A Resale Owner's Worst Nightmare
neubie replied to neubie's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
Some have complained openly to ST forums abt hdb not enforcing this. Their lame reply was it's difficult to get sellers to provide their new address. So what can they do??? -
yes, diamond brand AC-powered clock. runs very zhun one! u can still find it in the older coffeeshops in tiong bahru.....

Sliding is easier to maintain than louvre type, but usually is frosted type for privacy.... on the right side of this kitchen entrance this should be the gas-pipe, you can always call up citygas to reroute the gasmeter outside the unit. I did mine also.... think if not wrong, ur block is the pioneer batch where the MUP was done at a cheap 3k+ cost to get utility room, retrofit toilets..... your floorplan is the exact mirror image of mine.... hehehe

Prices you see here are very detailed liao. Reno cost excludes fixtures, lighting, sanitary, white goods, etc) and include aircon. If exclude aircon, it is 23k. See if ur con or ID can match or better the offer, lagi for u

Apologies, my mistake, I am using Genie series 14W warm-white lamps which has a lifespan of >4 yrs based on average daily operating hour of 5 hours...

All fluorescent lighting MUST come with some current-limiting devices such as ballast, be it magnetic (choke) or electronic ones. Philips sells E27 PLL lamps (aka tornado lamps) that comes built-in electronic ballast and will cost slightly more expensive. so it would appear that their bulbs need not use ballast. I am using their flicker-free instant-on philips tornadoes. so far so good.

bingo. cables can buy from LHS (look for Robert), faceplates can try DavJones at basement 1 of SLT. you can either use ur own router or ISP-provided huawei RG. but note there has been some negative reviews on this 100base-T router.

Maybe can check on dorma hold-open closer but this stealth unit is cool.... Invisible hydraulic spring, completely inlaid in the door and jamb

it's normal that flats built during that time are low-height ones but room area per se is unmatched by flats built in recent years.... budget is perpetually an issue for reno, so gotta decide what is needed, filter out superfluous stuff from the basic essentials... when SCV first done up my parents flat, they used 1" trunking to hold the coaxial cable.... shortly after they left, i removed the covers and relaid additional 3 cat5e cables side-by-side to the coax cable and so far i am still getting the the rated speed (up to sustained 78mbps for a 100base-T connection) w/o problems. usually communication signals are low-amplitude signals and with the inherent shielding/screening from the cables, do not cross-interfere with others. for DIY running of cables is possible, but u got to get the required materials (trunking, RJ45 faceplates, and tools. trunkings are best nailed to the walls rather than using doubleside tape to paste onto them. leave generous slack on both ends to allow for mistakes in terminating the connections, observe proper RJ45 wiring color code when punching the cat5e cables and RJ11 wiring color code test with router and pc and telephone to ensure connections are ok. other than that, a little patience and hardwork is all u need.

very ex. usually haulage is charged per floor of labor charges if the lift does not stop at your unit.

acherly, the step-on rubber stoppers installed at the bottom of door will not really provide good friction onto ur smooth homo tiles, as the rubber feet will not "bite" onto the smooth floor. Initially i wanted my door installer to install one of these, but told me no point..... maybe can consider those hydraulic autodoor closer mechanism to slow down the opening...

Headache With Housing Loan

hmmm, need go check.... tink is legal fees which my bank subsidize....may be i rem salah liao.... -
i doubt those dehumidifier is effective in any room at all... i mean, yes u can shut windows/doors for the dehumidifier to remove moisture in air, but the moment u open, the air gets replaced with moist air. so how dry can the air get? is like aircon trying to keep a room cool with open windows/doors, how cool will it get? same theory for dehumidifier the surrounding air is never dry, so it's a waste of $$$ and electricity trying to do that.

Headache With Housing Loan
neubie replied to coldshot's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
Hdb loan got good and bad. First bad point I can think of is the higher but flat interest rate u have to pay when servicing monthly loans. Compared to bank loans their rates are much lower, so one pays less for the interests accrued.
