Oh really (hee I havent even said who did mine..oops.. ), mine is Italian Design Center/ Performance Coating.. The European lady, Nina, who helped me in choosing the effects is a very nice lady (and she looks like Julia Roberts!)..

Hi! Yes, you can do exotic color too! Kamal is a skillful applicator. He's with the company I engaged to do the effects (understand they are the only one in spore) and paint my house for me. Must say I got very reasonable package.

Entrance and Dining area effect: Ottocento White.. was told this effect was used in Space showroom too.. That's all for now.. Will come back on my TV Console wall effect later.. Oh yes, see part of the beam and corner are wrapped with bubble wrap? Find this useful to prevent knocking off paintworks when moving stuff into house..

My guest room effect: Aureum Gold My Balcony and MBR toilet (partial) effect: Roman Travertino Stone Marble. Once dried, its as hard as stone.. can paint over with whatever color you like, some use black and comes with shimmery effect! I chose to draw square on my balcony wall. Some draw rectangle, giving the brick look.. For my bathroom, I chose to go without lines as that makes the space looks bigger..and Kamal said this technique is newer too..

The 2 holes were made on my TV console wall for the purpose of concealing the wires, the top hole is for TV and the lower hole for AC. I like to cover the hole so that when I sit down on the sofa and look at the console, I see only a casing/box up rather than wires coming out of a hole. Hope this clarifies..

My Conclusion About Curtain Makers - Just Go For The Cheapest!
woody replied to Newie-X's topic in Home Furnishings
Hi, I bought mine in Msia, they have nice fabrics too. Total spent RM1800 (excl tracks which costs less than S$100). I did a Roman blind for MBR (3.3m x 1.5m), half length (3m x 1.55m) night curtains for baby room and guest room and a full length day curtain for living room (3.9m x 2.47m). PM me if you want the contact.. -
Nope..it feels very smooth, like laminate..but not laminate..

Hi all, anyone has a clue on how to mount a 1.2m diameter round granite table top onto a wooden table leg? Thanks in advance! Woody

Hey there.. can anyone (besides Jaskel.. ) guess what is this material on my MBR wall? Not laminate, not tiles, not vinyl, not stickers, not wall paper..

The wardrobe backing.. The Cornice guy..we wanted to conseal part of the wiring without false ceiling (as it is quite low at 2470mm) or it looking like a cornice. Hence, we inverted the light box holder and made it look like a beam instead. Cornice half done.. Legrand Mallia series. Much cheaper to buy at Choo Chiang Marketing which wholesales it. For instance, a 1-gang switch costs $1.70. White powdered curtain tracks..match my windows.. Ok for now... will update on the paint works soon..

The solution was to drill 2 holes and run it through the guest room behind this wall.. Now we are cracking our brains on what to use to cover these 2 holes though they would not be seen as one would be behind the TV and the other the TV console. The usual power point casing for single socket is too small and the double socket casing too big.. headache errh Any ideas anyone? Hey, I am back.. more photos.. On the eleventh hour, we decided to 'open' a hole on this wall (entrance on the left) separating the kitchen and dining area so as to throw some lights into the kitchen. Thank God, our contractor Kelvin, was very flexible to accomodate and did immediately 2 days after. So, still in time before painting work commenced. Whew! Didn't regret at all! We had originally wanted to hack this whole wall and push back the kitchen to expand the dining area and may be put in a dry kitchen but were disappointed to learn that the wall consists of a column. So, no hacking.. However, on the floorplan, the column was about 1.5m wide and our mistake not to measure it onsite before totally abandoning the idea. When we did measure, it was a little late to cos tiles were already up..Sigh! So open this hole to add alittle consolation.. Another example of mismatched measurement between floorplan and actual. My MBR bathroom entrance was measured 600mm but actual is 800mm. We have tomake the entrance narrower to add more space to our shower area behind the left side of entrance.

Reno jouney begins... For floor tiles, I must say that the tile choices are so much wider nowadays! From the rusty copper to the clean carara marble look! We went for a marble-look homogenious tiles beige with veins and even cavities! I've got a dog and baby, so need a 'dirt and stain durable' looking tile, you know what I mean.. For rooms, we were debating whether to use wood or tiles and decided on the latter to keep to budget. But must say that I love the wood strips!! Next round... we settled for a cream matt homogenous for a warm feel. Discussing with electirician uncle on how to conceal the TV and player wires. We didnt want to mount a platform or false wall.

Hi all, I am new but I've been following some of the threads here before beginning on my reno journey. Learned alot from you guys and must say a big thank you! I like to share my reno process here so other new owners can benefit too.. We've decided on a clean, simple, wood grains kinda theme for our living room, inspired by the scandinavian/Danish designs..
