  1. ok no prob but still haven't done anything yet ... My hubby wants to play the hero in installing on his own... duno whether reliable or not... jux hope those hanging cabinets don't come crashing down.
  2. Hi gimz63251073, Thanks for sharing & advising. We're not making any alteration works e.g. relocation of power points or gas point. At least when there are any water leakages, it could be detected straight away if it's not covered by cabinets. But of course, the kitchen wouldn't look stylish & nice. We'll retain the cemented kitchen stove tiled by HDB 15 years ago as that's the most durable. Would just be installing the cabinets on our own wherever it fits. But like what u said, it's not cheap...
  3. The price will vary depending on what material is used. tempered/ non-tempered glass/ PVC panels. Aluminiun frame can come in different colours or original, etc. All these will have different pricings. I wouldn't recommend you the swing-slide door (PD door) because it looks & feels very fragile. If you have to keep using ur toilet doors, not advisable. Unless no choice.
  4. The kids these days are so pampered & lucky. Yes names are extremely important becox it'll take shape in one's life before they know it... If u r interested, u could drop by this website for a free analysis of names, bazi, etc. http://www.gemei.com/ Enjoy!
  5. Hi catwoman, not sure about the recent incident even tho' it's reported on yahoo! news. But there are many of such happenings in Pasir Ris since day 1 of its existence... Quite a number of Incredible Tales by TCS is adapted from these happenings. Aiya, better don't talk about it... so scary & carries alot of negative energy...
  6. Hi folks, I have decided to take the liberty to share abit more about the Water-Moon Guan Yin, which is known as "水月观音" in Chinese (even though this topic is not related to FS / Geomency). This is done in view of the overwhelming interest of RT members who had emailed me pertaining to the Water-Moon Guan Yin with her vase pointed downwards, as if pouring out the dew water consistently from her vase. Based on an extract from a pictorial book "Namo Guan Shi Yin Pu Sa" as illustrated by Xu Mao Song, the description & meaning for Water-Moon Guan Yin (水月观音) is quoted as below: "Water-Moon Guan Yin (水月观音) is also one of the transformation of Guan Shi Yin Pu Sa who contemplates the water whole heartedly. According to the drawing from 'The collections of pictures & images of Buddhas', Guan Shi Yin Pu Sa is standing on the lotus petal which floats on the surface of water. She contemplates the moon in the water. According to the 'Copies of Buddhas Image', she is sitting on a rock in the water and appears to be in deep thinking. But if we were to explain the meaning of her name, it carries the meaning like the saying 'In a thousand rivers, there appears a thousand moons.' It means that if the mind of living beings is pure, then Guan Shi Yin Pu Sa would appear in the heart, just like the reflection of the moon on the water surface." I would also like to take this opportunity to share my own personal experience of how I came to worship Water-Moon Guan Yin (水月观音) in my home. When I first got married, I fell in love with the Water-Moon Guan Yin (水月观音) statue found in a store near the waterloo street GY temple and bought it even though my hubby didn't really find the statue agreeable. But it didn't occur to me that the vase pointing downwards would mean anything bad. All my hubby's relatives complained about our choice of GY statue when they came in for housewarming of our flat. Many friends even exclaimed that I was crazy to choose such a statue to be enshrined & workshipped at home. They claimed that the elderly folks said that it will mean that my marriage would be a very rocky one, wrecked with quarrels, fights, heartbreaks, dysfunctional & a total failure. And aligning thoughts with superstitions, there is a saying that a downward vase would mean that the owners are giving away everything in their lives: money, health, opportunities, etc. Yes, it is indeed a rocky ride for me & my spouse over the years but what we have gone through had only served to strengthened our marriage & our faith in Buddhism as a philosophy. It is indeed a special affinity I have had with the Water-Moon Guan Yin (水月观音). I observed that Water-Moon Guan Yin (水月观音) possesed a very potent source of strength in "exorcising" one's mind. It is only when the person could clear out the fogginess or cloudy minds, that they could ultimately have a pure mind to attain true happiness in life & inner peace within oneself. And make prudent (i.e. wise) decisions in life too. I'm both thankful & grateful to the Water-Moon Guan Yin (水月观音) for helping me to understand many things in life, assisted me in changing my temper for the better (although I still do get angry once in awhile) over the years. And with a clearer mind, not clouded by negative emotions e.g. anger, jealousy, prolonged unhappiness that ultimately led to depression, etc; I saw many things from a different perspective & am alot more peaceful, happier in person. And I started noticing things I don't in the