U r most welcome! I polished the sink on & off using autosol to make the sink shine. However, if u have been consistently using the sink for washing & it still rust, then the quality of your sink is already substandard. Do u want to use 3M's spray for stainless steel, aluminium & chrome products? U can get it from home-fix stores. Autosol is a cheaper option. In my case, my sink is "embedded" into the ceramic kitchen console. And yes, there is alot of rust on the underside of the stainless steel sink which is already 18 years old. However, to have to clean it with autosol or other chemicals would definitely be highly challenging.

Hi imnapp, there's a first time for everybody. It's jux that it'll be good to substantiate our claims on the forum since there are many unidentified advertisers in forums. I would normally publish photographs with a write-up if it's feasible.

after rubbing autosol with a piece of rag on the rusty spots, use detergent to wash the sink which was what i did.

Ceiling Fans In Bedrooms - Good Or Bad Fs?
edenstrauss replied to Manic1004's topic in Geomancy/Fengshui
if the kid stood on top of the sofa or say, dining table & jump, then chances are he'll hit the ceiling fan since most of our HDB flats have relatively lower ceilings. and kids are kids. at their age, they are a huge bundle of energy. it's extremely tough to control them from jumping unless there's they've been disciplined by folks at home. -
Hi, thanks for sharing but do you have the name of his company? It's critical to deal with an installer who is licensed to do the job with a valid business listing. Otherwise, if anything goes wrong, clients would be left stranded & saddled with problems. And I think that it'll be a nightmare if the respective aircon manufacturer disclaim responsibilities if the aircons aren't installed by qualified installers.

Those who follow wholesale based on any geomencer's publications are walking on a path of self-destruction. They need to be able to size up what's necessary in one's life. Say, if a person is facing problems at work, with bosses becox of poor performance, e.g. coming from bad attitudes, no amount of fengshui ornaments are going to work for him/ her. U can buy Lillian Too's products & ignore her other lectures on the recommended practices in other aspects' of one's life, the outcome would jux turn on disastrous becox those buyers/ customers aren't adopting a holistic approach in her practice of fengshui. And what's worse, some buyers were not self-conscious enough to identify their existing state of mind & become even more dependent on the object, thinking that buying those few ornaments were akin to acquiring a wishing wand! For such customers, they are better off saving the $$ becox it's definitely not going to work. I've ever come across a female co-worker whose crazy about such fengshui ornaments but a poor performer. She was so insane about crystals to the extent that she bought alot of such stuff to be displayed at her workstation. Instead of brushing up her performance in adopting a more customer centric attitude towards internal customers (staff), she was unwilling to volunteer useful information when approached by them. And when these internal customers tried to probe & obtain more details from her, she got reticent & was eager to cut them off the line. By the time she had been asked to leave, any newbies in the company actually thought that her work station of fengshui ornaments were on sale as there were so many figurines & such stuff all over her work station. We have also come across another unit near another of our good neighbour's flat, which had plenty of fengshui ornaments that greeted us when we pass by the entrance. It was rumoured that the male owner was a compulsive gambler whose crazy about striking 4D & toto. He even had funny looking fengshui gadgets being placed outside his main door. pixius as well. Starting from CNY this year, loan sharks had been harassing this family. And now, the neighbours nearby the unit, including units directly above & below were being affected. For people like that who applied fengshui recommendations WITHOUT curing oneself of his "illness" i.e. addition in gambling, is irresponsible; fengshui ornaments won't work but would "kill" off instead. If u want LT's products to work for u, u'll need to look into her 3rd dimension fengshui to have a stronger grasp of what she's promoting instead of simply buying blindly. This world would be free of unhappy people if they could cure their problems by simply using fengshui ornaments!

