  5. incidentally my contractor called me up, chatted with me, he promised to do up some bedroom furniture after CNY, he was telling me one of the flat-owner's 3rm took >2mths and still flooring not complete! being a helpful guy, he offered to help out that poor owner to speed up the reno, provided the owner asks his tortoise ID to terminate their existing contract, and he takes over.... no doubt it is really big hassle (sure lots of 手尾 with not much profit) to takeover some half-past-six job, but he's prepared to go thru all that dirty job just to deliver his promise ....
  6. some will promise consumers 5yrs warranty, but if the firm change name next year, what can they do? so dun be misled by all these bragging rights from the contractor/ID, what is impt is the contractor/ID is responsible, uses quality materials, does it once, does it good, no cutting corners in workmanship, owner happy at first sight, pays up balance amount and move on. incidentally my contractor called me up, chatted with me, he promised to do up some bedroom furniture after CNY, he was telling me one of the flat-owner's 3rm took >2mths and still flooring not complete! being a helpful guy, he offered to help out that poor owner to speed up the reno, provided the owner asks his tortoise ID to terminate their existing contract, and he takes over.... no doubt it is really big hassle (sure lots of 手尾) to takeover some half-past-six job, but he's prepared to go thru all that dirty job just to deliver his promise ....
  7. I find it hard to believe. my full height cabinet was also one continuous run from ceiling to floor. No joints in-between.
  8. u need to engage LEW to endorse the single-line drawing. ask ur electrician who did for u. may need to pay some $$$ one.
  9. shd be available at hafary @ balestier...
  10. Which is why resale in older estates are much preferred over new ones…
  11. my guess is traditionally pple prefer top-freezer than bottom freezer, that's why the typical design... like what u mentioned, ergonomics in design, the frequency of opening traditional freezer-top fridge and bending down to look what is inside, compared to the less-frequent opening of the freezer compartment...
  12. of all things equal, all fridges will degrade in efficiency as it ages, so all will increase energy consumption, what really is the matter? as the compressor is typically located at the bottom, the pipes used in bottom freezer is significantly shorter than traditional top-shelf freezer, so less heat is absorbed from the surroundings while the liquid coolant travels a much shorter distance to cool the freezer. this translates to higher efficiency, and compressor working less hard to overcome the unwanted heat losses.
  13. Ya, but will cause phase imbalance in current loading, ie yellow phase carrying excessive current compared to blue/red phase.

  18. yes, it belongs to 3-phase usage for industrial/commercial applications. HDB uses single-phase, so dun tink can be used. using it may trip ur incoming supply.

  22. i would think for younger pple, the choice of the mattress is not as critical as when one is 40+ yrs old where the back may start having some problems.... also i dun really believe those anti-bacteria anti-mite materials would really inhibit growth on them. instead of buying a 8000-dollar mattress and use it for 10years +, might as well buy a 800 dollar one and change every 2 years, or if one is anal about cleanliness, change every year...
