No need to go up all the way to the ceiling. What I meant by the gaps is "lobang" within the partition. Some of those wooden partition with the glass panels have a gap b/w the glass & the wooden parts. U have to see those partitions then u will know what I meant. The Qi will escape through those gaps & run out of the windows. Nowadays, I don't see furniture shops in the heartland areas selling these partitions any more.

Hi bk888, Do u think your bazi master is still running the business in Singapore but without a commercial office? Many of them has converted to SOHO (small office home office) with a business registration number. It's legal, but a gray area as to whether this is considered free-lancing or not. Great savings on overhead costs, taxes, etc. Very difficult for IRAS to fault them on the amount of revenue declared. When he interpreted ur bazi, does he obtain ur bazi in advance or he does it straight on the spot?

Hi, would like to add this other cheaper alternative, which I'm not sure if it'll work. It's to get a billy bookcase from IKEA to be placed at that location. It's solid although it comes with shelves, not sure about the impact of shelves facing the main door. I know for sure that u wouldn't want ur bed to be facing shelves which are exposed without doors hiding them...

This is a very common layout for relatively new flats in residential areas such as Sengkang & Punggol. Of course you shouldn't be putting ur sofa in the middle of that "road" becox it'll not be comfortable for anybody sitting in between these 2 exits. The person sitting there will likely be busy looking at both the main door & the windows, shaking his/her head from right to left/ left to right while seated there. Very tiring to be in a state of confusion: don't know whether want to look left or right?? It's akin to building your house in the middle of a real road - will be very stressful & bad for health; not sure when those people staying the middle of the road is going to be "hit". Thus far, the only recourse which I know of, as recommended by tan khoon yong (wayonnet) is to build a solid partition without any gaps / holes in between and have it placed in between the 2 exits (i.e. ur main door & the windows directly facing the main door). We've got relatives who had flats with such layouts & they got TKY to audit & that was what he recommended. In the past, there are shops that sell those wooden partitions with glass panels encased at the top half of the structure. The glass panel will normally have some decoration on it e.g. fishes swimming in lily pond, lotus, etc. U can still get them from some of the rosewood furniture shops. However, make sure that there is no gap in between the wooden partition & the glass panel. Otherwise, it won't work. The rationale here is to "completely block" the $$ from leaking out. P/S: I think it's best to get the recommendation installed becox 1 malay friend of ours suffered financial woes & eventually, had no choice but to get a rosewood partition (with glass panel) custom ordered to be placed at that location. According to him, it worked wonders.

My mother inlaw has a "concave" excess space just directly under a straight row of windows, which she would like to get cabinets installed to use that space for storage purposes. However, because of the scorching, hot sun from the western facing, the exterior of the HDB flat age really fast and has cracks. As such, rain water would seep through (not from the window) but from the cement top of the concave space. As such, we'll like to install waterproof cabinets to create that storage space for her. One contractor who specialises in aluminium doors, windows, grilles, etc, recommended installing aluminium framed sliding doors under the windows to create that storage space. However, we thought that it looks really awful, "obiang" becox those are concepts used to sliding doors under the stove (to hide things underneath the stove). Does any body have any idea or better recommendations on contractors who does nice, waterproof cabinets? (note: The option in getting HDB to cure the rain seepage is out so we're not reconsidering getting HDB to do anything to the weather cracks outside the flat.)

Good/ Bad Omen: Swallow Bird Flying Outside Lift Lobby
edenstrauss replied to edenstrauss's topic in Geomancy/Fengshui
wow u're mother is so lucky In fact my sister inlaw thought that it was a bad omen becox the neighbour staying at our level (there are only 2 units on our floor), sweared vulgarities at the swallow bird & us - for building up a lattice with plants, so always attracts birds. And that old couple shouted out loud that it's very "sway" i.e. unlucky. My friends also said the same thing as you - so long it's not a crow becox those birds are revengeful & bad omens. Another said owls are very bad also - when they rest nearby with hooting sounds, it meant that somebody in the family is going to die soon. so scary! -
Hi kalimantan, There's a saying by the old folks from the ancient times that unless the person doing the bazi reading for people is of higher spiritual learning, otherwise, they will bring about very bad karma for themselves. In some cases, it will affect that person's health & lifespan becox it is believed that they disclosed the will of heaven without the ability to counter the bad karma that comes along with the disclosure. If you want to know how to do the manual calculation, I can guide you or u get your master nong to do it becox all these geomencers will know how to read off from the chinese almanac - otherwise, they can close shop already. But to calculate for people, I've stopped doing that for a very long time. The last time I did it was in 2002 when I first learnt how to calculate bone weight using the almanac. Practising & finding out on what's most significant in other people's life was really interesting for that inquisitive streak in me. Then, my granny stopped me after she found out that I did it all for many of our relatives as she claimed that doing such stuff will shorten my lifespan since I'm not a professional cut out to read people's bazi or a buddha reincarnate. Scares me alright! So better be safe than sorry since my health is quite fragile since young. p/s: if u happen to read any chinese almanac, refrain from reading it when the sun is going down and thereafter also. Some "pang-tang" type of people will not touch it after 4pm. Don't ask me why becox I have no idea but I guessed it's becox of the talismans found inside the almanac - might "cheong" those who are really very very unlucky.

