So did u yourself end up wearing lead-based products to ward off such issues?

Oh ok, I think I can sleep without staring at a gaping hole

Did he read your bazi and if yes, does your bazi have such problems in the next few years? Whose this master who interpreted bazi & your name for you?
-
Hi sukizo, Surnames, which r also known as family names, have no bearing on good or bad just based on the chinese characters alone. There is very little effect as to whether your family name is Tan, Lim, Koh, Yeo, etc. However, when combined with the other 1 or 2 chinese characters which is known as the "name" of the person, it will have a bearing on them. And I do agree that a name must support your bazi. E.g. if a person's bazi reveals that he/she is prone to a sickly constitution and has a very high chance of dying young, say in his/her 50s, then the chinese name must not suggest the same occurences. Otherwise, sure die one lor... unless that person has placed in alot of effort to change their destiny, which has happened before but is extremely tough. So your name cannot be interpreted independently but should be read in conjunction with your bazi. If you can figure out who are some very successful references here in Singapore, you will notice that they do not have chinese names which are considered as excellent or good by geomencers. But they are very very successful in their lives. And can even become the rulers of countries! So if the person's bazi is good, they are destined to be somebody great in this lifetime, then, the name will have very little bearing in life. Also, there is no such thing as a perfect name with a perfect score of 100 marks. U need to work hard to make good things happen

Hi csingeu, thanks for the translation If I didn't recall wrongly, 空亡宅 refers to lands which are suited for being occupied by temples & police stations only. Not suitable as residence.
-
Hi lalaland, Is this lifang master whom u're referring to a taiwanese & she'll need to obtain your date & timing of birth prior to the actual appointment for bazi evaluation?

Hi thanks for sharing... Whoa but so many chinese words... what's does it say? Can summarise briefly in a say 1 or 2 paragraphs?
-
Hi sukizo, U r definitely on the right track with such a shrewd mentality Name changes are not to be trifled with. But is/are there any reason/s why you would want a change of chinese name?

sounds really eerie By the time bad things happen, it's too late... which is why a relative of a temple medium shared with us that we better don't associate closely with those who had pixiu placed in their homes, becox we will never know. 1 ah pek who used to have a statue of a 3 legged frog which has also been "kai-guang-ed" with a talisman placed inside it; and not sure what happened. He did become rich but when he shifted to a new place, the frog was being neglected. I think it was dumped on the floor with lot's of newspapers being stacked on top. Then, eventually, terrible things happened to him & his family. And rumours were that it was associated with the froggie which he had "kai-guang" many years ago.

Now that your reno is completed, u must try to rescue your $ tree. Lillian Too says that plants thrive well & r happier if they are grown in pairs. And in her case, she claimed that she talks to her $ trees regardless of whether she's happy or sad. I talk to my trees too. Especially if I need to prune them at night or "disrupt" them during the night. I'm definitely sane but I talk to them & even apologise for disturbing them. Also told them that I have to prune them to make them "swee-swee" (pretty). They do grow very well & it's rewarding to see how the first pot of ginger plant which I brought back, growing so huge & happily next to the 2nd pot. Try it!

That is alot worse becox it meant creating poison arrows that would shoot into the house! Worse off. Haiz... I'm actually more worried as to whether I would be able to sell off at a good price or not after 6-8 years later, when it's a favourable time for me to shift to another new place Fengshui is getting more & more popular nowadays and clients hunting down for homes are pretty knowledgeable nowadays. Maybe I'll have to sell off to non-Chinese. Aiya, worry later lah

Hi h4happy, Thanks for responding to my comments It's really useful information that U've given. many many thanks.

Greed is an attribute which every human has but that craving varies from small to big. So I should think that those who think that they can have free lunches without putting in any hard work, probabbly asked for it when things go wrong. Even for people who kept winning when they gamble, it's advisable that they make good use of their winnings. Otherwise, nobody knows what will happen to make them lose all the $$. From my perspective, things which are already "kai-guang" are dangerous. How do we as layman who didn't "kai-guang" on our own, know what sort of things are chanted or said to those objects already? And those so-called kaiguang objects like the sacred pixius, must be treated or dealt with in the correct manner, otherwise, might end up in a disastrous state at the end of the day.

Hi huatdy, I've already PM-ed you the priest for seng hong temple yesterday. It's strongly advised that u check wtih the priest to solicit correct advice. If it is indeed essential for you to "park" your ancestor's tablets at a temple for the time being, the priest there will be able to further advise you becox the seng hong temple is affliated to san qing gong (temple) at bedok. This other temple at bedok is for ancestor's tablets & worship. Unless you would like to take the risk, otherwise, it's best for you to pay money to seek proper advice in consulting a professional who could deal with it. I do agree with bk888 that ancestral objects cannot be experimented with because it could bring about undesirable outcomes.

