  1. Those who "kena" black magic before will believe in its existence. But I thought that Harry Potter is just a fantasy movie? Flying on broomsticks, phoenix being reborn unlimited times, etc..
  2. kalimantan, I think u better prioritise all your questions for master nong. I can see a huge pile of question marks waiting to crash down on him already leh If he tells u that he need to go off before u finish asking him all ur questions, then oops, u might miss out the most important. So u better prioritise the more important & critical ones just in case this happens.
  3. beogof, So long as their food is yummy & has a long long Q & business is good, then nobody would be bothered with the fire & water opposing each other. By the way, I noticed that becox the environment inside the food stalls r really heated up with little ventilation, there r bound to be quarrels between hawkers & whoever whose helping out inside the stall. The common scene is a male hawker quarreling with his wife whose assisting him. So, even if the stove & sink aren't facing each other, they'll still quarrel in view of irritation. Running a food business is a very tough job. Not easy.
  4. bepgof saw ur response to my thread on timber flooring. But u haven't suggested alternatives to timber flooring yet. Can help? The ceramic tiles around the place where they knock the wall will be cracked so must replace. That's why the timber flooring, parquet, laminates come into picture.
  5. P floor means parquet right? My aunt's parquet aged really fast within years... After 15 years, now... like rotten flooring. Looks really horrid! so what's ur suggestion for my flooring problems after my ceramic tiles cracked? do u know anything abt homogenous tiles? was ur 2006 reno done by ID Baroque?
  6. Better close case on religious topics. U r right. Far too sensitive to talk about when everybody does not share common grounds of understanding. So CASE CLOSED.
  7. But both categories r christians. That was what I had been told. Those friends, classmates I'm talking abt in my previous comment r mostly christians. My cousin inlaw is a christian, not catholic.
  8. Thanks for sharing ur thoughts & approach on your religion. But I thought that one must have faith in his/her religion and take their religious beliefs seriously? And not be faithless in abandoning their trust in their own gods and start blaming them when things don't turn out their way?? I've had christian friends, classmates who bought haunted flats, but from what I heard, most of them still stayed on in their faith even though the countless number of prayer sessions at their homes backfired. And infact, things got worse becox it was likely that the spiritual beings felt that they were being challenged when they felt that they (those spirits) were then the rightful owners for the flats. One of my cousin inlaw who is a staunch christian who attends church regularly, used to stay in a flat that had such issues. However, after he successfully got a monk to bless & cleanse the flat, he didn't switch lanes as he still goes to church. So it really depends on how one practiced their faith.
  9. Hi Pardon me for my ignorance but I thought that homogeneous tiles are scratch free??
  10. eh paiseh for telling long story of hauntings without applying for license No I don't want to be a ghost story writer. Maybe write about how to save & make more $$ is better
  11. Hi guys, thanks for all the valuable inputs & suggestions. morgan - if the solid wood flooring is being scratched, then, can it be removed? As in touch ups to be done? My furnitures for that room intended for such flooring is extremely heavy. The Super King sized bed is extremely heavy. It definitely has to be dismantled, and parts have to carried in to the room & reassembled. Which in other means that there will be scratches on the flooring even before we clean up & use the bedroom for sleeping. Just the bed post alone requires 4 men to carry it into the bedroom. Made of solid Indonesian teakwood. Quite a killer for those who have to relocate their homes. bepgof - I'll be reinstating my MBR and common room so that it's in the original layout as how HDB constructed it, so the tiles will crack where they knock out to create another door (for the common room). I do not want to have those cracked tiles replaced with similar looking tiles becox they will look terrible. Hence, I'm exploring alternatives like laminates or timber flooring - I'm new to this area. But thanks for highlighting on the disadvantages. It did occur to me where the rotting is concerned. And since natural wood is a production of mother nature, it does age e.g. contract, expand, cracks or whatever that comes along the way. Which is why I'm really concerned & had been asking around on RT. So do u have any better suggestions? My sister used laminate flooring & she told me to avoid. Hers is just 5 years old & most of the time, there's nobody at home. And her laminate tiles can still deteoriate!