Hi folks, One of my relatives is getting married next year. It is likely that I'll be invited for a tea ceremony where the bride & groom would serve us tea and a wedding banquet. So how many times of angpow should I be giving? Some of my friends claimed that I should be giving 1 angpow for tea ceremony and another angpow for wedding banquet. And for the tea ceremony, should my hubby & myself be giving 1 angpow (representing both me & my spouse) or should we be giving out the angpow separately i.e. altogether 2 angpows? If we need to give angpows for both events, then what is the norm for the amount of $$ to be placed inside the angpows? Same amount or the tea ceremony should be a lesser amount? p/s: In some family cultures, I had a shock when I had been told that we should be giving out angpow for tea ceremony only, no need to give angpow a second time during wedding banquet.

If in doubt & those rotten food is a concern, u might want to consider dropping all these practices. It's more for those who are very familiar with such practices. There are people who adhere to rituals such as praying to the "4 corners" but still ended up with haunted flats becox those "offerings" are rejected by those "3rd parties" who r staying in that place. Really dependent on ur luck also when choosing the unit or house.

Hi bk888, I just made a discovery that LT's online tool gives inaccurate weight!! In fact, very different weights are given if manual calculation is done based on the chinese almanac. This might also suggest why there are discrepancies in results between reality (ur brother's high-flying status in career) & his "bone weight" - LT's on-line tool has a faulty equation so calculation is wrong. So disappointing because I'm quite a fan of LT & it's misleading for users of that on-line tool. No reliability. Maybe there is a programming glitch somewhere in her WOF.com system. The lunar dates of birth are correctly translated in that segment but the "bone weights" do not correspond to the respective bazi, i.e they are all wrong. I've just got the time to test it out now using my own & immediate family's bazi, but all the answers turned out very different. I'm confident on the above becox there are no discrepancies b/w my manual calculation of bone weights & reality, that's based on what I've calculated for myself, immediate family members (both mine & my hubby's siblings, their kids, grandchildren). I've done manual calculation for a total of 46 relatives. High accuracy & great consistency. Thus far, I still haven't come across differences between bone weight & what's going on in reality with relatives (whose having bone weight calculated)... Although what's written is very brief in the chinese almanac on bone weightage, it captures the essence of what's most significant in a person's life. My friends have also marvelled at its high accuracy after they did calculations for themselves & family. P/S: U can have people who have great wealth based on the same bone weights but one can be an ordinary citizen whereas another can be a country's president. So, I agree with you that it lacks the desired "depth" in its contents for 算命. Just to share: I have a distant cousin whose born with cerebal palsy & her weight is (I think 4.9 or somewhere around there, must double check with chinese almanac). Under that particular bone weight, it says that the person is surrounded by servants so all he/ she does throughout her life is to direct their servants in getting things done for them. True enough, being the only child to very wealthy parents who are both successful business persons, they already have many servants in their home even before the child was born. And of course, she has so many maids around her to do her bidding. When I was a kid, I used to admire her lifestyle in that all she needs to do is to tell the maids what she wants & they get it done for her. They have a huge swimming pool in their bungalow, cute, adorable looking puppies & chaffeured cars to ferry my cousin wherever she needs to go to. But as I got older, I no longer admire her material wealth but found her pitiful becox once her parents passed on, whose going to be the next reliable caregiver? And tonnes of assets - how is she going to manage it in her condition??

