  1. Maybe u can be the first to develop a tool for assessing compatibility b/w English names & bazi? Then, we'll be your pioneer batch of clients! hehehehe
  2. Yes u r right I'll be so irritated when I come back to a home clattered with things. And moreover, HDB flats are getting smaller & smaller... so it's best to keep it neat & free of clutter.
  3. The place looked really run down even though it's well-kept by the previous owners. Not occupied becox no personal effects. Scary looking... If you purchase this flat, you'll have to do a major overhaul to tear down everything and give it a face lift. Thank goodness you didn't buy this flat!
  4. IDs who are eager to work for you are better than those who don't show any interest or have a take it or leave it type of attitude. But I can appreciate your concerns becox what happens if the ID changes his attitude for the worse after you signed on with him.
  5. You should be able to get this customised at any signage shops. Just bring down this photograph to show it to them.
  6. Yes, this is something that I wondered about on & off too! We used to have neighbours who had twin girls. Both had Simian Line on their palms. One was very successful in life whereas the other was the exact opposite.
  7. I thought that nyatoh doors should cost about $260-280.
  8. I think you should be able to if you do not go for high-end products and also, instead of going through a main contractor, you go for ala carte services. Meaning that you get your own carpenter, electrician, installers for acrylic screens, etc. Likely to be cheaper than going through a main contractor because he will mark up the total cost as he works with subcontractors & would definitely need to make a living too.
  9. U'll need to pay for a relocation of the wiring & termination box.
  10. Please pardon me for my ignorance but I thought that algae will start growing because bathrooms / toilets are always wet? I used to stay at my granny's very first terrace house while I was still a kid. Her bathroom & toilets have no tiling. All cement. It was really terrible to look at as time goes & very difficult to maintain. Covered with algae and mould. Looks like some hut that was featured in haunted movies.
  11. Sorry, nope I had no idea becox I didn't do much indepth research on suppliers for these high-end brands as I'm going more for the cheaper to average priced ones.
  12. Hi mae29, I agree with bepgof's comments about the blockage & irritation becox I felt irritated & didn't want to enter my neighbour's flat. If I'm a potential buyer, I would stop at the door & turn down the flat straight away. Big events? Do u mean disasters? Tragedies?
  13. Hi mae29, I noticed that one neighbour staying below us (on a much lower floor) placed their rosewood "sofa" sets directly near the main door. When they opened their main door, you see all their chairs & coffee tables. Their main door, is painted a very very very dark shade of green, almost black. When I dropped by to pass the female owner some stuff, the door has a forboding look... like I was being sucked in by a black hole. And the flat which was the same in floor area as mine, looked so small. If a flat look cluttered at the entrance of the main door, will that obstruct their wealth? They are not well-off.
  14. Hi blackwhite.sg, why is the nytaoh door $198 only? Does this pricing include door knobs, installation & hinges? And how many percent "in-fill" is it? Thanks.
  15. Hi emobebe, Without any reference to fengshui, my opinion is that you either place the TV against the wall that is perpendicular to the door. i.e. the part that has a dimension "50000". But are there any windows running along the wall? Or beside the door (facing wall of bedroom 2). But what is the distance b/w that stretch of wall (next to the door) to the wall of bedroom 2?
  16. Recommendations on masters for Geomency services is generally risky. Because if things didn't work out, then "jia-luc" liao lor... It would come across like it's the fault of the person who recommended the master.
  17. Hey everybody, I'm so happy to have found this thread Didn't realise that it existed until now! The funny thing is that I thought that ICI is more popular with ID firms whereas Nippon is commonly used by home-users who does their own DIY painting. I've used Nippon's 3-in-1 medifresh about 8 years ago. And we started seeing patchiness on the walls only last year. It has definitely outlived its 5 years worth of lifespan! But has anybody used Nippon's paint recently? And is the quality still as good as before? Any idea?
  18. Pardon me for my ignorance I saw those colourful windmills turning vigorously in the strong wind so that I thought that it had something to do with Qi & $$.
  19. hahahaha, that person who cracked up the platform will have to get his buttocks sewn up!
  20. Hi bepgof, I thought that you do not believe in bazi at all? Becox it's an "agar-agar" theory to you?
  21. I had the idea that windmills are used to promote Qi circulation?
  22. Very subjective topic. No right or wrong answer when it comes to change of chinese names. If you check out those chinese websites on name interpretation, there are people with very very bad names but they are very successful in life. Then on the other hand, there are those with very good names but they run into trouble throughout their lives. To cite an example, I had been told by my classmate's granny since my varsity days that my chinese name is not suitable for my bazi. Old granny cited out the problems that the name my parents had given. At that point in time, changing of name given by parents seemed akin to a sin. I didn't dare to change it. Then, when I reached a certain age, not sure if it's destiny or the name, the underlying meaning of my original chinese name was materialised. After I changed my name (and had to work from inside out, meaning that have to recognise the need to change & correct faulty attitudes in life), things did improve. Especially my health. However, there are tools that indicated that my current (2nd) name is not ideal based on the "Wuxing" for my bazi. It's not perfect but I would prefer to work on myself rather than going for a 3rd change of name! In Buddhism, it doesn't encourage change of names becox this religion believes in karma. It believes that if a person is given a bad name by parents, it's this person's bad karma. Cannot blame on one's parents for a less than satisfactory name. Disclaimer: The last paragraph has religious content in it but is not intended to promote any disputes over religious differences/ beliefs. Hence, the kind understanding and level-headed rationalisation of readers are sought when interpreting its contents.
  23. very interesting! But would this be approved by HDB? They have a certain threshold for "weight & stress" guidelines. I was just wondering what happens when somebody really heavy weight comes up onto the platform & sat on it! Referring to the raised platform for living room, not bed room.
  24. This is an old problem becox it's likely that your contractor didn't waterproof your flooring properly before laying tiles. If you neighbour alert the HDB officer, he will pay you owners a visit & ask you to get your contractor to rectify the problems. However, those "injections" or fillers to stop their ceiling from leaking is very expensive. My granny had such nightmares more than 20 years ago when her new neighbours staying upstairs did major reno, including hacking & changing of tiles. Hers is a very old flat.
