After roaming around at the recent Ranchu fish show, I've decided to do up a new thread for the venue of the contest. The Mainland Tropical Fish Farm at Pasir Ris is one of the places where both my hubby & myself would chillout at when we require a nice quiet place to unwind. As my hubby is a great lover of fishes, we love hanging around to have a good view of all the fishes & other animals (chickens, roosters, etc) residing at the fish farm. Viewing is open to the public for free so do enjoy the fresh air & "kampong" life out there at Mainland Tropical Farm before they wind down the place in about 5 years time. The government had decided to utilise the land at Pasir Ris Farmway for other purposes. It's pretty unfortunate that we had to see the fish farm go when the time comes. As such, the photographs uploaded here in this thread would become reminiscent of the past in the near future.

All new flats come with such doors that wouldn't lock out anybody when they step out & the door gets slammed shut by say, a strong wind. I was being locked in as a 3 year old kid while my mother was locked out. Personally, I would suggest that you try to get used to the existing lock that came with your new door.

I am also a person who reacted adversely to crystals. They made me unwell, sick & in worse cases, I throw up & have severe migraines, and experience unexplanable mood swings. Check the possible side effects of coming into close contact with crystal under this link: http://www.crystalsgems.com/everyday-uses-of-crystals/possible-side-effects-of-using-crystals/ The only crystals I possess now are my mala beads which are used for reciting buddhist mantras & they seemed fine. Those ornamental types are out for me.

Did you try consulting reputable crystal dealers on where u should be placing ur crystals? They might be able to give you a general overview of how you could place your crystals.
-
Thanks for thinking so highly of me but that's not my forte. U have to get somebody else to help u.

I don't mean to be rude in saying this but geomencers r humans & would definitely need 2 earn a living. Nobody would go on a charity when it meant business. The part about 'stealing' from clients' bazi is interesting. Geomencers r already acting against god's will when they dabble with bazi reading of customers. They need to watch what they say to customers becox that would hv a very significant impact on the later. Some clients either break or heal after the consultation. That in turn would affect the geomencers' karma and that of their descendants. If they hv practiced anything unorthodox, they wouldn't be able to get away with it. The negative consequences will come bouncing back at them when the time is right. U can check that out on YouTube where there's lot's of talk about such unhealthy practices & what happened to these unethical geomencers. As such, the modern day geomencers who r reputable don't subscribe to such practices. And 'stealing' of wealth based on bazi isn't so easily done. Whatever is yours is yours. Nobody can jux steal it away from u without any rhyme or reason. There r people with a negative magnetic field. As such they tend to draw bad company towards them. There is a high chance that they get hitched to unethical geomencers too. I would suggest that u master the art of crystal placements yourself becox there isn't such a thing as a one-size-fits-all on fengshui. U can have 5 geomencers telling u 5 different things about crystals & 5 completely different locations or angles to place your crystals. So if u cannot build up a trust in any geomencers, the best bet is to master it yourself & become a guru in this area. There isn't such a thing as turning things around with jux a few crystals. I don't mean it as a gesture of insult but I had ever commented on renotalk as to what happened to an ex-colleague who got fired even though she was a great fan of crystals. Instead of working at the heart of her work problems, she invested in crystals that she felt would pull her out of the mess she was already in.

Do pardon me for my ignorance for what I'm about to ask: Did you geomencer recommend that you put an air purifier or a mini fountain (aka water feature)? What sort of business sales are you referring to? An air purifier refers to a gadget used for getting rid of bad stench in the air or for injecting fragrances in the air. (see photograph below) I couldn't help but wonder aloud as to what your geomencer would say about having air purifiers placed all over the house. This can be a practice for some people who stayed in flats/ condos that reek of bad stench coming from neighbours, especially when they are in the catering business & prepare alot of food at home. Cooking fumes would just fly all over their flats like nobody's business & make its way out of the windows & upwards to the unit above them.
-
What sort of crystals r u referring to? Is there a special reason why you must place crystals at home? If itx Swarovski crystals, itx for decorative purposes so I didn't think there is much fengshui implications. I would recommend that you consult a qualified geomencer becox there are people who went bankrupt or fell sick after placing crystals at home.

Renovation is a tricky business becox there r many variable factors, eg the element of luck is definitely involved. The older the flat, the more complications u get... And what is good for a customer might jux be unacceptable for another becox everybody has different expectations, communication styles etc etc... When short listing renovators, do not engage any whom u feel uncomfortable about even with good reviews.

Hi buddy welcome back! hope that everything has been sorted out & u guys hv settled down by now...

Please visit the gallery 2 see for yourself. 3d effect isn't the same as lumpy paints on the painting... Those with lumpy oil paints that hardened on painting may not look alive. On the contrary, those lumpy types look artificial & 'fake'. What I meant by 3d meant that the picture look alive & not 'flat'. U will hv 2 see the paintings in person & u will know what I mean. The Chinese landscape painting in my other thread on the art gallery has that 3d effect.

