Got - see my post on aafrenz's latest promo with 5 freebies now which include a bedsheet set too
-
The sales lady from aafrenz called me Wed to remind me of the Thurs delivery for the diamond-shape bedframe and I confirmed it since I'd already arranged to take half-day leave for Thurs afternoon specifically for this [even tho' I would have much preferred a Wed PM delivery where I won't need to take leave being one of my 2 afternoons-off but was told MUST be Thurs...] So I rushed home but no delivery at all so I changed into my sleepwear after waiting till 8 pm [unable to reach them since phone was busy all this while] Then I received a call after 9pm from the delivery guys that they were on the way When they finally came after 10 pm, they had to first ascertain with me the exact style of the bedframe 'whether it contained crystals 'diamonds' or not etc' - was shocked that they seemed so uncertain even at this late stage and they said that it was very dark in the van and they want to make sure they were bringing up the right product etc .... So finally they brought up a diamond-shaped bedframe [but it didn't look at all like what I'd remembered tho' and the curving wasn't as pronounced as seen at the display set etc ....] On comparing, I still preferred the 1st original 'wrongly-delivered' boxy rectangular design and told them I would stick with that instead - they said no problem [saved them some work] So my bedframe was left intact after all instead of being changed Guess us women have the final perogative here divineparadise - why don't you call aafrenz and inquire on their price and whether the Duchess can be bought at $1299 now [maybe with fewer freebies] etc ? I strapped the mattress protector over the pillowtop layer since the elastic couldn't stretch easily over the whole mattress base So far no problem with the bedsheets tho' the Duchess is 11-12 inches thick.

I bought our showroom display 4-seater L-sofa at >50% off bc of slight 'defect' - no warranty at all from Lorenzo but I'm pleased with the huge cost savings [got a sofa throw to 'hide' that small defect tho' my mom prefers NOT to have the throw since she prefers to have a neat pure sofa in its entire naked glory as the defect is hardly noticeable] We prefer not to do a new order - get what we see and like [at very much cheaper price too] The aquamarine light green sofa goes well with our light blue wall [at night wall looks green and matches sofa shade closely too] Many years ago I'd bought a 3-seater and 2 1-seater pure leather sofas from HTL at their warehouse sale Found that upon delivery not all the 3 sets were properly 'colour-matched' as such [next time MUST pick out and mark the exact sets instead of leaving it up to them etc .... ] After many years of usage [without any leather-conditioning on our lazy part] the heavily-used/seated areas also cracked/peeled or flaked {but not as badly as TS's} This time round we also bought from Lorenzo their leather cleaning/conditioning set [kinda pricey at $90+ but for convenience etc] as we're told we MUST use that every 2 months to protect/care for the L-sofa

Hmmm .... I was told by my mattress salesguy that PU leather is better/higher grade or superior to PVC for fake or faux leather In my mind PVC is something like "Plastic" - thick/hard shiny type of 'inferior type material' Oh dear .... which is correct ?
-
Today saw aafrenz's latest ad - still with "lowest price guaranteed" BUT the new Duchess mattress is now priced at $1,899 [instead of the previous $1,299 (+ gst)] with 2 supposedly ADDITIONAL Freebies - Quiltcover + Bedsheet Set - making total 5 freebies instead of the original 3 comprising the Designer Leather Bedframe + Pillows + Mattress Protector Also 3 other brand mattresses featured - KingKoil + MaxCoil + Four Star - with same 5 freebies now Seems like the Northstar shops all having big sales bc also saw other ads. in today's ST papers

