  1. It seems quite ex for me. My contractor quoted $800 for a feature wall, and $3K for entire house re-wiring. My painting cost $900. And my house is about 5 times bigger. To me, lightings can be bought reasonably from lightings.com.sg. If u want those nice chandeliers, u can set back about $200 (minimum). If it is just spot lights, 1 set cost about $18. typically, 4-6 sets u need. Since your studio is small, i take your glass partition like how a toilet partition would be. 2 glass panels. I was quoted about 800 (which was being commented high by RT-ers). Painting, i just divide by 5 for simplisticity. U probably will require < $4000. I think la.. lol. I also not an expert! hahaha U want u can try calling my contractor. Alan: 98892008. Check out my T-blog for the sliding doors we had for the room. If u need anything more, PM me =)
  2. Thx! =) How is ur floor plan like?

  6. I got my lightings from Palace Light (Balestier), along the same side of the road as the balestier plaza, after the famous chicken rice, near a junction. My downlights completed with a white 4-5" frame cost $18 each. I bought 16 of them

  8. From what we experience the additional costs are due to us adding stuffs in but not hidden costs

  17. Very pretty! let me know how the deal goes! =)
  18. Thanks! Actually quite slow cos he was rushing another flat for CNY. My friend's who started 2 weeks after me, is right on par with me. LOL. And there will be 3 weeks of break. =( Too anxious to see more! But, good that he only has this regular group of guys to do. So unlike of larger firm where ID draws draws and "subcontracts" to a large group of uncontrolled QA team. So, I am happy to just wait for the "old birds" to come in. Aircon installation in progress!! hehe ^^ Thanks! We wanted the tiles to be in living room but Alan said it would be not nice in such a large surface area, so i gotten it for 2 common rooms. MBR has a similiar pattern but slightly darker brown tiles. Hubby likes that, but I love this. So i get to have 2 rooms of it, and he has it in MBR. Smaller but i see it every night! grrr....
  19. Hmm hahaha.. okie i shall ask for IT-hubby help. =X
  20. Mine is 117 which coincides with our wedding anniversary Nov 7th! hehe. the one bside CC. Thanks!! =)
  21. Eh none... Why u wan his pic?
  22. Thanks Alan! It din really break the design, so we decided to just keep it. Ya, we sort of took it for granted. Lesson learned! Here are our progress: Day 1 - 20th December: Hacking Day 1 Day 4 - 23rd December: Loading debris to truck. Day 5 - 24th December: Loaded materials (cement, sand, tiles) Day 8 - 27th December: Filling up the walls with cement before tiling Day 10 - 29th December: Completed filling up of 2 toilets, kitchen and balcony walls. Day 21 - 9th January: Completed cement walkway @ entrance Day 26 - 12th January: Completed Toilet Bowl/Sink installation
  23. Nice! AH is providing a counter offer with the gain city $25 delivery. Will $759 with delivery a good deal?
  24. CNY is nearing and the works are slowing down. We had a few hipcups which can serve as learning points: 1. Shower head was installed @ the wrong wall. Instead of the "feature" wall, it was installed in another wall. But we give this a go-ahead still as the mistake was not a bothersome to us and to undrill, and re-tiled seemed too much work for us. 2. Sinks were delivered wronggly, but these had been installed before we verified. Two mistakes due to us not being there to check. Do all of you go regularly to check on the status during office hours? Here are our progress: Day 1 - 20th December: Hacking Day 1 Day 4 - 23rd December: Loading debris to truck. Day 5 - 24th December: Loaded materials (cement, sand, tiles) Day 8 - 27th December: Filling up the walls with cement before tiling Day 10 - 29th December: Completed filling up of 2 toilets, kitchen and balcony walls. Day 12 - 31st December: Tiled Kitchen (half) and Common Toilet Day 17 - 5th January: Completed Tiling for Kitchen, Common Toilet, MBR Toilet. Started Living Room tilings Day 18 - 6th January: Completed Rooms and almost there for living room. Felt the lines for our tiles are beautifully matched. Earlier, as we are building a TV room platform in Living room, we mentioned to Alan that is ok not to tiled below (to save tiles n $). Without telling us, he went ahead to tiles, absorbing on the cost, cos he felt that this is better, thru his experience.