Chickens & Roosters We were surprised when we saw roosters & chickens roaming freely at Pasir Ris Park. Some had attempted to "fly" but it was more like a high jump. -

The rest of the 4 consecutive photographs features crabs, ranging from huge ones to smaller versions. They were taken with our digital camera's zoom-in function : -

Creatures from the swamp I didn't mean the famous Swampthing shown on TV during childhood when I refer to creatures from the swamp. The creatures are the habitants found in the swampy region of the Pasir Ris Park. The photograph below shows a mudskipper : -

Hi, the art gallery is definitely open to the public so u can drop by. However, please call the shop before visiting becox u wouldn't want to make a wasted trip. Oops, just realised that I forgot to include their contact number in the photographs. Their number is 6-2252961 & the mobile number of Mr Yong is 9052-9556. They've got plenty of other canvas paintings & what I've photographed here are just a few of what they've had in the gallery. -
It's interesting to observe that the symbolic meanings of the different orientation of the elephant trunk is controversial. There's a belief from the fengshui perspective that an elephant with its trunk raised up symbolises good fortune & luck. On the other hand, there are people who hold the belief that an elephant figurine with a downward trunk brings bad luck. How true is that I do not know but a real-life elephant would be suffering from muscle spasms if it had to hold its trunk upwards all the time! Such beliefs had been much disputed with across cultures. In Thailand, elephants are auspicious animals so whether the figurines had trunks that point upwards or downwards, they are considered an emblem of good luck. Then, I came across variations in beliefs that the elephant with an upward trunk is used for attracting good luck whereas the downward pointing trunk is meant for guarding homes or dispensing good luck to others.

Invite Cai Shen And 1St Occasion Of Opening New House Door
edenstrauss replied to NeoBY's topic in Geomancy/Fengshui
Hmm, I'm a sceptic when it comes to invitation of the God of Wealth. If there's a keen desire to do so, then, it's best to consult a professional becox the outcome might just turn out disastrous. My dad had been an avid fan of the God of Wealth & had been inviting the God of Wealth based on the instructions published in Tan Khoon Yong's annual prediction book since I was a kid. I could still recall how he received the deity through the luvre windows of our toilet during one of the years. He is a very prosperous, wealthy man who did well in his finances... I would like to pass the verdict that this ritual of inviting the God of Wealth is subjective becox it doesn't work for everybody. Contrary to those who did well by such rituals, I've even had friends & a relative who went from a riches to rags or even nothing after inviting the God of Wealth into their homes. Some were so unfortunate that they invited unwanted "things" into their homes... So, please approach the professionals instead of experimenting on your own! It's akin to playing with fire. -
I came across this fountain at the alibaba website on sales leads but the manufacturer would only deal with wholesalers. Unless you could track down a supplier here in Singapore, otherwise, you've got to dig it up from other channels.

Where To Get White/black Stone Rat Pendant?
edenstrauss replied to NeoBY's topic in Geomancy/Fengshui
Hi, did you try this building that's just across a small road from Sin Chiew at waterloo street. Sin Chiew is a shop that sells buddhists prayer materials, crystal beads & has a huge life size golden laughing buddha being placed right at its entrance. It is located a few units away from the famous Guanyin waterloo street temple. I'm not sure about the name of the building but there are many shops in there that sells all types of fengshui items. U might also want to try out fortune centre, which is across the Hindu temple on the other side of the Guanyin's temple. As a last resort, you might want to try buying it online on China's taobao website. They've got all kinds of stuff there. gd luck! -

I almost forgot to upload this impressive painting of the legendary Guan-Di warrior. Unfortunately, the canvas painting in the photograph looks patchy because of the lighting. The real painting looks gorgeous without these patchy marks on it. So here comes... -

The "Secret" Garden ... This pretty & colourful painting reminds me of Frances Hodgson Burnett's The Secret Garden, which was adapted by film directors & made into films. ______________________________________________________________________________________ This is another canvas painting which features a garden during the autumn... lot's of rich hues from the colour palette of the autumn colour scheme. -

The symbolic series : A ship sailing in the choppy sea ... This is a photograph of a huge ship sailing in the sea with choppy waves & a symbolic painting which is a good buy for those who require it. It might come across as something that is cliche & old school like what some of the forumers had suggested before in other threads where fengshui is concerned. However, it had worked for my dad many years ago in his previous house. So whether it's cliche or old-fashioned or the traditional businessmen type of practices, if it works, then why not? -
Hi folks, Thank you for visiting this thread on buddha canvas painting. I've created another thread on canvas painting by another art gallery that isn't pricey given the good workmanship & service. If you are interested in viewing some of the art pieces found in the gallery, kindly visit the following topic: Reasonably Priced Canvas Paintings From 艺美苑 (Yi Mei Yuan) http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=45611&st=0&p=684196&fromsearch=1entry684196 cheers!

Reasonably Priced Canvas Paintings From 艺美苑 (Yi Mei Yuan)

The symbolic series : Chinese Landscape (scenary painting) ... Awesome, beautiful, heavenly & "breathing in life" is how I would describe this gorgeous chinese landscape painting! However, these photographs don't do the painting justice becox you've got to see the painting in person to get what I mean... Can you see the 3D effects of the hill on the left hand side of the painting? I hope that it doesn't sound Greek to all of you. This is definitely one of my favourite (chinese) landscape paintings in the art gallery. I've tried my best to capture the 3-dimensional beauty of this heavenly scenary depicted on the canvas. It's definitely a challenge becox it's extremely tough to capture the graduation of oil paint which is done with a technique that gives it a 3D feel to the painting. However, please do not mistaken or interpret my description as one that's made up of thick, lumpy oil paints that is found rampantly in some galleries. The artist who drew up this beautiful painting is someone whose great ingenuity in his/ her art of canvas painting. It's definitely not easy to come up with something at such a magniture. From my perspective, canvas painting of chinese landscape scenary is an even greater challenge as compared to the conventional version on rice paper. If it isn't done properly, it could look "flat" & boring... something that came across as being duplicated through coloured printing. This version is definitely many notches above your run of the mill that's being peddled out there at a much lower price of below $100. If you take a look @ the direction of the waterfall, it's also a symbolic painting for those who believe in using pictures to uplift fengshui of their premises. However, the orientation should be such that the waterfall is entering through the door or windows.
