So patient. Sourcing ID or contractor, dunno yet. Because we already have a layout in mind, just don't know how to build things, and we also don't feel like it's worth to pay for an ID because we are not overhauling the whole place, just making it livable as we only got maximum 2 weeks to minor reno. That's why my floor plan so simple.

And finally, we found what I've always wanted to buy... Ezy hangar! Initially I wanted this. But we decided that lifting one pole at a time was lighter, because of my mum who has rheumatism and her hands might not be able to handle the weight of all 6 poles with damp clothes. So.... We got this! It has more ropes... Which can be a little messy, but safer for mum. Also went to various ID firms in the show to get quoted for the reno we had to do. Image Creative out of the rest impressed us because the guy was professional, patient and suggestive. We liked him out of all the rest that we visited. And on the spot, he didn't give us a detailed quotation but invited us down to their showroom to get our quote next week! Too bad we have not heard of the ID firms at the show so we couldn't just go to one that we liked and asked. The rest of the exhibitors we visited (and repeated our ideas to) were: Add Space Design Pte Ltd ONE Design Concept Rezt & Relax Interior Due to sensitivity issues, will not describe our feelings about them. Also talked to Henry from ID note. Trying to get him to meet up this coming Sat to measure the new place. Hope everything goes well!

Did shopping yesterday! Too tired so didn't manage to blog down. Event: 100% Home Design Venue: Expo, Hall 6A Date: 07 Aug 2010 - 15 Aug 2010 Here's what we got ourselves... A new air-con! Inverter System 3, from Panasonic. Good deal, we can match price and also got $300 NTUC vouchers! Then... We walked around amongst the many many bed exhibitors looking at storage beds.. And came across Englander. They had a pretty good deal for a storage bed frame. $999! Don't know if it's the best price but we liked how the storage was built. Inside was deeper, and the wood material was good too. The rest were just lining. One had a 5 year guarantee for the hydraulic pump for the lifting frame, but Englander was promoting a better one for 10 years guarantee! We told her we'll walk around but in the end we came back to her because the rest of the beds weren't impressive enough. The bed. We were not going to buy a mattress because we wanted to use the one we already have, but we changed our mind today, and I'm going to call Sandy (lady who sold us) and ask her if there is a promotion going on for the mattress. Hee. This is how it looks opened up. A closer look. See how good the inside is... So shiny!
