  1. First, i dun tink opennet will be in anytime suitable/ready for the HD content of TV, but even if it really is, you may need additional set-top box (like SCV/Mio) to connect. Yes, at least a 13A PowerPoint is required for u connect to opennet. The ONT requires external power to convert the fiber optic signals from the TP. The TP shd have a PowerPoint next to it to reduce wiring clutter. In fact I have 4 x 13A PowerPoint at my TP area… one for ONT, one for NAS, one for router, and one spare. Depends on how u want to connect your laptop to the Internet, if wirelessly u dun need any LAN cables (but link performance my not be 100% reliable and stable). If u connect with wired (which is best in terms of performance) then u need to ask ur electrician run LAN cables (cat5e) from the router ( where the opennet TP n ONT is located) to terminate at ur desired areas like MBR, bedroom01, studyroom, living room, etc. But of cos, gotta pay more la… so my advise is plan what u want n tell ur electrician before he completes the wiring work. my installation is such that all these cable clutter are kept out of sight and not dangling which is very eyesore... which is why all my IT eqpt is kept in the cabinet. PS: your mailbox is full.
  2. happy xmas... its a shame your black solid top is marred.... how did the scratch marks appear? dragging pots and glassware on the worktop? or u place boiling-hot stuff on the worktop surface? for acrylic-based worktops, always use some form of heat insulation mat to line (eg, cork board) the worktop before placing hot stuffs from them... the marks should be able to polish and buff off, but it will be real stink and dusty during the process...
  3. Prc ones cost $3+ psf. If u want eu ones it'll cost much more. Prc ones are generally ok, if u dun use the wrong tiles for the wrong usage, eg use wall tiles for flooring which is a no-no…
  4. $388 at Royal Fanco... flushing power is ok for small business, but a tad average for big business, depending on how stubborn are the "chocolate" stains :D cos nowadays, to save water resources, all WC bowls have to undergo water-efficiency testing and have ticks (the more ticks the more savings, like aircon and fridges). so some non-certified WC bowls have this "not tested for water efficiency" tag so you can expect the more ticks, the more water is conserved, but there maybe leftover chocolate after a full flush :D ...
  5. if gum & cheap & good, can organise MO on this :D
  6. best if u can post pics for us to see how bad is the problem before commenting... u can download photobucket app in iTunes, create a new free account, upload the photos and paste the link here...
  7. Got pics to show? Sometimes if your lift cannot fit in the entire cabinet then have to break up to smaller pieces n subsequently join up.
  8. Check with the shops there, sorry i dun have any info on that.
  9. Nopez, its the V60WK, 60" (1.5m 5-blade), not the 56" 4-blade model.... i am 1.73m tall, even with hands stretched out to finger tips oso can't touch the blades... but note that given the 95" ceiling-to-floor height, the fan should be mounted on the bare concrete ceiling.
  10. I am using the B version with blumotion, not the C version. you can check with the shops for availability of C version. Refer to the details here.
  11. i tink when it comes to household glass in the house, it has to be tempered glass for safety....
  12. IMHO, buy only when u need it, not forever waiting for prices to drop until ridiculously low.... if u buy say 6months at a warehouse sale (where jump-storey prices entice u) before u start using them, chances are u lose ur warranty coverage for that period of storage time... as electronic goods never appreciate in value, why buy first? for all u know, the price u bot 6mths back will be more expensive when u buy now.... so no point really in buying first and deliver (much) later....
  13. as always, the Chinese is real fast and good at producing 山寨products....
  14. think if not mistaken, yamaha AVR/amplifiers/pre-amps have their volume knob calibrated in negative values of dB (decibels), 0dB (most clockwise) being the loudest and -∞ dB being softest (most anti-clockwise). in audio-engineering this should be the correct notation since the human ear response of sound is logarithmic. to get a fairly loud playback volume, the knob should be around 9~11 o'clock position. but this will depend on the efficiency of the speakers in question, as some models require more power to make it sing louder, while some dun need that much power to attain similar sound pressure level (SPL).
  15. Try Yeo Soon Hin plastic Signcrafts. If u see hawker centre drink seller containers selling soya bean or grass jelly, those are polycarbonate…They make different thickness of polycarbonate plexiglass. Acrylic will cost more than polycarbonate, will also blur under prolonged sun exposure. 633 Veerasamy road #01-130 S(200633)
  16. wow! very excited about ur reno journey huh? :D , rem to post more updates....
  17. What are the procedures involved if a person is unable to service monthly instalment of hdb housing when: (1) loan from banks (2) loan from HDB Does both categories follow the same exact procedures to liquidate the property, of which the sale proceeds is first paid back (incl interest accrued, admin charges, penalty charges, etc), then refunded back to CPF or in cash (where applicable)?
  18. this can happen if the tiler overfill the concrete base with too much cement in the centre, making it convex in the centre. fill too little cement makes it concave.... either way should not be acceptable at all as the loading and weight distribution of the cabinet is not uniform across the entire surface area. think nothing much can be done (since the cabinet is done up) but to stuff some wooden strips inside and seal off with silicone.
  19. i sold my 5yr old car with a faulty cd player but fm working, no problems. post-handover, that is no longer my problem, anyway, these dealers will know what to do and are prepared for such things, since they can't expect a 10yo car to be in perfect working order wor, from owners point of view, why shd they throw some more money to get rid of the car???
  20. if the aftermarket parts cost more, then u can replace it with a non-working model and let them scrap it, since it may no longer be renewed.
  21. forgot one thing though, better ask ur electrician to make the split for u, as special tools are required to splice and make the cable connectors... good luck.