Ceiling Fans In Bedrooms - Good Or Bad Fs?
edenstrauss replied to Manic1004's topic in Geomancy/Fengshui
I felt that the ceiling for flats are really low, especially those older 3 room flats. The condominiums are supposed to have higher ceilings but their owners would normally airconditioned the entire place instead of installing ceiling fans, which I'm not sure if it's allowed by the respective condo management. And since the condo layouts are downsized, having a ceiling fan might jux mean making the place look cramp. not sure. -
Cctv Where To Buy?
edenstrauss replied to dean's topic in Moving House: Packing, Storing, Moving To Your New House
hi folks, does anybody have any idea that if I require remote access of CCTV with my iphone, would a 16 GB iphone suffice or do I need to go for a 32 GB? Any idea anybody, especially for those of you who are currently having remote viewing of your CCTVs at home? thanks in advance to all contributors to my question! -
Lillian Too is a very charismatic person; somebody who wows others off their feet jux by listening to her voice. Her personality & the way she entices others with what she says about her fengshui ideologies are god's gift becox it is definitely inborn. I would see that as her competitive edge. If you have gone to wof.com, you would have noticed that she has great fans all over the country & not forgetting where she started off in the early days of her career, she was a big gun with a bank. It's all about making $$ & capitalising on $$ making opportunities, which is definitely logical when anybody runs a business. Her fengshui business is conducted on a great scale & what fascinated me wasn't jux about her inherent ability to mersmerise others when she expresses her thoughts on fengshui, she had introduced the 3rd dimension fengshui which merges bazi, fengshui recommendations & one's religious beliefs. When she tried to introduce the 3rd dimension fengshui decades ago, it was viewed as radical becox fengshui back then, wasn't as popular & structured as how it is during such modern times. The words of buddhism had also spread & had been making waves in other parts of the world. As such, when she launched her ideas on 3rd dimension fengshui, I think it went down well with the audience world wide, including Europe & America where fengshui has been hot for years! But I must admit that it did occur to me even till today that it seemed ridiculous to say that we could attain certain achievements in life by jux buying some of her ornaments. However, I tried, and even though I bought an imitation version of lillian too's legendary bejewelled mystic knot (gold tone) from a china stall owner, I was pleasantly surprised that it worked wonders for me. I even applied her recommendation of using my fingers to draw the infinity sign thrice when the situation demands for it, and surprisingly, it worked! And I had also picked up one of her recommendations to talk to our trees which should preferrably come in a pair so that they would be motivated to grow well. She calls them wishing trees. Surprisingly, when 1 pot was almost not going to make it, I brought back another of its "friend" & place them side by side. Now, both pots are thriving & I think, competing with each other when it comes to blooming & growing new shoots. I could almost imagine them trying to outdo each other with larger blooms, bigger buds & thicker stems, etc... vain pots. And even though mine was nothing close to being "trees" but jux potted plants, I was so shocked that after talking to this pair of potted plants about $$, my hubby had unexpected windfalls, not jux once but several times... so, I'm still wondering if all these occurrences are coindental????

Whoa, if your balcony is large enough to accomodate your dining furnishings, then by all means, go ahead to have ur meals there... Nothing beats enjoying a breezy meal while overlooking some nice scenary. Aids your digestion too!

I think those fengshui ornaments for your old place might not be applicable at your new place. Afterall, the fengshui for your new place would supposedly be different from ur current home. And if u r getting ur place audited by a professional geomencer, he/ she might even ask you to put away some of those old ornaments.
-
hi jialuck, what are your thoughts about lillian too's 3rd dimension fengshui where she believes in combining, bazi, fengshui cures (including placement of ornaments) & one's religious beliefs? but i do agree with u that it takes more than jux a few ornaments to see fengshui recommendations work. it amazes me to see how people fall for these stones & crystals when their masters sell it to them.
-
If you install the reflective stickers all over ur bedroom windows & leave those windows opened, wouldn't it be a waste of $$ when those reflective films aren't serving their purposes? And like what jialuck has indicated, I agree that there is very little flat / condo owners could do since we folks cannot change the flat structure or other stuff like main door's entrance. I do share common sentiments with the contributors here on this thread that u are jeopardising your relationship with your neighbours unless your bedroom is not overseeing any other flats of almost immediate proximity. Having trouble with your neighbours can prove to be daunting if they are the nasty sort. It is also very unethical to apply fengshui such that it causes others' discomfort. According to my taiwanese geomencer, doing so would inflict bad karma on the master & the client becox what goes around comes around eventually. Moreover, I never found those window films agreeable becox when they start aging after baking under the hot sun, it'll create a mess over your windows. And they aren't cheap.
-
Hi snappy, whenever u r in doubt, u might want to get ur entire flat audited by a professional geomencer instead of DIY-ing fengshui on your own. That's my perspective as a home owner becox experimenting with the wrong colours could turn out to be disastrous when the owners' luck cycles are down.

U have to be very careful with pixius which are enshrined. Becox such practices are not viewed as orthodox. In fact, not encouraged. It can be akin to black magic becox these pixius aren't deities/ gods but celestial beasts. The word "beast" has already suggested that they are ferocious animals. When they are not enlightened creatures, having them for companionship can be disastrous. And jux a friendly word of advice, if u come across such shops, avoid stepping in becox for sure, they would have applied the same concept of "sucking in" customers' wealth. Eversince I heard about people installing pixius which are enshrined in their homes, I avoid anybody with pixius in their shops & homes unless I know them well enough to be certain that they don't practice such creepy stuff.

r u referring to the cost of the mirros? U could get them from IKEA at between $15 - $29.