I cannot recall the reason but the advice is cannot put fish tank in the bedroom. U can try to google up some explanation. Take a look at this link on fish tanks in bedrooms: http://www.geomancy.net/oldbrowser/resourc.../bbs-plants.htm It says the following: Water in the form of an aquarium or a fish tank is not good to be placed in a bedroom. This is because fishes swimming in the fish tank do generate yang Qi and again as the bedroom is a place of rest (yin) it is not ideal to have a fish tank in the room. Even symbolic paintings such as a scenery of sea waves, or water `hitting' against coastal rocks are best left out in the bedroom. But without any reference to fengshui, the water generating from the filter is noisy enough to keep light sleepers, like myself, awake tonight. The next day, I'll fall sick so to me, it's bad fengshui. My bedroom should be soothing & have a calming effect for my mind to rest. However, there are people who breeds animals, including fishes, who sleeps with them in the same bedroom. I used to know of this wierdo who knocks down his MBR & common room just to rear dogs... and he slept & eat with them in the same room. Can imagine how unhygenic it was! Even his sibling couldn't stand it. Say, is there a special reason for you to want to install the fishtank in the bedroom?

hehehehe... it's good to have some knowledge in fengshui No harm becox if they know how to use it, they can help IKEA sell more furnitures too!

No obstruction, can still easily access to those pipes... Ur $ tree looks good
-
But wouldn't those plants obstruct pathway when the inspector or contractor or whoever needs to access those pipes? If it doesn't, I don't think there is any harm putting potted plants there. That's if there's sunlight & those plants would thrive I'm a plant lover myself I know what u mean about fengshui master telling you pessimistic stuff like the flat is not suitable and u need to shift to another. But it really depends becox if the master could adjust the fengshui for owners, he/ she would do so because shifting away from homes cited as unsuitable should be the last resort. i.e. no choice, becox no fengshui cures at all. And it depends on the master's skills & depth of his mastery in fengshui too. Some who hasn't achieved much depth would look for an easy way out, i.e. to get their clients to shift out without any solutions. Or worse still, audit & give wrong recommendations. Like recently, I watched Joey Yap's DVD on fengshui, borrowed from NLB and was abit sad that my flat's exterior was considered poor fengshui formation. Because my main door "clashes" with the neighbour's "wall corners", which according to Joey Yap, is terrible fengshui and that we should avoid buying such property or shift. To make it worse, the Qi pool which collects infront of my home, where the lift lobby is, leaks out of a huge decorative hole and that hole is nearer to the lift lobby. He said if no choice, then change position of the door but with such a recommendation, there are other issues with the interior fengshui of the home. And he also emphasized in his DVD that tilting of door to face the favourable direction of the owners is not good enough a reason for tilting one's door. There must be something very bad, for such a dire need to tilt the door. And with tilting of door, the doorway becomes narrow. Yes, that makes alot of sense. My taiwanese master got us to tilt our gate, emphasized that it must be tilted within 3 months, max delay 6 months from his audit (no need to shift becox after tilting, the flat's fengshui will be considered average), but we didn't implement his recommendation until last year, i.e. 10 years after his first audit. And things did pick up & improve for us as owners to such a flat. Check out his DVDs becox his fengshui segments are pretty comprehensive. And makes alot of sense. I was glad that I got to watch his DVDs Helped me to understand all about Qi at a beginner's level.

I think so must be lah... But I picked that up not from my buddhist studies but from Master Neo of KX International's videos on his website. He said that only the dead sleep with their heads pointed to the west. However, according to my granny, she said that it's rubbish becox my grandfather who just passed away last year, had been sleeping with his head pointed to the west and he lived till 101 years old last year. If a person's mind is strong, he/ she might not be influenced by these thoughts (that only dead face the west).

Hi, My sister who had her flat audited by tan khoon yong from wayonnet also said that she was given similar advice. Meaning that, my brother inlaw whose carrying the guanyin, had to walk backwards into the living room from the main door. But until today, she & her hubby doesn't know why? Is it becox Guanyin is supposed to look out of the door - like creating a visual field for her that this is the home she's being invited to? Any idea? If yes, please do share!

Hi HDBnew, thanks for wishing me well too Woa, need to spend alot of $ to relocate... But is it necessary for such drastic measures? It'll cost you alot of $$. I think HDB will be very happy becox you'll line their purses with $$. Tell u what, did u try to casually take a stroll on every floor below & above your unit to see how the other neighbours dealt with their doors facing the pipes? However, even if u see them hanging gadgets at the main door or whatever, I wouldn't recommend that u attempt any "stunts" without any fengshui know-how. U can only use their fengshui cures as a reference. That's if u get what I mean, becox it might not work for you or it might invite other troubles. If you are engaging a fengshui master, he might be able to devise a recommendation for those pipings. Are you considering engaging any fengshui master to take a look first before you do anything drastic?

I would advise you to look for another flat, possibly one that is in move-in condition WITHOUT any built-in cabinets or wall papers. However, chances are you may still need to pay a relatively high COV even for move-in conditions if the location is very good with amenities or a popular spot that's in great demand.

I read somewhere that the chinese believe that only the dead faces the west. However, like what mae29 said, it doesn't apply for everybody. R your gas pipes & water pipes exposed? Mine is directly beside my door but hidden by metal doors. And the unit diagonally across us is facing those pipes (the metal door actually). Don't worry too much... no point losing sleep & growing wrinkles over such stuff. Be happy as life is short!