If YZX is an abbrieviation for Yuan Zhong Xiu, then it could be quite risky to use them. They used to offer services such as consecration of buddha statues (which requires their clients' nails, hair & bazi to be hidden/ placed under it or was it amalgamated into statues??), which is to be placed together with other clients' buddha statues and prayed to & worshipped in a place designated by YZX for such purposes. And since they have their clients' personal effects, then, it'll probabbly infer that those customers are bound to YZX for life. Will never know what happens if customers started saying No. Their promotional brochures placed at the entrance of their retail shops would highlight such a service. Depending on what type of buddha is required, pricing varies. Some cost $6,888. Their staff claimed that it's for those clients who are having obstacles in life or have bad luck cycles. I.e. really so "sway" (Unlucky in Hokkien) until cannot be "sway" anymore. I know that the consecration of buddha's statues is commonly practiced to reduce bad karma, improve health, etc but to incorporate the nails & hair & bazi of a person consecrating the statues is somewhat... erhmmm, not sure... but such practices gives me a hair-raising experience. Blood chilling. Black magic??

There are far too many considerations to make where FS is concerned. Additionally, there's a saying that goes "one man's meat is another's poison". As such, what works for one might not for another. It is also not advisable to use a trial & error method through applying methods based on FS books. There's a danger becox what's written doesn't apply to everybody as all have different bazi. If FS is of great concern to yourself & family members, then it's advisable to engage a professional to audit ur premises.

I have a few waterfall features in my home. One of which is next to the main door, such that it's on my right hand side when I enter my flat. This one has a few small fishes in it. The other two is found inside my dining room (west) & living room (southwest). All 3 are recommended by my FS masters.

Good/ Bad Omen: Swallow Bird Flying Outside Lift Lobby
edenstrauss replied to edenstrauss's topic in Geomancy/Fengshui
Hi muffin, thanks for words of comfort & encouragement - maybe I'm too superstitious. Hope that everything is indeed fine. -
My sister inlaw mentioned to me during our trunk calls that last night, 1 blue swallow bird was flying in circles at the lift lobby at my flat's floor level. She refused to open the wooden door whereas the neighbour staying in the opposite unit came out and tried to chase the swallow bird away. The poor bird flew in circles, attached itself to the top of the metal frame for one of the lifts. And finally, when my sister inlaw went towards the lift, the swallow bird flew off, passing by both units. Does anybody know if there's any omens associated with such an incident involving swallow birds? I'm kind of worried because swallow birds are associated with an impending death of a family member in some cultures. Before my grandfather died this year, there was 1 swallow bird who came & slept with its body perched at my dad's bougainvilla plant every single night for 2 weeks. After my grandfather passed away in the wee hours of the morning, my dad noticed that the swallow bird disappeared for good. Any ideas?

When a person sees white flashes of light, it's recommended that he/she visit an experienced eye specialist to get their eyes examined. These could be preliminary signs of changes in vision e.g. glaucoma - a type of medical condition where the visual field of the patient gets shrunken, starting from the sides of the vision, in seriuos cases, they see white flashes of light or white flash. When left untreated, it might ultimately lead to permanent blindness. No kidding.

The article shows photographs but with blurring effects to protect identity. Not sure if it's because the owner is uncomfortable or it's anything to do with the court orders on non-disclosure until the verdict is final?? Many articles in the chinese newspapers always have people who are photographed but with face blanked out. And if the owners who were suing that FS master disclosed their faces, then their identity is made known & all the neighbours would know & how are they expected to sell their flat later on? Sometimes with neighbours, it's best to keep mum about what goes in within the family... Not sure how people would view them after their problems are shared in the public - some who are "pang-tang" would even treat them like diseases... It's very sad, there are people like that...

