I think it could be the block, estate or town council... Water pressure issue not very transparent in my opinion. I'm using instant so no dice :/ -
Just to give an update on my gas piping issues. I guess this applies to all hdb dwellers where the main gas pipe runs from the top to be bottom floors through the Kitchen with gas meters in their kitchen Here's what happened in order to rectify the mistakes their older counterparts made by installing just copper pipe from the main galvanized steel pipe instead of a steel joint with shut off valve. Result: Big gaping holes in 5 of my tiles... Citygas's response was that it's my contractor's fault that he didn't contact Citygas to come down for an inspection to ensure the correct piping prior to renovation. Told them that they should have flagged out when the meter dept came to my place to do a meter inspection before the cut-over, they replied saying the meter guys don't have the expertise to know that... Luckily, the guys who came to rectify my problem are nice chaps. Else, I would have stormed down to Citygas office then... Painful lesson for me, hopefully it's useful material for everyone here... Edited: Some issues with imageshack where my pictures are all rotated clockwise... Not sure what's the reason, apologies for the weird picture orientation...

Forgot to mention it'll probably be prudent to also have a ventilation fan in your MBR's toilet so that it can whisk away the moisture after shower -
Hey~ I bought the Ezzi Hi-Dry laundry system, was served by Angeline. Was very professional in her service and when she heard that I'm from Renotalk, gave me a good discount and I got the system for around $600 Here are some photos of it in my utility room.

Hey May, You're staying in Boon Keng? Is your area near Sheng Song? Your place really is huge for a single dwelling haha Looking at the space you have, I was thinking along the same line with others about having a single room for WIW... Just some food for thoughts, since you don't want to use up an entire room perhaps you could hack both walls of "Bedroom 3" and "Main Bedroom". Have the new "Bedroom 3" wall eat some space into the living room and sit it flush with the main beam of the "Main Bedroom" and "WC 1". With that, you'll have a slightly bigger room than just hacking the wall between "Bedroom 3" and "Main Bedroom". You can then partition the combined room into one big section as your sleeping area and the small section as WIW directly next to the toilet entrance. As such, once you exit the "WC 1" you'll be in your wardrobe so you can take your time to pick your clothes in your WIW after showering. Was gonna advise you to lock the WIW entrance when you do that but remembered that you're living alone so not an issue I guess The above is just an idea, hopefully it can help spark some inspiration in you. Nonetheless take your time here as there's tonnes of ideas in Renotalk haha... but do check with your ID or contractor to see if it's feasible for your flat as main beams, pipes and what-nots really affect the final design quite a lot :/ -
Congrats, Boon Keng's a great place As for the wall tiles... try using tapping the tiles with the short wooden pole from a broomstick The sound is very obvious if the tile isn't properly cemented on the wall. For tiles on the floor, just stepping with your feet will be sufficient I guess... All the best for your reno

Quick update here, post pics later... So the Citygas contractor that came on Friday to rectify my gas meter issue... said my gas pipe is copper which is not in accord to regulations and it's leaking in the area where it's covered by my cement kitchen base ... Fast forward to Sat, Technical Officer came down and said have to hack away part of the cement base to install galvanized iron pipe to replace the copper gas pipe... Fast forward to Monday, the guys who came down to fix the issue had to hack away chucks of my cement + tiled base to install pipe... I leave the result to you guys' imagination for now before I post the pics tomorrow My laundry drying system from Ezzi-Living was installed today as well, installer was prompt and efficient with his installation. Will post pictures of it as well tomorrow... I'm currently wondering if I should install window grilles for the windows that are not along the corridor... No kids here and I'm on the 7th level but am worried about spiderman thieves if they spot that I'm the only household on the block that doesn't have grilles... Am really worn out mentally and physically with the reno decisions... sigh...

lol... I think I'm waiting for the heart attack when the bill comes Thanks for all the advice, think I'm just gonna live with it... Gonna spend additional money trying to rectify the stupid gas pipe and meter so I'm trying to cut down my other costs... I'm not quite happy with my air con installation but can't say anything about it liao. Nonetheless, good to hear that imperial aircon gives such decent services though Just some updates, other than the stupid gas meter issue I'm having with city gas which I will elaborate when they fix up the stupid meter. I bought 7 sets of full extension blum runners, 36 hinges and 18 blumotion for around 365 bucks. Not sure if that's a good price but it'll help if you bring along your contractor's name card to get additional discounts

Plumber has already painted the copper pipes beige so it doesn't look as ugly as it did before... Am a little curious what do you guys do to hide the aircon steel bracket? Mine looks ugly Lastly... my pinkish toilet bowl... Managed to dissuade my wife from buying an electrical bidet... saved $450 on the bidet alone haha...

Different color to show where living ends and where dining starts... I can finally wash my hands with the basins up... however, water pressure is abysmal and I'm on the mid level... I guess I should call my Town Council and not the SP? My shower set... nothing impressive other than the lousy water pressure... Gas meter's in the way of my cabinet... Called up Citygas and they said it'll cost me $100 if I want to shift the meter for even 5cm... Good luck to me on 17th...

After L-Box's up, electrician came back and there was light! The only yellow light in the house... Kitchen still looks the same as carpenter will only come in to install the cabinets on the 18th
-
reserved for the L-box pictures that are in my iphone...
-
Pipes in the shower-room Where the small basin's gonna be My toilet Laundry Room And the L-box guy came and did up the L-boxes
-
Then the plumber came and the pipes went up...
-
Electrician made a two way 3 gang switch so that I can control my lights from the door and from the living hall One dual power socket inside the kitchen cabinet but carpenter said to take out and remount else where as it's blocking my drawers... During this time, the painters came and painted the house as well... Chose rose white for my walls and had the ceilings as white...

Have been AWOL for a long time due to work, reno and buying of stuff... Am almost done with all the shopping as I don't have holes in my pockets cause I no longer have any pockets... After the last post, power outlets were up, the plumber came, painting done, L Box up and lights on. You're Mrs V ah...? haha, let me know when you want to drop by but really nothing to look at... Here are my power outlets and light switches...

Oh... that's nice of them Will try to remember that when I have my furniture delivered hee...

Glad to hear flooroptions has good after sale services However, isn't there supposed to be extra 10% wastage that they'll hand over to you if they didn't use all of the laminates?
-
Dex bro, Your place is looking fantastic ~Envy envy~

My aircon in the common room The one in the master room Have to put up with the eye sore trunking running across the mbr wall I guess...
-
I guess I'll be the first to post on such hiccups then haha... Thanks for the advice, have scheduled a meeting with my carpenter tomorrow to discuss this... He has to come over from the causeway every time we schedule a meeting Now for the wiring pics... Have decided to put my breaker in my common room instead of having it out in the living

That's one big factor we considered about actually before reno. However, as we don't have time to jaga the reno so decided to go with someone close... Want to cover the base cause of aesthetic issues :/ Planning hazel brown for the cabinet's laminate