past, like how beautiful & green the scenary is from the balcony of my home She has also helped me in developing great compassion & kindness, which I had been sadly lacking of since young. She had also, in the course of great difficulties, made me understand the difference in b/w a religion and philosophy in Buddhism. The word 'Dharma' was introduced shortly upon achieving mind clarity & how the right motivation behind every good deed done is of paramount importance. That was so amazing for me I was pleasantly surprised that many people noticed that my facial features had also altered over the years to a softer, feminine, radiant & happier face (without any "sha-qi"). And, I had been shown good graces by others when moving around. And I had been offered huge bowls of food whenever I place orders at restaurants or coffee shops - just hope that it had nothing to do with my chubby figure! Anyways, my Water-Moon Guan Yin (水月观音) statue (carved out from white marble stone) in my matrimonial home had been badly weathered down (10 yrs of worshipping) and is beyond repair or polishing. I sized up that it had probabbly absorbed alot of bad energy as a result of helping me to "purge" out (the bad energy). We are ready to move on to changing her 金身 to work towards attaining enlightenment at the next level. Still looking around for the right 金身, haven't found "it" yet. P/S: "pai-seh" to post this religious experience on RT forum in view of a huge flood of emails related to Water-Moon Guan Yin (水月观音) which was first mentioned by myself under discussion thread on RT member, cjloh's "KwanYin statue". I apologise if any remarks/ comments written in this topic is viewed as offensive and seek all reader's kind understanding that this topic is not intended for challenging any differences in views & opinions pertaining to what's discussed. For purposes of sharing out of goodwill.
  7. Hi Fourseason, U r most welcome. If you've decided to sell away the flat, jux go ahead. Otherwise (if minimal occupation period for the flat is not fulfilled), see if u could rent it out until U get ur new flat. At least u can collect abit of rent to defray ur expenditures. Many of the Pasir Ris residents practice that when the owners had issues with their flats. Best wishes to you & ur family!
  8. Talking about FSMs, it's quite an irony that there are more & more people seeking them out to obtain advice on which units to buy for a home. And this applies to naming newborn babies too! I thought that we should all be choosing our own homes & naming our own babies ...
  9. Hi Fourseason, Thanks for making the effort into sharing this on the RT forum with all of us. It shows that U're a very real & sincere person & brave enough to muster up courage to make ur ordeal public as there are many out there who fear of a loss of face, which is so typical among Asians in general. After the disposal of that piece of wood, did things improve for yourself in the flat? About what Master Chang has said, you will need to judge for yourself as to whether you believe in what he has said about your flat having a tendency to attract those spooky stuff. The decision will ultimately still fall back on yourself as to whether to go ahead or not to audit, sell the flat, etc. If it isn't karma related, then it might take a smaller effort to solve by shifting to another flat. However, if it is related to one's karma, my belief is that shifting house isn't going to solve your problems. Karmaic relations are extremely complicated and not easily explanable. Anyway, doing volunteer work (charity without spending $$) is definitely a good move becox these are kind deeds, which would manifest itself in a very positive, great outcome if it's done with the right motivation: out of compassion & kindness. In Buddhism, they would always encourage people with bad karma to cultivate compassion & kindness by doing more charitable deeds to lighten their karma - not easy. Even for those who doesn't experience interferences of bad karma, there is definitely no harm in accumulating more merits in one's life. Would you consider seeking out the assistance of the lamas at Sakya Tenpheling at Pasir Ris in taking a look at your flat? They should be able to tell you during their 1st visit, as to whether your flat is haunted or not. Whether it is because of karma, etc... They do not do fengshui audits becox that's not their speciality. The Rinpoches & the Khenpo (respectable terms for senior lamas who had attained a certain level of enlightenment) mentioned that if they enter the premises and had a horrible, terrible feeling, then, the place is "unclean". In my opinion, there is no harm in getting them to bless your home. Infact, it's good to get the blessings of the buddhas. The red packets offered are given based on what one could afford. The temple's management office had given their assurances to those who seek help, including devotees that the amount given in the angpow is based on an individual's budget. Whatever decision that u've made, I sincerely hope that God will bless & look after u & ur family & show you the right way, and help you attain a peaceful mind.