The sales lady Isa.. I spoke with on Delivery Day last week [not the original sales guy S] from Aafrenz called today and said the correct 'diamond-shape pattern' head-board will be delivered next Thurs afternoon - said it would still be in beige PU leather [guess it would be too much to expect a storage bed from them - even tho' that should add up to the promised $899 value for the freebies as originally advertised - at present there's a MISSING $540 value somehow ....] I was checking out the ibeds.com.sg site and noticed a similar 'diamond pattern' headboard at http://www.ibeds.com.sg/product_images/o/tlt_805__39319.jpg which x-805 diamond pattern was more pleasing to the eye as it was 'less complicating with fewer or only 4 diamond shapes at top row' compared with the 'equivalent' aafrenz showroom model with slightly-more or 6 diamond shapes at top row etc ... Now the present boxy rectangular shape pattern has kinda 'grown on me' after a week .... [btw it's called Tiffany at ibeds.com.sg and priced at $359 http://www.ibeds.com.sg/products/Tiffany.html# - or called Alano & Monaco at beds.sg as mentioned earlier] I really hope I won't regret my 'diamond-shape' option at the end of the day tho' I remember the 'curving' was far more pronounced here and therefore very good for sitting up in bed Fingers crossed 'no regrets' here BTW dexufto the Dunlopillo SP Latex Topper, Thickness: 1.5" [Q-size] is cheaper - only $380 at v-shopper.com compared with sleeppost's $407 stated earlier
-
On further exploring the Sleep Post site, the dunlopillo storage divan {Q & K size} is ONLY S$ 799 (Online Price) Futher savings of abt $60 : total savings = $200 for you ? See http://www.sleeppost.com/viewproduct.php?p...=2752&set=1 BTW - the Sleep Post SP 008 Bedframe Model at $379 is 'identical' to Beds.sg's Monaco faux Leather Bed Frame listed at only $359 [$20 cheaper at beds.sg] ------> presently the 'similar' bedframe that was 'wrongly' delivered to me in beige

Thanks so much for the beds.sg link ! Hmmm ... from the prices of the Faux Leather Beds stated there - leads me now to ascertain more {take issue ?} with aafrenz on THEIR claims that the freebies they're giving with the 4 stated mattresses listed in their 10th July ad is worth total of $899 I HAD in fact earlier spoken/emailed the salesguy just 1-2 days after my 11th July visit/order on the "drastic price discrepancy" after comparing the bedframe models I had found on the Sleep Post site then [the Sleep Post then New Duchess online promo has since ended too] The reply I was given on 13th July was "that those were overpriced/discontinued models/not their own but from suppliers etc" and that "good quality leather" means PU leather [not necessarily real/genuine leather - fair enough] and my queries on THEIR 'own' models and 'true/not inflated' prices were left typically unanswered Now after exploring the Faux Leather Beds in beds.sg, I wonder now ... Seems like someone pulled a 'fast one' here somehow on me Yikes ....'misrepresentations again ?' Shouldn't I have been entitled to that "Designer Leather Bed" that should be worth at least $800-$899 ???? - Alano Faux Leather Storage Bed Frame from beds.sg is $859 - Livio Faux Leather Bed Frame is $857 {had seen similar at showroom and was then told that the free bed does not include this model !!} What was delivered to me is the 'identical' Monaco faux Leather Bed Frame listed as $359 only - in beige Hmmm - just WHERE is the other $500++ value ??? [$899 - $359 = $540] {and this was not the chosen 'diamond-shapes' seen at the Northstar showroom - and as captured on my handphone too - but not found at beds.sg site} My friend likes the simple minimalist boxy rectangles/squares tho' when I showed her the various models we saw at the Orchard Road Mattress & Beds showrooms today Actually the curved bedframe design is exactly the same/identical in both Alano & Monaco except that Alano is the one with storage Discounting the 2 pillows and the mattress protector which came from Dunlopillo anyway, the BULK of the $899 should rightfully be attributed to the "Designer Leather Bedframe" since the New Duchess is Item 2 in the Item 1 to 4 stated in the ad ! I know these are FREEBIES but still ... I hate marketing gimmicks - there shouldn't be ANY misrepresentations of any sort Make sure you carry thru' your promises, no false claims etc FYI - from http://www.sleeppost.com/viewproduct.php?p...=1159&set=1 The Dunlopillo - SP Latex Topper Pad (Q-size) online price is $407 Latex Toppers are hypo-allergenic. My previous normal spring mattress [old divan style] lasted me well over 22 years - it was some brand from UK [if not wrong bed+mattress was something like $500 or so then] and from a furnishing retailer that went up-lorry more than 10-15 years back Actually the replaced old mattress was still in relatively 'good condition' bc after 22 years still no spoilt spring or sagging as such - but I replaced it bc the covering linen material was all tearing apart ..... My mom liked her Dunlopillo latex mattress [bought when she got married] bc that lasted well over 24 years too but her present mattress bought from Robinsons at $400 offer price >5 years back still OK [it's either FourStar or Seahorse ... must remember to check her mattress one of these days to see which brand ...] I zeroed in on Dunlopillo for my replacement mattress after reading the posts here and especially after I saw the Aafrenz ad that Saturday 10th July which spelt out specifically New Duchess etc & freebies at that price .... Since this new mattress should hopefully last me until I expire [maybe in say 30 years ?], didn't mind a slightly 'upgraded mattress' for myself this time round bc afterall doubt I'll need to do another mattress replacement unless I live on for say beyond another 35-40 years ???

