Hi, I'm looking for this type of oil lamp for home use, anyone has any idea where I can buy it from? I see it in many temples. Also if you have any info about what type of oil, wick etc. to be used, that will be helpful. Thanks!

Hi All, Has anyone of you bought textiles from IKEA and used their sewing service (3rd party provider). Care to share your experiences? Thanks! TnJ

Nope, I did not. I tried to do a search to search for some info/post on La Cafa but the search system just didn't work for me. Later after I posted, I saw that my new message got added to an exisiting post on the same topic. Anyway, am glad for the honest feedback here about La Cafa, so for me it is a definite NO. TnJ

Hi All, Has anyone purchased any furniture from La Cafa? The store is on level 1 @Furniture Mall and sells all kinds of sofas, tables, dining sets & lights etc. I found they had a wide range of furniture with good workmanship & friendly service but not sure about the quality and durability of the leather. Pls share your experiences & feedback, if any on this place. Thanks! TnJ

It appears that they have so much business that they couldn't care less if prospective customers like us were served well or not. -
Ideal House Id
TnJ replied to bubblepearl's topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
Hi, I called up Ideal House on their land line today and some ID (couldn't catch his name) picked up. I said I want to meet an ID tomorrow evening and he says he is not available as he has another appt but said 'you can come tomorrow and if any ID is available, they will serve you'. Even when I gave him a specific time for tomorrow, he repeated the same thing and said 'weekends are very busy for us so I can't say for sure who will be free'. There was no interest from his side to even ask for an alternate time when he could see me or any attempt on his part to find out if any other ID is free. Do you think this is acceptable? Would it help if I contact an ID directly instead of a cold call like this? Can someone help by giving me contact details (mobile) of any good ID from Ideal House. TnJ -

Costed $38. The service there was quite ok. Initially as I was looking at all the seat covers, no sales staff came to help, they continued chatting amongst themselves. I had to ask one of them for the price and she mumbled something and quickly moved away before I could even figure out what she said! Soon after, a Mdm Quah came to assist and from then on, it was fine. After my purchase, as I was lloking at other accessories, she walked around with me, talking about promotions on kitchen sinks etc. and asked me to look for her when I came next. So for me, service is acceptable.

But am feeling better now that I know I am not alone and should I need help, you folks will help me out! Look forward to hearing more about your experiences. Will PM you with my specific questions. kardtoon: Yes, 3-4 mths before key collection sounds like a good time to start putting plans into action. Have started gathering basic info, as I have time, will go about slowly so that I understand things better and also have fun in the process! My question remains unanswered, can someone help pls? -
Floor Plan And Hiring An Id
TnJ replied to TnJ's topic in Landed & Condo Private Properties Renovation Discussion
Guess what? I did just that ... I bought Home & Decor and Home Concepts mags today .... plan to raid the library over the weekend to check for more info. So lots of reading to do in the coming days I went to lightings.com.sg @Jln Berseh a couple of days ago to check out the stuff there and the sales guy there told me that it was too early to even start looking around. He remarked that even if I liked and shortlisted something, no point 'coz by the time I'll be ready to buy, that make/model may not be available and new designs may have come. I think he has a point, although no harm starting to look around, just to get a feel of things. What say? Sorry if this is a silly question, but am a little 'duh when it comes to understanding lighting My unit is supposed to come equipped with 15-20 lighting points. What does this mean? Means switches will be provided? Can u pls explain in detail?
