Oh dear, I do not see how wearing leopard prints could lead a person into what u've mentioned about becoming $$ minded. They are my favourites. If u've followed through high fashion faithfully, animal prints, especially the leopard spotted ones are always the rage towards (I think) the autumn season in the high fashion industry. It is a "haute couture" line of clothings as suggested by the French. It is also a hot favourite of many tai-tais out there who wears them with such panache (great style). Some leopard printed pieces in those high fashion boutiques like LV, GUCCI and the like, could cost up to $15,000 for just a short dress. Those prints are a must-have for that prevailing season every year for those women who looked really good in them. And to be candid, not all women out there look good in leopard prints. Some look really slutty aka "ah-lian-ish" in the "Singlish" lingo. Those socialite tai-tais pull their leopard spotted styles really well if you get to mingle in their social circles. At least in LT's case, I think she still looks pretty gorgeous in them for her age.

I'm not sure if it's the same "weight" thing becox I normally zoom in on those juicy bits of K-PO news - sensational ones or scandals. But if u have the chinese alamanac ("tong-shu" in chinese), u can turn to the page that talks about "chen-gu-ge" : "weighing of bones song" (translation to English); I know it sounds very funny hahaha but that's what it's known becox for every type of weightage, u will get a poem that will describe the most significant happening as summarised in those few words. Use ur lunar date of birth & year to do the calculation based on the table shown under this section of the almanac. Very easy to follow. e.g. teresa teng has 3.6, which says something like she doesn't need to work very hard thru out her life, independently established her own homestead as her luck isn't "light" (means somebody with extremely good fortune), already has the god of fortune smiling & backing her up at a very young age, she can do whatever that she wants & will be successful in terms of $$ & fame - my translation might not be a 100% becox my chinese isn't that great but the meaning is more or less there. And it's true that she is very famous & popular at a very young age, a mega star in the entertainment industry but if u noticed, the poem doesn't tell u everything, she's heartbrokened many times in relationships. e.g. president ma ying-jiu in taiwan has 3.8, is a "weight" for court officials, i.e. dealing with politics. It says that this person has a very noble character among all the "weights", the 2nd section is too "cheem", I don't know how to read & interpret, he has to wait until after 36 yrs old, then this person will take off his blue robe & change it into a red robe. During the ancient times, there are many ranks of court officials. The highest rank will dorn on a red brocade robe, middle rank will wear blue & the lowest rank will wear green - hey I just noticed that this colour codes are shown in those Korean period dramas! Wikeapedia says that: "Ma Ying-jeou started working for President Chiang Ching-kuo as Deputy Director of the First Bureau of the Presidential Office and also the President's English interpreter. Ma was later promoted to the chair of the Research, Development, and Evaluation Commission under the Executive Yuan at the age of 38, becoming the youngest cabinet member in the ROC government." - which is pretty accurate becox he did indeed move up the rank after 36, i.e. 38 yrs old. Also, do not be mistaken that light "weight" means no good, it depends on what's written in the poem. Some could have heavy weights but the outcome that led to such weights could be very very bad or sad... that they rather not have those $$ or luck. ok, long writeup from me, so end of story liao...

Hi bk888, my remarks apply in general to the rooster cohort. Even among that same zodiac, born in the same year, there are variations becox of timing of birth & date. Depends on bazi. And of course, family environment, upbringing, discipline since young, etc. All these are very important aspects for all kids regardless of zodiac sign. But thus far, I noticed that roosters are generally successful & I'm always amazed at their luck If you believe in bazi, then you could check out the "weight" of her "bones" from the almanac. That will give you an indication of the most significant summary of ur sister's life. Unless the bazi is wrong, otherwise, it's very accurate. The roosters from my side of family & my husbands are all very "heavy", the lightest is 五两,四钱 and the "heaviest" is above 六两. The interpretation from the almanac is very accurate.

Hi bepgof, I'm sorry if I'm being very harsh with words. Ur wife is very lucky to have a husband (urself) who takes ur marriage vows so seriously. Even if resumes could be written by others, nobody could attend interviews for that person. Maybe it's becox of family environment where we've received very strict discipline since young, very independent. Every child does his/her own stuff without bothering others. But if a person is born in the year of rooster, and has a better bazi than others in general, they have to work hard with the correct motivation to enjoy that smooth-sailing luck. Family environment in grooming the rooster child is very important. I've got friends who are lazy roosters too but they are very clear as to what they want in life. They are never genuinely bored people because they've got many friends. p/s: I've got a sneaky suspicion that ur wife is trying to get ur attention in whining you into writing her resume for her
-
That's a very very lazy rooster with a poor attitude. The rabbit should jux ignore the rooster & let her "rot" at home becox nobody owes her a living.