  10. wah, looks like this Neo guy (from KX Int'l) is creating waves in bedok. He has an office at bedok reservoir. Did he mention about blk 53 or is it 54 being a scholar's block? My friend has 2 scholar sons staying there, of whom 1 of them is an LKY scholar...
  11. R u thinking of engaging him for FS audit of your home? If yes, then please think twice before signing up. I would never engage him for any geomency services.
  12. I observed that there seemed to be many hauntings in Bukit Batok flats. One of my sister inlaw's friends & a few relatives shifted there 6 months back and I heard from her that their flats were "not clean". Her friend was "chased" the entire night & eventually woke up under her own bed! That was really scary!
  13. Has anybody here on RT had any feedbacks about their kitchen cabinets? I was told that delivery fees apply for kitchen cabinets... And they charge fees for installation of kitchen cabinets too. cannot believe it Becox I didn't thin that I could build up my own cabinet & get it installed... oh gosh.
  14. continued: Example 2: Use a few compasses to assess direction of facing for another bedroom, then, painted the so-called ideal colour based on what the book recommended. DIY Outcome: I experienced a blood-chilling sensation every night (felt worse esp during midnite or past midnite) when I looked into the bedroom from the ailse leading to master bedroom. Prior to the painting, there were no such sensations. The previous owner's colour for that room's wall was lily white. We even slept in that room for a period of time before our king sized bed arrived but no such issues before that. We also didn't suspect that it had anything to do with the colour. Rectification: We didn't tell the FSM anything. He stepped into the room & exclaimed that we had painted the wrong colour. The plot of land facing the bedroom's window is extremely YIN and the pinkish purple which we painted had triggered off unwanted invitations to whoever's "staying" opposite. So they get all their friends to drop by to our room during the late hours to have a "party" in there. He got us to paint it lily white again & to hang a bagua outside the window at the concrete slab. We chose a brass bagua to prevent corrosion eventually as we've got strong afternoon sun. Verdict: Cured. But I think we triggered off the "invitation" which is irreversible based on my instincts. During the HDB upgrading i.e. when they painted our flats, we brought in the bagua for 2 weeks. However, then forgot to hang it back. So that part went "bagua-less" for a month plus. One night, when I returned home & went into the room, I had that same terrible sensation that gave me the creeps. My hubby hung the bagua back without delay. Everything settled in nicely again. My little nieces & nephews who visited my place would take naps in that room. My brother inlaw's 3 year old twins also slept there for more than 1 year b4 they were brought to Australia - both dearies love the room & until today, when they visit us in Singapore, they would automatically run into the room to take their naps. (Note: such "accidents" wouldn't happen to everyone. It's about luck & affinity. And if readers believe, karma.) Example 3: I painted my living room purple out of ignorance. I didn't realise that I'm an earth person so I dug my own "grave" in painting my huge living room lilac colour (light purple) - it was really hahaha when I think about it now What I did was to check the FS DIY books on the colour definitions. Moreover, purple was my favorite colour during those days Rectification: My FSM, explained to me about some personal stuff related to my bazi (which I didn't believe would worsen at that time, as it was impossible based on my own thoughts but every that's said materialised eventually) & insisted that I paint my living room yellow! Main door orange. I wasn't happy at all with his recommendation becox those are colour schemes of childcare centres! But anyway, I followed through. Verdict: Yes, rebounded back from where I "fell" off. So now, I love yellow. Mustard yellow is one my favourite colours in my wardrobe Shorten my "story" with cuts here & there. If not, will flood the entire discussion thread liao
