My new panasonic fridge arrived yesterday :D it's the newest NR-BU343, 282-litre model with bottom freezer, not the inverter type but has annual power consumption of 460kWh, one of the lowest in the markets of similar capacity.... i learnt this from the salesman when I wanted to get the inverter series, he told me not to be blinded by the inverter hype and the more-ticks-frenzy, rather look at the NEA database of aircon/fridge sticker label that shows the lab-tested power consumption....which makes sense immediately loaded up with lots of beer and soft drinks...haaaa when choosing fridge take note of the clearance space on sideways and rear, as most fridges nowadays have their heat-exchangers installed at the sides, so a minimum of 5cm on all sides are to be observed, as the compressor will work less hard to dissipate the heat, translating to longer service life. at the same time, my 37" samsung is finally wall-mounted on the rotating console.... very clean and sleek-looking, all the 4 x HDMI/VGA/component/AC cables all tucked behind.... Samsung give me a VuePoint bracket (FOC) with effortless tilting mechanism to reduce stray light (glare from window reflections) but the overall thickness of the bracket is twice as thick as the tv itself.... but wth, free one, beggars can't be choosers....

bingo, got to make at least 2 trips, one for payment, the other for collection, subsequent ones for warranty returns or exchanges.....i believe this is the market practice for most retail businesses....if customer changes mind about the ordering, then the shop will be kena played out, so to protect themselves, they rather make the customer pay upfront & commit to what they have paid up....anyway, i dun feel good about revealing my CC # over the phone, as this can lead to fraud.... things might be different if one is a frequent-returning customer, where the shop will better trust them and let them order first w/o payment....

Cov - Where Is It Heading?
neubie replied to doraemon88's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
i would tinkg even 30k is not the intrinsic COV of a 3rm flat in AMK, much less 10k...more of a issue of 有价无市... -
Quote sent.... but keep in mind whichever contractor/ID u choose, they tend to be hesitant about giving discount after discount and nett after nett price before signing of contract, cos typical mindset of pple is to keep squeezing them until it cuts into their bones :D this maybe even worse for ID firms, as the final discount is not up to the ID (the ID is also working for the company so the firm also need to earn a cut on top of the ID commission)… tell ur missus, scouting for value-for-money contractor/ID is not like going to NTUC or market to buy groceries lor, it's the next big ticket capex after securing a flat...

Ideal Design Interior
neubie replied to dtft's topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
best of luck... many contractors/IDs there have similar or more years of experience, so long u are comfy with that, stick to that. but for me, it's better to be upfront with the quotation, once firmed up no upward revision of prices but downward revision of prices still welcome -

neubie replied to deerixp's topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
to get more quotes, give ur email and phone contacts to your contractors/IDs. my contractor told me for those who email him w/o hp contacts, he wouldn't bother reverting to them, since it's likely they are just fishing for quotations and prices nia... -
most shops dun keep ex stocks, lightings included. what you see are on display items and not for sale. did you call them and ask them to order thru the phone? or did u visit them, told them u wanted 7 pcs and made full payment for it? i tend to believe u did the former. this is not pizzahut home delivery wor....

Can be done. They'll have to be careful to remove that bad tile. Just be prepared for dust storms during the removal.
