Aircon guys applying caulk to close up the gap between the wall and trunking Done touching up.... Also MBR trunking slightly slanted Joining the R410 gas return pipe... initially I was a bit apprehensive about joining of tubes to extend for fear for leaks as time goes by, called my con and was assured it shd be ok.... so nvm, i took pics of the joints and if next time got anything happen *touchwood* this will serve as evidence....this is the point of likely failure... Joining the R410 liquid supply pipe

Aircon guys came down to run trunking and piping today... Class 0 insulflex Copper piping Common room piping done If looking closely, trunking is slightly slanted to allow condensation water to drain towards the bathroom MBR trunking done, waiting for piping and cabling

yah, as i won't be cooking much and staying too long in the kitchen, so can cut down on cabinet costs...
-
can also, screed smooth & paint low wall (which is usually built with hollow blocks). definitely more durable and protects the timber better.

i think the comparison as follows: PLC - needs magnetic ballast to work - may flicker when switched on - cheaper - consume more power PLL - require electronic ballast to work - instant-on when switched on (flicker-free) - downlights have electronic ballast built-in so will be more exp when replacing, no external components (eg, magnetic ballast) less propability of failure. so when replacing new PLL lights, everything is new. - consume less power

as the laundry area will be wet, it's best if can put up a low wall. using laminated cabinet will not last as long as water will soon find its way into the cabinet, resulting in popping of laminates and rotting of wood.

Can use Blum 971A or other third party dampers and fix next to existing hinges...

Blum hinge n clip-on damper set cost <$4 a set.
-
If the clip-on cost S$2.43 then it is expensive. If it's a set consisting of hinge n clip-on damper, then it's cheap.

i would say, it depends on the contractor. during reno i have this 2 pieces of ceramic toilet-paper holder and soapholder i requested him to remove w/o hurting the surround wall tiles, he gotten his guys to hack and remove only the two legacies and patch back nicely with new tiles... also as i was retaining my bath/wc tiles, he instructed his demo team to hack until few inches away where the old bifold doors were, then the tilers manually chisel off the remaining tiles w/o hurting anything else. so if the contractor want fast and easy work and good money, he will advise u to tear down everything.

Trunking near the gaspipe will be boxed up....so that kitchen lightswitch and heater switch trunking is not visible... Trunking at bathroom and WC... idea is to keep trunkings as concealed as far possible... Worth mentioning they even redo all the SCV and telephone wiring till the outside!!! Quality of the coaxial cables they provide is decent stuff, quite rigid, not the flimsy/soft easy-to-bend type... good stuff
-
Popped by again to see the progress... Cat5e cables run, LEN wires run and tucked into the ceiling trunking... My telecom/AC riser halfway thru... Lighting loops done up in MBR... ... and common room
-
best is get your contractor to stick his head inside and see what's that 2 rod.... if nothing special about that rod, cut it away or bend downwards, so it won't hang rubbish there lor...

it's more or less the same quality, just take note that those special types, eg, low odor types, all-in-one, wash & wear, light & space (very thin formulation that require multiple coats) are more pricey.... if not very particular about colors, matex will be value for money...