I would like to apologise in advance because what I'm going to say here sounds really upsetting & might be viewed as insulting to the owner of this discussion topic. I strongly agree with many of you guys out there who said no-no to such a FS strategy such as tapping on a family member's luck (in this case, the son of the owners for the flat). I don't think it's a good idea to keep tapping on ur son's luck. Since the flat benefits ur son, it's advisable to compound on that luck for him instead of "sucking" it away by collecting his earnings way in advance. How I view what ur FS master has recommended might be transferring or channelling his luck away from him. On the contrary, nothing would be better than for parents to want the best for the child's future. Although, I do agree that some children are here to either repay parents or become a burden to them, if the child is indeed there to give parents such luck, the parents would have strike with all kinds of numbers whether they belong or don't belong to the kid. What I'm sharing here is based on personal experiences of myself, family members & very close family friends. This is regardless of the FS for the flat. The minute those kids were born, their parents start striking 4D. Those are really kids who are here to repay their parents. Nothing to do with the FS for premises because that is their bazi where they are destined to bring wealth & luck to their parents or even spouses! The thing about 4D is that all those $$ aren't hard-earned but it's an unexpected windfall - that could be said to be given by God. God doesn't give free lunches becox those $$ are given as they'll come in need one day. Might not be now, but later on, could be few years down the road or even 30 years later. For some, it's as late as 50 years after their big winnings. The nett amount "won" might be zero or even negative for many persons after they had no choice but to use up the $$. Lottery winnings are $$ that come really fast & for things that comes fast, they go off fast too! It comes with a price tag as suggested by a few RT members in their previous entries in this discussion thread. Nothing comes free as far as I'm concerned. There were just too many of such cases we've witnessed on our own as both kids & through adulthood. Right now, if u keep buying ur son's numbers, u are gambling on his behalf. Even though the poor boy is an innocent party who doesn't partake in any of these acts, nobody knows what impact it'll have on him later on. In other words, there are chances that you might be using up his luck. And nobody knows when that luck runs out. Also, those $$ that's won from lotteries might be his future earnings. My advice: Since you've both made winnings out of 4D by riding on ur son's luck, it would be highly recommended that you contribute some percentage of those winnings to charity i.e. to temples, needy in old folks home, orphanage, etc. In doing so, you are also accumulating merits on behalf of your son. If you believe in such a concept, you are helping ur son do good deeds in return. The rest of the winnings, to be put aside for his education. That's my 2 cents worth of advice. There is an old saying from the elderly that when parents tap of their children's luck to make such winnings, it's known to "折孩子的福" (hope the chinese words are grammatically correct becox my chinese isn't that good). As such, you should also clarify with ur FS master if what he has recommended is going to have any side effects on ur son or family, no harm asking. Be safe than sorry.

Fs Strategy To Encourage Reading/study
edenstrauss replied to kalimantan's topic in Geomancy/Fengshui
I agree with both muffin & bepgof's ideas about FS. But FS is not a cure-it-all otherwise there wouldn't be emotionally & mentally disturbed people out there... *sigh* -
U can just buy them from any hardware shop near ur home. Or if u want to visit those branded DIY shop, try calling homefix DIY stores for enquiries: http://www.nce-electrical.com/homefix.htm

Wow u got alot of $$ leh... to change all doors & frames. I never change all these stuff so long as they r still in good condition & can be used when I buy resale flat - save $ unless the place I bought is freehold, otherwise the reno cost is considered as a sunk cost (can't get back the $)...
-
Hi bepgof, Care to make it plain & simple instead of telling looooooooooong stories? I'm "brain-dead" already from clearing a mailbox full of messages - so need u to enlighten me on the message told in ur story about donkey & his owners... But what will you do if you're in booties' shoes - i.e. pertaining to those nails found embedded in all ur door frames?
-
Hi kalimantan, U r very lucky that u were born in the year of rooster. Thus far, I noticed that people born in the year of roosters don't seem to have much downfalls. Have but rare or they pick themselves up really fast. I've many roosters from my side of family and they have very "wang" bazi: $ luck is very good becox god of fortune seems to be smiling at them even during their "fan- tai-sui" years. And the best part is that some of these relatives were staying in premises with poorer FS than me & my hubby. But they are alot more richer & luckier than us in terms of money, & other aspects. So, I think bazi has a great impact above all else - FS might be there to play a supportive role for those with very good bazi. I rarely see roosters out of job also... They always have the ability to hold on to their rice bowl in general.