Ceiling Fans In Bedrooms - Good Or Bad Fs?
edenstrauss replied to Manic1004's topic in Geomancy/Fengshui
I'll be more concerned over ceiling fans getting dislocated from the ceiling. There were reports even of recent months that the blade of the ceiling fan broke off while it was in operation & come slashing down at the hotel lobby in Singapore! Can u imagine getting beheaded in bed or dismembered into 2 parts? I've even had this neighbour who consistently quarrelled with the owners for the unit above becox their kids kept jumping up & down; and she blamed them when her ceiling fan came crushing down onto her new laminate flooring. -
Hi, Congrats to getting a new home! Ur flat offers alot of privacy becox the bedrooms cannot really be seen from the main door, which is good. However, I didn't like it when the aircon's outdoor unit is located directly outside the MBR, which meant that there's a higher tendency for noise pollution coming from the aircon compressor when it's turned on. However, becox your flat is irregularly shaped, there are "missing corners" when u divide the layout into 9 equal segments. 3 grids by 3 grids = 9 grid squares. Nothing can be done according to Joey Yap's DVDs. To learn more about missing corners, u could refer to the following link but there are many of such flats here in Singapore & people staying in there so, I supposed the impact varies from owner to owner: http://www.fengshui-import.com/catalog/missing-corners.html best wishes!

I Got Cheated
edenstrauss replied to nat0206's topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
Hi, I don't mean to be rude in having differing opinions. Empathizing is the highest level of listening according to Stephen Covey's 7 habits of Highly effective people. With reference to his book, his explanation of empathisizing with people is derived from this ancient chinese word 聽. After taking this chinese word apart, you will see the chinese characters ear (耳), eye (目), heart (心) & king (王). When a person listens with his/ her ears, eyes, heart and treats the person whose crying out as a king, that's empathisizing. However, before a person "earns" any sympathy from others, there must be convincing grounds for it. As such, what's shared with others to solicit that sympathy or empathy, must show concrete & coherent (logical) evidence for it. When the victim's write-up is articulated in such a manner that seems to hint on a lacking in coherence, that's when readers start to find it tough to feel sympathetic. In other words, the failure to "earn" sympathy becox it's undeserving. Anyways, I hoped that the thread starter has already solved her problem with her renovator. -
U have misinterpreted what I'm suggesting. "CONTRACTOR" is defined as a main contractor, meaning that instead of using an ID which is going to cost you alot more, I'm suggesting that you engage a contractor who provides renovation for your entire flat. I'm not recommending that you go for ala-carte services such that you have to call up different parties to deal with different aspects of your renovation. If you are able to do that, you're already close to becoming an ID & trust me, if you are going to do that, it can end up being a killer becox it's extremely stressful.
-
If I've not interpreted incorrectly, most ID firms would have contractual agreement with a particular brand of paint manufacturer to use their paints during renovation. Hoever, from the business perspective, it'll not be prudent for an ID firm to forgo money-making opportunities becox they couldn't match customers' painting requirements. Before you sign on with any renovator, I would suggest that you check with the him/ her if they could use Nippon paints for your place.
-
I would recommend Autosol which can be bought from hardware shops. I've polished my stainless steel wares with Autosol & surprisingly, most of the rusty spots came off. Perhaps I'll try it out on IKEA's stainless steel products & see how it works.
-
to add on, ID is supposed to design your flat & coordinate every single thing to get his design translated into reality for your home. As for contractors, they don't do designing but would simply do what you want them to do & get it done. Unless you want to DIY your own design which is risky especially when that's not your profession, some contractors would report to IDs whom they cooperated with & do what the ID tell them to do. From our own perspective as a home owner, we would rather get a good contractor than pay alot of $$ for an ID but getting saddled with lot's of workmanship issues with our flat. That could turn out to be a nightmare like what arowana has highlighted. At the end of the day, the decision lies with you home owners.

Hi MsChoong, if budget is an issue, do u want to consider dropping an ID & using a contractor instead? However, some contractors like mine (Ah Cheong) doesn't come cheap too becox they produce very good workmanship. U might want to take a look at his workmanship for demolishing works & wall fabrication of my flat at this thread: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=40463&st=0&p=634826&fromsearch=1entry634826 Hey but I thought that u mentioned that u were having some issues with the previous ID for your existing flat? If u were having such issues, then u might want to look elsewhere.
