Remove Water Stain On Shower Glass
catfish replied to taitaineo's topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
Depend how serious the problem & how long the stain mark is there.. In the past, I also tried many solutions, only one could solve... Just use White vinegar (clear solution, those for cooking), just spray on & wipe/rub.. The water mark is actually lime deposit.. it's from our water source .. overtime, it will form lime scale...so the vinegar is acidic..& create some chemical reaction.. BUT, pls ensure the vinegar DO NOT touch any marble stone.. else it will stain the marble.. I have another bathroom glass which has more serious issues, even white vinegar is not able to solve -
Where To Get Laminated Doors For Cabinets/cupboard?
catfish replied to matrix0405's topic in DIY Corner
I don't think those product by Basicdeco is lamination like those Formica type.. it's basically large size 'sticker'.. of cos, it could still achieve the 'face-lift' effect, but that depend on individual liking.. -
Hi, I have used those 2 part epoxy putty quite extensively in the past, you can get it easily almost anywhere in Singapore, even those neighborhood shop that sell 'cheap' item can get... (selling from $4.50 ~ $$6.0) Basically, just get equal amount of A & B "putty" , like those kid playdol.. & mix it with evenly with thumb ... it will dry rock hard few hour later.. But, I do not use it as wall hanging picture support.. mainly use it to repair those wall switch, after a while, the "nut" that suppose to secure the wall switch will tend to disintegrated.. & the switch screw has no way to secure it firmly on the wall .. so, I use this two part epoxy putty to re-build the screw hole ... Also, you can use this to fill in wall hole.. unlike those white general putty which is "soft" when dry (you can use your finger nail & depress on it) ..the epoxy based putty really harden like rock.... How much weight the putty epoxy can secure the wall hook really depend on your wall surface, if it's rough, the chances is good.. personally I have not tried it.. but do take note that, it's hard to remove. & will likely pull the paint/cement off together when remove... so why not drill wall hole to secure your picture if heavy? at least I trust my screw hole support more than any other 'glue' adhesive method

I believe your window/door frame is made of aluminium, those colour coating is normally done by a process called powder coating, which is impossible to be done at home DIY, as compare to normal solvet oil based paint.. if you want to change colour, I think the best you can do DIY is to paint it over, use masking tape to mask off the glass area (to ensure your paint line is straight), first do a undercoat layer, then follow by one or two layer of thin paint coat.. depend on your preference.. for me, I would prefer a matt finish than glossy for the upper coat.. BTW, Nippon also has some water based paint that suitable for this.. but undercoat & masking tape is needed for good result..

As rule of thumb, avoid drill directly above or below switches, power outlet, water tap. By default, cable, pipe normally run from ceiling down straight, so just need to avoid, for kitchen, if you have concealed gas pipe, need extra careful..normally, gas pipe area should hv a clear label to indicate conceal pipe. If you want 100% sure, just go sim lim to buy those metal detector, meant for conceal wall wire, pipe detection.