  12. Hi gadiorla, I didn't know that u pass by that place that often. Yes then U're better off not knowing anything. I wrote in this spooky incidents for that place because this discussion thread discussed about hauntings. About the ancestral tablet, what was told by some priests is that the tablet is like a license to stay & accept offerings made to them. So when their descendents bring the ancestral tablet along with them, they will go along because the ancestors own the tablet. aside to noobsea, thanks for ur explanation.
  13. Hi noobsea, u mentioned thailand god but r u referring to the thailand version of buddhas or thailand's local deity? Both comes under different categories/ realms of existence. And those kunmantong - it was published in the chinese newspaper years ago. There were people who claimed that some are good and some were evil. Please share if u have any knowledge about it.
  14. Tampines Road (Part 2) Out of curiousity, I asked around and many taxi drivers (those who are already very seasoned in their careers) confirmed that the rumours were true. One uncle who drives a cab also said that he and his cab buddies would turn down bookings coming from there. And some of our neighbours who are devotees of the temples there did attest to the difficulties of booking cabs from there. There was also a saying that before that area was urbanised, it used to be a thick forest, remoted area & nearby a pig farm. Then it's either during the 1950s-1960s that a very bad rotting stench was oozing out of those thick foilage when somebody walked past. They did a search and found the corpse of a very young girl dressed in red who was slaughtered to death and discarded there. The elderly folks who recalled the incident very clearly said that it was published in newspapers but there was no outcome as to what happened eventually. So the case was left as it is. Lot's of speculation. Some claimed that it was a human sacrifice for some ritual; or the girl was purposely dressed in red by her relatives after her tragic death; the purpose was for her to haunt whoever who slaughtered her. Rumour has it that the government had designated this place for religious buildings/ places of worship based on Fengshui and that there is a special deity that was placed & worshipped that to "subdue" the hauntings. Wah that was blood-chilling...
  15. Tampines Road... (Part 1) I am not sure if it's known as new or old tampines road. But this road is running along a stretch of temples. There was a time when I boarded a taxi at Tampines street 81 during the lunar 7th month and wanted to go to hougang. The taxi driver asked me whether I was comfortable cutting across that tampines road with a stretch of temples. He said that if I was "pangtang" then he would take a longer route, which he also prefers, by using the other tampines road running along the expressway. At that point in time, I was puzzled by his remarks. He explained to me that many elderly or longer-service cab drivers would avoid that route in view of the explanable hauntings and sights many witnessed along the road. He also told me there were unexplanable road accidents where drivers would crash into the huge tree or along that route to avoid a lady in red! However, that lady in red was nowhere in sight after the crash. Anyway, I told him not to cut through those temples and take the longer route.
  16. Hi gadiorla, I agree with you that those category of spiritual beings are very difficult to negotiate with or exorcise. They have difficulties letting go (of their grievances) so they ended up getting earth bound. The elderly would always discuss and say that the best option is to sell to those temple mediums where they conduct their rituals in the flat. They seem to believe that those mediums & their deities would be able to control them or even liberate them. Those hauntings that r tagged to individuals, not houses - those r also very tough to negotiate with. It is the same, all becox those spiritual beings could not let go of their grievances. Those humans need to work out their karma with these spiritual beings on their own. Even god cannot help them according to the monks. Coming up Next... Tampines Road
  17. I haven't been to one yet... must be really interesting but seminars on FS with big theories make me... And since I'm not one of them, will feel so out of place; worse still later got "hunted" down when they sell me their geomency services Like what I said, must be those "少林武术大会" type of event where all the gurus from the industry meet to exchange ideas & concepts. But if I have the chance one day, I might just go for fun. Provided that the admission is free
  18. I think all that's required is to bring a person with a Yin magnetic field to the place to have a "feel" of the environment, possibly at night. Many people have YIN magnetic field but that doesn't mean that they have a bad luck cycle. Some professionals or successful people also have the YIN magnetic field. And they have to be people with wisdom to be able to have such a sense & know how to adjust their emotions when dealing with such situations- that's based on some guru's explanation. Some people claimed that if the flat is "dirty", some would have giddy spells and recover immediately after they step out of the place. Others will feel very uncomfortable & fall sick without seeing anything. There is one lower floor unit at blk 3 haig road which we went to as kids many years ago. We didn't know about the history of the flat but the entire family who went, together with other potential buyers ditched the flat within minutes of entering it. All of us kids got sick, with terrible migraine, vomitted & got admitted to SGH in the wee hours of the morning. And adults discussed about spookiness & use pomegranate leaves for bathing. Then when my granny compared notes with another elderly buyer when they bumped into each other at haig road, both agreed that there was this "black hole" in the bedroom that seemed to be so eerie & wanting to suck us all into it - both grannies claimed that they felt the presence of not sure what it was at the stairway! Yuks that was scary... The butchers in the wet market told my granny that an Indian security watchman killed his wife (after he found out about her affair while he was away on night duty), then, hung himself in the flat. So two deceased in the flat. That flat was ultimately bought over by a medium.