  15. Hey folks, I would also like to take this opportunity to share with u how my DIY experience with FS lead to quite disastrous results. Example 1: Bed placed against the wall, with a row of windows right infront. Read this off a FS book that says bed post must be placed against a solid wall. And bed must face nice scenary. DIY Outcome: I got very very ill even though it didn't affect my hubby. One day while at work, I thought that I was going to get stroke becox my right shoulder, arm & fingers couldn't move, with a numbing sensation. Rectification: When my FSM stepped into our bedroom, he told me that my bed position was wrong & the partner sleeping on the bed with a "lighter" bazi will suffer from nerve issue & needs to operate by drilling a hole under the armpits to tighten the nerve there. But the condition will relapse after sometime. He said that it happened to many of his clients here in Singapore. Told me to cancel my surgery appt if I hv one. If placed against the walls on either side of where my bed was originally placed, then both partners (regardless) of bazi, will suffer from the same medical condition. Verdict: Cured within 3 days. (note: I always thought that it's a taboo to sleep with legs facing the windows directly. But it's not true. Some of TKY's clients were told to sleep with that facing. And until now still ok, no issue. So I think it really depends on individuals)
  16. We renew our vows every year but instead of doing a makeover, we go for holidays like cruise & do abit of charity work within our means I will only let Judy Koh from In@ backstage (orchard hotel) touch my hair.
  17. R u going for ID? If u r going for ID, u will need to check with them if u hv sufficient space inside ur toilet for any sliding doors. Can be single panel, double panel (opening from opposite sides) or double/triple panels (opening on the same side).
  18. Part 2: And over in HK & Taiwan, their citizens are strong believers of FS since their forefather's generation. As such, it is definitely a big challenge to gain a strong foothold in their Geomency industry back in their own hometown. Based on my own observation & interpretation, those who flocked over to Singapore are probabbly good enough for us (becox the locals aren't as good in terms of standard). But if they were to be compared to the so-called "state" FS masters who take the lead in FS in their own countries, erhhh... those migrants in our country might be viewed as amateurish even though they have their strengths here in Singapore. Further to the above that's said by me, I sincerely hope that none of the readers, including yourself wouldn't take offence in my comments. This is a general observation by myself so there are chances that I may be wrong also p/s: The same applies for wedding photographers. I love the photoshoots done by the upmarket Taiwanese photographers (not the IMM style with a huge flower sitting on the bride's head!!) here in Singapore. They cost about $6k for just album shots, without providing gowns & makeup (which the couple got to get it from another boutique). But when I went down to Taipei, and visited their own upmarket wedding photographers, it is what the Singaporean hokkiens here would say"no horse run". Reason: The Taipei's version is so sophisticated with such great style, no basis for comparison. It's almost like comparing a peach to an orange And of course, it'll cost alot more, approx in the range of $15k-$20k. $100k package is also available. Same for hairstylists. Visited the hairstylists in Tokyo, Japan. They have a $ back guarantee on their receipts; their skills were that great; good enough to put in such a clause. But when I tried out one studio (owned by a Jap) here in Orchard, Singapore (cannot quote salon name becox no badmouthing on RT forum), his skills were far from being impressive. Regretted letting him touch my hair!