Hey, do u think it's a good idea to call up wayonnet & simply ask any of their sales consultants if they have any idea if a nail in all the door frames would mean anything bad from the fengshui perspective? I'm suggesting this becox there is no harm in trying to play extra safe... if u get what I mean. Sometimes out of good will, their staff could offer abit of advice if it's within their knowledge. Just call them & ask. see if U could get anything constructive out of them.

Thanks for sending a PM regarding those stars u have mentioned in ur comments in this discussion thread but I have no idea what those meant. I am not professionally trained in geomency. Please check with the FS master who audited ur flat becox he will be in the best position to advise you.

Hi bepgof, it's not so serious at this point in time, but thanks for helping

Hi all, I'm very sorry if I've inadvertently offended anyone out there for my previous entry in this discussion thread. But it is not intended for blaspheme of any religions. It's strictly for illustration purposes. The same FS problem will apply regardless of whether it's a church or mosque or any buddhist/ taoist temple or religious building. Hence, I humbly ask for your kind understanding if my previous entry has provoked any discomfort on any readers or RT members. Please accept my sincere apologies if my comments are viewed as offensive as that was not my intention. aside to kalimantan: thanks for reminding me I got so carried away with illustration that I forgot myself...

Did u notice the nails on the door frames when u were in the midst of viewing & wanting to buy the house? Or did u notice it only after u bought & shifted into the premises? Nope, I'm not advising you to pay & consult Indian geomencers. And the local FS masters here might not be aware of cross-cultural practices. So, it might just end up nowhere if you jux wanted to know the reason for the nails driven into the door frames. I was just wondering if you could casually call up & ask those Indian geomencers. I would suggest that you just call up any Indian temple & have a casual chat with their office; I'm sure they won't turn you away if they know something about the nail being embedded into the door frames. And, you could also check with the catholic priests, but in my thoughts, preferrably, with those European Fathers becox if it is anything amounting to pagan practices, they will have a better grasp of the culture in view of their background. An Indonesian acquiatence whose a Roman Catholic, explained to me that the nail embedded in the door frame may be used to keep evil forces out of all the rooms and this could be a pagan practice that came from the Latin American region. Not sure what he's said is true becox only the owners themselves would have the answer as to why they did it. But U're prudent to think that you'll need to know the reason before arriving at a decision how to proceed from here. My hubby's pakistani client bought a condo that had a bagua with a scroll-like gadget placed outside the windows of one of the rooms. He told us that he left it there (for the past 6 years) & didn't want to remove it becox he's not sure what effect it'll have on his family whose staying in there.

If Fengshui or geomency is not an issue, you could paint your living room a light ivory, which is very popular becox it makes spaces look larger & it is also a contemporary colour used commonly by many home owners. The next option is white, that's if you wouldn't find it boring. But chocolate would go with ivory. If you want more ideas, you might want to consult the customer service personnel at Nippon Paint. I've received very good service & ideas from them over the phone & through catelogue. And do not have ur rooms clattered with furnitures where possible. Since ur sofa is a chocolate brown, u might have to go for white furnitures or a very light sand-coloured furnitures (should go well with ur choco sofa set). Also, make sure that the colour of ur floring is light-coloured. And to choose good quality floor tiles with high gloss (high shine; u'll not regret it after 20 years). If u've got a designer, it'll be ideal to consult him/her who might be in the best position to recommend based on ur requirements. Good luck!