Today went shopping in Orchard Rd - and also checked out the Dunlopillo mattresses at the various furnishing stores which carry that brand Thank goodness - what was delivered by the Dunlopillo guys IS INDEED the NEW Duchess Well - u never know [so many false claims & promises etc] - so MUST cross-verify with various 'independent' sources [even if it's after the fact] Yes the Talalay Latex Pillowtop is the much-thicker one of 2.5-3" [found in the New Duchess with the braided cord] compared with the old previous thinner 1" one in the old Duchess I was hoping to be able to find a nice-coordinating-color sofa throw for my sofa but no luck guess I can only find such at Ikea .... so must make a trip there probably 2molo Sighs ... burnt quite a hole today ! Last evening had already bought 3 pairs of shoes [no gss discount there] but when friend called to meet her in Tangs shoe dept, couldn't resist temptation and bought my 4th pair this afternoon ! Then "itchy-itchy" as we'd both not been to Orchard Central OC before - kena 'lured' into a local designer boutique after an interesting item on a mannequin caught my eye ..... arrghhh ended up with 2 items My friend said "Good bc hopefully that would reduce my urge/itch/funds for the casino" that I was planning to make a 2nd trip within the next 2 weeks Nvm - pay day is next week hahahaha

I bought from Aafrenz Bedding Pte Ltd - they are at : 7030 Ang Mo Kio Ave 5 #01-39/58 Northstar Singapore 569880 Tel : 6570 8034 {across the road is seagate factory - where have bus no. 88, 72 etc OR 2 bus-stops before Sheng Shiong [off main-street] if enter from Serangoon North Ave 4} Paid $1299 + gst $90.93 = $1389.93 total [all free delivery] Call them if they're still at Expo exhibition and if prices better at Expo or not ??? My freebies besides the new Duchess mattress : - 2 White Cloud Dunlopillo pillows - 1 Dunlopillo mattress protector - PU Leather "Designer" Bedframe [extra gss freebie ?? - unfortunately they got the wrong model for me [got the 'boxy rectanges instead of diamonds' pattern at headboard .... sighz ] - not sure about that free bolster now .....
-
Well I slept like a log undisturbed as per normal Found the Duchess much firmer than my old/previous much less hard/firm mattress compared but thank goodness could still sleep peacefully until the next morning
-
The whole mattress [non-flip type] with 1-sided pillowtop is 12 inches ! I got 2 Dunlopillo White Cloud pillows [washable foam type] + Mattress Protector as freebies Now waiting for 'glitch' regarding wrong headboard model in the free bedframe to be sorted out and to see whether I'll eventually get that free dunlopillo bolster too - had already mmsed over the pic of my desired headboard design taken at their showroom earlier to 'refresh their memory etc' Hope they'll make good on their mistake !!! Dunlopillo Delivery Guy said to be sure that my alarm clock is on otherwise might not be able to wake up 2molo LOL