  19. Part 1: Yes I have the same sentiments as you too. Singapore is a relatively small country & is far from being entrenched in many industries. Hence, it is viewed as attractive to foreigners who will in turn, bring in their own skills, knowledge & culture here. The same applies for FSMs since the local standards are somewhat not on par. But we still need to exercise caution when giving our bazi to those foreign FSMs. Over in Taiwan, there are many wierd things done by FSMs of different practisioner level. Black magic is something that seems to be deepyly entrenched over there. I sized up that given such situations, all their FSMs would have to be skillful in dealing with all these unorthodox practices. Which I believe, was how FS becomes integrated with religious beliefs over there. And when these Taiwanese or HK FSMs migrate, they bring along their portfolio of skills too! So if u compare our local FSMs with them, the foreign ones came across as more skillful in view of their exposures back home. There was even a very notorious legal battle that lasted for years in view of FS issues b/w 2 neighbours (who used to be on good terms) in Taiwan. It all started with one neighbour hanging a bagua with a mini sword & a red scroll placed above the main door. The other neighbour & his family started experiencing accidents of different natures shortly; and one day noticed those stuff above the nearby unit's door. He felt wierd about it, found out that those accidents were a result of those objects. His FS master told him to try negotiating with his neighbour if he could modify the objects in bringing down the mini sword but it backfired. That victim's FSM then recommended that he place his home's rubbish bin at the entrance of his main door to counteract the "sha-qi", which worked wonders. That next door neighbr (with those objects above his door) wasn't happy becox the bad luck cycle was then diverted back to him & his family. It went on & on until both went to court to fight it out. p/s: My taiwanese FSM said that if any FS recommendation is made to benefit clients at the expense of others, then, it'll create bad karma for both that client & the FSM himself. Retribution will catch up with them i.e. O$P$ theory
  20. correct lor... in fact it's good to be "gong gong" becox they will be happier folks
  21. I would like to have vanity drawers created under all my windows becox I have alot of excessive space under those windows. The storage space created would help me to streamline my belongings and neaten my home. However, whenever there is heavy rain, water would seep through from the crevices of the flat's exterior and make its way into one of these potential places through the walls that I intend to set up the vanity drawers. Most of the contractors whom I spoke to, told me to get HDB to mend those crevices before installing any wooden cabinets there. However, this isn't possible because that part of the flat is heavily weathered under the afternoon sun. Mend it today and nobody knows when it'll start cracking up again. As such, one of my regular contractors recommended that I install mini sliding doors made of aluminium with PVC panels. They would probabbly last for a lifetime because those are the most durable - definitely waterproof because they are of the same materials as those of sliding toilet doors. However, it reminded me of those vanity doors installed under ceramic stoves in the kitchen. I reckoned that it's going to look... awful And I am thinking about getting the contractor to source for phenolic resin panels but I am not sure if those are waterproof. Or whether they'll last? Does anyone here have an idea? Or are there alternatives to what the contractor recommended? Thanks in advance!
  22. Oh I see... But any idea how those spidery stuff is related to wee wee? Jux curious...
  23. I agree with bepgof FS' YIN-YANG methodology is aligned to that of TCM's (traditional complementary medicine), which in TCM's case, got nothing to do with religion. So FS has nothing to do with religious beliefs & has been applied by many people of other races & religious beliefs. Nothing to do with superstitions. Aside to gimz63251073, talking about mind power... u need not concern yourself too much with the aura thing. No need to play with fire in looking at all these abstract stuff. Based on common sense: Nobody will want to deal with a person who has "sha-qi" or radiates negativity, which upon close observation skills, could be seen, felt by all ordinary humans. Some detect within minutes or seconds, others might make that detection only after sometime. And as the rule of thumb in promoting positivity in oneself says, avoid the negative to stay positive. To put it simply in bite-size explanation: If your motivation in life is guided by kindness & wisdom (being kind, compassionate is not enough, u need to be intelligent (IQ, EQ) enough to avoid, divert problems/ disasters from urself), you will have the power to control your mind (i.e. adjust ur own mindsets to adapt to environment instead of expecting the environment to change to suit oneself) & have a positive mind culture - which is the essence for happiness & peace within oneself. And when a person achieves a good mind culture, he/she will be free from external influences & mental disturbances (e.g. prolonged unhappiness & pent-up frustration, anger, jealousy which eventually lead on to depression, hallucinations, etc). So for such people radiating positivity, FS isn't much of a concern anymore... Becox no impact on their mentalities. (there is one You-Tube video clip on a mentally unsound lady shouting & screaming in the MRT train.) I've come across those who goes against the FS principles within their houses, but being extremely kind with very high IQ, EQ, they are still surrounded by very good outcomes in life. So FS is not everything & one should not be excessively obsessed by it. So long as u feel comfortable with ur own home layouts, no need to care so much. But for me, shoe racks piled right above my head makes me feel uncomfortable. So jux bring it down lor. It's as easy as that.