  19. I guess it's for all those people who are interested in fengshui, and all other geomencers, probabbly from Singapore & all over the world. It's a tea session where all the competitors meet up with one another during this best opportunity to exchange pleasantries, ideas & explore partnerships. U know what? It reminds me of those shaolin or wushu events hosted by the chief in the pugilistic world of martial arts in kungfu novels. All the contenders meet up to spar and fight with one another to compare & polish up their skills. Then those who got kicked out of the stage will practice hard and come back again the following year for another fight.
  20. pardon me for my ignorance. I didn't realise that's what u're referring to. But I've no idea on where u could purchase that from becox I thought that it should come together with your kitchen sink. U might want to try out those retail shops that sells all these kitchen accessories. They used to have one at IMM many years ago but I don't think they have that shop there anymore.
  21. Audit for fengshui of a house is not a cure-it-all or answer to all problems. I'm not sure if all hauntings in a house could be cured by just a fengshui audit. Fengshui is there to ensure that there is a good balance of the yin & yang energy, 5 elements to harmonise ur surroundings so that the occupants in the house will be comfortable. (My explanation is very layman becox I'm not a geomencer myself even tho' I believe in fengshui) It's your choice but it may not be necessary. One of my brother inlaw whose very successful with his career doesn't believe in fengshui. He even told me that it's a waste of $$ whereas the rest of his siblings swear by it. So it really depends on you.
  22. Hi noobsea, not all resale flats r haunted. Any place on this earth could be haunted, even toilets, offices, commercial buildings etc. At least for resale flat, U could still have a good "feel" when u view it before deciding whether to buy or not. But for brand new flats from HDB, no such opportunities to do so. Many brand new flats also come with "unwanted occupants" if u know what & who I'm referring to. One of my sister inlaw bought one brand new flat many years ago from HDB. The current location is just next to circle line in Serangoon. The flat was dark because there was little sunlight coming through their rooms, except her toilet which is the brightest place. But the surroundings of her flat was very windy. After they shifted in, the whole family realised that the MBR was haunted by the spirit of an old lady who stays inside that room & wouldn't bother the other parts of the flat. She was a great disturbance to my inlaws with lot's of "tricks". e.g. pulling at their feet & toes when they were sleeping on the bed in the MBR. She was also sighted when they looked into the mirror while bathing or brushing their teeth! As for the reason as to why she only stays in her unit, not others? nobody knows. And when she bought the flat, it was newly built by HDB.
  23. I think it all depends as to whether the bed post must be placed against a solid wall or not. I had the same mentality when I first shifted into my matrimonial home but started having health problems after sleeping in that position for close to about 6 months. I had to get an operation to tighten my nerves under the armpit of my right arm from a neuro-surgeon. The surgery at SGH was scheduled 2 weeks away fr my flat audit. Then my taiwanese FS master who audited the flat, made major changes to the positioning of my furnitures, including the bed in the room. My bed post is leaning against an entire stretch of windows since then, till now. With sun-out curtains which we will let down when we retire for the night or when we take naps. And the numbing condition for my right arm was cured within 3 days of changing bed position. I've even have friends who had their bed skewed at a wierd angle without any backing behind their bed post! And they did well by those odd positions.
  24. Hi folks, Can anybody enlighten me if there is a difference between parquet flooring and timber flooring? If there is a difference, which is better? And r they prone to scratches? Or damages? Or wearing off? Do they normally get installed with warranty?
