nice reno u got there. however, please be wary of the inferior quality of IKEA's cheap furniture. i had bad experience in just ten weeks after installation. the edges started developing ugly hairline cracks. i called them up to take back their stuff and give me a refund.

Possible For Led Downlights To Cost $110-120?
neubie replied to Erwinong's topic in Electronics & Electricals
go for megaman. currently the market leader in commercial, industrial and residential LED solutions. -
bro, ask for a full refund of the expedit shelves. insist on cash refund, not credit refund nor vouchers.

there are other types that has its gas-filled or oil-filled dampers integrated inside the hinge assembly, far slimmer than Blum. and cheaper.

post the quality of works done here to show they done a bad job.

new things are always nice looking one, after a while scratches from daily use will render u immune to it. same applies to a new flooring or repolished one. after all, the granite flooring is factored into your cov. hacking it means literally throwing your money to the drain n spending more to redo.

keep us posted of the outcome to see if they can make good.

normal for hdb/condo. nothing much u can do. but if u can plan from the start, the non-parallel wall/floor edge can be "hidden" by larger furnitures like wardrobe, bed, sofa, cabinets, carpets, etc, u can tell ur ID/contractor to start with a datum edge.

one thing for sure, irrespective of which contractor is tasked to do, ALWAYS station there to supervise their work, so any issues can always be highlighted to them without delay. that will ensure minimal unhappiness. -
Buyer Beware Gain City Aircon Installation

how can u be so sure it was them who damaged your tub? why was the defect not highlighted within the day which they left? this type of case nobody will be in a right mind to admit liability. -
Materials That U Regret Using/ Installing
neubie replied to st002's topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
there's different grades of stainless steel. if u see songcho Welmi's bathroom products, they are REALLY rust-free, so good that they provide LIFETIME warranty for all their products. downside is it is expensive, but you do get what u pay for. -
smooth plastering does not equate straight n flat walls. its during reno then u will see hdb construction quality is lousy....walls slanted, crooked, not right angle with adjacent walls. the only time u can see straight flat walls is when they use gypsum board to make L-boxes n covelights. live with it. manage your expectations well. u should only evaluate after they complete the painting works.

Air-Conditoner - How Does System 4 Works?
neubie replied to uris's topic in Electronics & Electricals
yes, u answered most questions correctly. dun really need to find out how the compressor distribute cooling power to the rooms. what's impt is your usage habits n patterns. just buy something that suits u. -
just some random questions. was the aircon properly installed? are new pipings run or old ones reused? are the liquid-supply and gas-return pipes properly evacuated before installation, flared properly when joining? pressure test done?

If the bracket is properly tailored (the 4 metal legs sit squarely on the L-bracket), no bolting is necessary.
-
responsible for life? dun think so. is the same as ensuring the casement windows are in good working condition n dun fall off n crash to the ground. dun worry too much about the bolting. just enjoy ur new flat.