Hi bepgof, Yes it's true that TKY from wayonnet is very very senior, supposed to be top-notch & both LT & him works well together because they collaborate to benefit their businesses, both ways. LT has very strong srtategic business connections at the global level. And if TKY tie in with her, he will be able to bring his global business to the next level which he has already achieved. I met LT a few times when I was still a drab-looking & childish teenager. She has a very strong, magnetic personality when I met her in person - not to be trifled with type of person & no ordinary woman. There is something very magnetic about her where she has the ability draw people to her & it's admirable becox not everyone has this sort of personality. I liked her becox she's bold in her own manner, outspoken & is no walk-over, she knows what she wants & goes for it (my observation). Demanding sort but one who commands respect. No monkey business. Although TKY is super duper senior, but the things that he said about me, were contradicted by my taiwanese master even though I didn't tell that taiwanese that I went to TKY before. The things that my taiwanese master told me about my bazi were not all good, there were bad stuff too. But the things that TKY read on my bazi were wrong. He left out very vital aspects about the status of my health after 30s, no mention of it. My taiwanese master did a very thorough interpretation on that aspect... warned me, which I regretted not listening becox what he said came true. And he only mentioned to my parents later on, when he saw me in person, that I had bad temper. If he were that great, why didn't he say so during the bazi consultation and have to wait until he had seen me then start saying that my temper was bad. Anyway, let's put that TKY aside, don't waste time talking about him since he already have so many people talking about him every single day. Regarding what u wrote in ur earlier entry on 5 elements as quoted below: what does "不及之人面色忧滞, 面扁鼻低, 为人狠毒乖戾, 不讲信用,不通情理"mean? I think my command in chinese is F9 standard leh... becox I only understood abit here & there. The front portion is like a "blur" note to me... very very cheem. By the way, what does this word "化" mean? I always see this word in articles explaining the stars in ziwei astrology. U must be very "sian" after seeing my looooong story again
-
Hi bepgof, Thanks for enlightening us... I appeared to be so ignorant! In fact, I didn't realise that the purple star astrology came from the 5 elements. My master still uses the 5 elements for reference purposes or for his own intepretation - I saw all these elements matched to my bazi written on the ziwei chart. Wow, u're a sage or guru & very helpful to spell it out for us to read - thanks alot but still reading... don't understand many words, abit "cheem"...

A couple of years ago or so (I think 2007), I recalled reading a chinese newspaper off the copy of a bus passenger seated in front of me. The news is local i.e. happened in Singapore. Apparently, the FS master audited the flat of an owner with a very sickly son. The master told them that the flat is no good & is causing the son to have ill health and told them to shift out of the premises. The owner took his recommendations, and scouted around for another flat that was supposedly ideal based on the FS master's instructions. On the second day of shifting into the new premises, the son's condition took a turn for the worse and died. The owner took legal action against this FS master & reported the matter to the press. He sued the FS master for damages & unprofessionalism, telling lies, & cheating in making him buy many FS items. However, the FS master was not identified by the press. But it was mentioned by the owner that this FS master has an office & retails shops in commercial buildings i.e. a registered business. Not SOHO (small office home office). Does anybody have any idea who this FS master is?
-
I think it all depends on the skill of the master whose reading ur bazi. U can have the best techniques out there in the industry but if that master has poor interpretation skills (of the techniques that he's learnt & is using), then, it'll be lousy to get such masters to read bazi. Be it ziwei or not. I think bk888 is refering to using the 5 elements technique to read off bazi, which my parents got mine read by TKY from wayonnet when I was still in school. Nothing impresses me about what he said, in fact, he got it all wrong. And over in Singapore, he is supposed to be one of the best in his area of work. However, I was amazed by the high accuracy of the purple star astrology (what u referred to as ziwei dou-shu) when I consulted my taiwanese geomency master. Hence, for me, I go only for purple star astrology interpreted by this master, and nobody else becox I get nonsense from other masters who uses the same purple star astrological method. It was a far cry & a shame to whoever that created purple star astrology. So unless you've consulted masters who are top-notch in their own techniques, then, I believe it is then that you could start doing an objective comparison of both methods. Both masters could have studied under the same school of thoughts for geomency & have the same coach/ teacher, in which they were imparted the same knowledge & techniques but both masters who graduated would turn out differently in their bazi interpretation. Although the techniques could vary with their own inherent strengths & weaknesses, the interpreter is very important. I used to know of this property agent guy who goes to this other astrologer (a plump chinese lady) who interprets astrology based on tarot cards. If I have not mistaken, $90 for the first 20 minutes & thereafter $50 per 15-minute block. He claimed that the accuracy of this astrologer is higher than what other masters told him. She managed to zoom in on the timing & date of a car crash he had. And this astrologer even had clients flying in from Japan to consult her in Singapore. Thereafter, this agent told us that he will only believe in tarot cards & nothing else.