Wow what u're asking on this discussion thread is so "cheem" i.e. abstract for a layman like me. Might have to be addressed by FS masters themselves or people with FS expertise. I don't have annual FS audits but I get my flat audited once in 3 years becox the FS cycle doesn't remain stagnant. And when such periodical FS audits are done, the FS master is supposed to take into consideration how the FS in your premises & around it, will affect the owners' luck cycle for that particular year. And the FS master is supposed to recommend them what special things to do and/or put in certain parts of the house. Thus far, I was asked to put up paintings, mini portable waterfall (b/.w $30-$50) or even a fish in a small bowl of water at certain spots. Or put up certain type of plant at a particular position. Or put up a globe on my computer table, etc... Or put up a 春联 somewhere. No coins, No gourd. I think the basic layout should remain the same in general based on the first-time audit. Then, thereafter, the rest of the changes that come for annual audit should be minor ones. Unless there is a major change to ur external environment e.g. a huge building coming up directly opposite with a pointed rooftop - that supposedly shoots "poison arrows" into units that faces the building directly. Then, maybe that might warrant a major change. But even then, my friends were told to simply mount a huge bagua outside their windows. The rest remains the same. Over in my neighbourhood, a catholic church was built, facing a row of flats. Many of the residents staying at one of the blocks, which was directly facing a huge giantic cross embedded into the church's wall, saw a huge cross facing their living rooms or bedrooms (for some units), had their own FS remedies. Some put up bagua, but an aunty whom we knew, stayed in one of those units, had installed roller blinds & have it partially drawn down jux to keep out the cross from her vision when she is in the bedroom.

Paiseh... becox u're an expert in FS field so thought u might have some valuable insights to this discussion thread.

There was this Indian movie of a group of villagers who manufactured a bullet in gold to kill a vampire. Do you think you'll like to check with the priests from any roman catholic church? Also, to check with FS masters what the nail at the door there denotes in our chinese culture. I do not think they nail it there jux for nailing it there at the door. Depending on culture, practices vary. Like in the case of chinese, our pregnant ladies here were told to avoid holding anything sharp as it might "disfigure" the babies in the womb. Indian geomency - do u think u could check with any of the Indian geomencers in Singapore? Can just call them up, no harm trying. Or what about asking the priests in hindu temples? U can just call up their temples without visiting. I'm sure they might know what those nails denote.

Is there a door to the staircase (I presume it's an emergency staircase)? Or is the staircase simply exposed? I have an emergency staircase that serves both my unit & the neighbour staying diagonally across us (units are very near each other, abit of overlapping although we're not exactly directly opposite each other's unit). And definitely within 9 feet of each other, so both our gates were customised to tilt away from each other's unit. But that emergency staircase comes with a wooden door where it's kept closed all the time. When I checked with my FS master 10 yrs back, he said there is no issue. The staircase is encased with walls & a door. But one of our older neighbours who shifted to another part of pasir ris (the 100+ series), the entire family had many problems thereafter & my FS master audited the flat for them - he recommended wrapping 3 ancient coins (those with a hole in the centre) & something else (not sure what) in a red paper, and hiding it behind the plague that reflected their unit number (above their main door). There is a staircase just beside their main door. Anyway, we heard from some old uncles & aunties staying here that the family migrated to Australia last year after the father passed away of old age. Since your FS master recognised the "white tiger formation", and has devised a cure to it, follow his instructions & see how it works. I noticed ur unit has a small foyer; my neighbour's place doesn't have a foyer so there is no option to mount any mirror facing the main door.
-
I read somewhere in the local chinese newspapers that it is a bad FS to have bedrooms that are same size or bigger than living room. Does anybody have any idea? I'm pretty concerned about it becox my master bedroom is very large, almost as big as my living room.
-
Hi, thanks for sharing. R there any staircases near ur unit? As in next to it, facing it? Those are the white tiger formation and is supposedly detrimental for some people's health, but only if the occupiers/ owners' bazi are such that they are sickly, born with medical conditions (i.e. poor health). If u trust ur FS master, then follow his instructions & implement his recommendations accordingly. Bepgof - would u like to comment on this discussion thread?

A huge beam is also running across my head when I lie in bed. It's even thicker than what's shown in your photos. We didn't install that beam but it came with the flat when HDB constructed it using the prefabrication technology (PFT). Well, we did highlight to our FS master 10 yrs back that we would be sleeping under the beam if he got us to position the bed there. The odd thing was he told us that no matter who sleeps there, it's not going to cause any health issues or problems on the long run. We've been sleeping under the beam for close to 10 yrs, with our heads "chopped off" but we're lucky there's no side effects thus far. Infact, we slept almost immediately when we retire for the night & slept very well too. And the "hu-lu" (gourd) thing has been frequently deployed by several FS masters when they encounter issues with sleeping positions in bedrooms - I was told that it's a temporary measure, not permanent cure.