As posted earlier in the other 2 Mattress threads, my new Dunlopillo Duchess mattress [Queen size] that I'd bought from aafrenz was delivered today Will feedback after sleeping on it tonight The free bedframe arrived first [gss freebie ?] - now sorting out a minor 'hitch' as somehow the headboard isn't the model I'd chosen at the showroom [Color and PU leather seems ok tho'] [The salesguy I dealt with is now busy at the Expo exhibition - seems he made some rectification on the model without confirming with me 1st ???] I'd taken pics of BOTH the desired/chosen curving bedframe model as well as Duchess mattress on my handphone then [so as to know/show exactly what I was expecting] - the aafrenz lady got me to mms over to her the headboard pic and they'll look into it Then the Dunlop guys also came with the 'std' freebies + mattress : 1. 2 Dunopillow White Cloud pillows 2. 1 Dunlopillo quilted mattress protector {Errrmm .... the salesguy did say his manager should personally be delivering an extra free Dunlopillo bolster to me too since he's staying very near my place which happens to be quite near the Expo too - had asked why free bolster not possible since TradeHub place was giving a free bolster too to some of the posters here who managed to wrangle this .... so far no bolster delivery yet - let's see now } My mom was asking me why I want so many bolsters for what - hahahaha - all the more the merrier expecially if free - right ? The new new Duchess mattress is thick - 12" with the Talalay latex pillowtop All these for only $1299 plus gst : think this is the lowest bargain price right now ?
-
And your 'lobang price' is $ ????? for each model ??? any freebies etc ??? Price for New Duchess ???
-
Is that your 2nd Dunlop Dutchess - WITHOUT any free bedframe ? I hope I get the softer genuine Dunlop pillows too .... Because in the other Dunlopillo thread , you said you paid $1,500 with free basic bedframe "i just bought mine from TradeHub 21, Dunlop Sleep Ctr for $1500- nett "Q" mattress with a free leather bed frame..... " "QUOTE (kakaout @ Jul 4 2010, 01:52 PM) My is the new dutchess !! c/w a basic leather bed frame. Just delivered yesterday, simply comfly epescially after the Spain win. Feel so refresh now !!!!!!!!" Mind telling me WHAT TYPE of leather was used here in that bedframe [PU/PVC ?] Also did you get the freebies with the 1st mattress - 2 pillows & mattress protector ? Errmm .... I MIGHT have that free Dunop bolster too after all - let's see on delivery
-
Yup - it's non-flip since only 1-side Talalay Latex Pillowtop - am told by salesguy in all 12 inches [but maybe only 10 inches as stated on a site] ? Am told the 2 free pillows are "Standard ones from Dunlopillo" most probably just foam type - will know on delivery [tho' I'd requested for the softer non-bulky type as I CAN'T Sleep on thick bulky/hard pillows ..... have to settle for typical 'Standard type' now ... ]
-
Did you have to pay the 7% gst on the $1299 ? What were "the existing free gifts" ? Did you get : 1. 2 Dunlopillo pillows - which model/type ? 2. 1 Dunlopillo mattress protector - which model/type ? 3. a free "designer leather bedframe" too - if so, what type of leather promised [PU or PVC ?] Your free bolster - which Dunlopillo model was it ? I'm told the bedframe design I chose is not some 'discontinued design' or taken from other suppliers Hope it can maintain well over 10 years with the New Duchess - with Talalay Latex pillowtop and pocketed spring Several days before I happened to be at Harvey Norman - saw a Dunlopillo pocket spring with pillowtop [NOT told specifically that it was a Duchess so don't think it was] with free PVC leather bedframe [beige/brown/black] at $1199 + $50 Delivery - also a Dunlopillo Ortho at $799 with free bedframe + $50 Delivery After that I read up on mattresses by googling & reading such forums etc ..... And yes, I also went for the Furniture Expo Fair the previous Sun and simply walked out after a short round - waste of time ... Gain City had a very long queue tho ! Then took a cab for short ride to the Lorenzo Showroom nearby where we bought our sofa and dining set at discounted price
-
Yes with free bedframe - New new Duchess Mattress at $1299 plus gst [free delivery & disposal] + FREEBIES worth at so-called $899 i.e. 2 Dunlopillo Pillows + Dunlopillo Mattress Protector + "Designer Leather Bedframe" - of course I was not allowed to opt for the 'higher height genuine leather much-nicer 'more-designer-like' bedframe designs there - was told will be using 'better-quality' PU = Poly Urethane Leather [NOT PVC leather] for the free Bedframe [GSS Freebie] - chose a Curvy Headboard Model so can also sit up comfortably ..... So I guess this must be a steal at BELOW $1400 [including gst] !! Fingers crossed for next week's delivery [Minimum 7 days to do the bedframe] Well I had a horrible time looking for the place in unfamiliar territory - 2 buses to AMK Station + 'lost' taxi-driver after that .... hope it'll all be worth it after deciding not to check Orchard Courts & Robinsons first - after looking at ALL the Mattress Ads last Sat THIS seemed to be good bargain ...
-
Can you tell me what type of leather used here in the bedframe - PU or cheaper PVC type ? Any freebies like a pair of Dunlopillo pillows and mattress protector included with the New Duchess mattress ? Bought mine at $1299 [or $1389.93 with gst] at Affrenz at AMK Northstar ..... Tried getting a bolster too but not possible ..... was also hoping for "genuine/good grade" leather with the "Designer" ? BedFrame .. haha Just wondering whether there's a better deal/price elsewhere .....
