OPPO 83 is good stuff! You're right, you only need to find out how the audio performance for music is. Pioneer should be getting the 920 end of this week or early next week for audition. I've not had a chance to plan for a trip to compare both, so i'm tempted to just take pioneer for the Pioneer AV control in iPhone.. by the way, the Pioneer is 100-150 more expensive than the onkyo 608 (i feel this is a premium charged for the new arrival). When i read posts and reviews from the US, Onkyo 608 is more expensive than Pioneer 920! Also in the US reviews i read, it is not fair to compare 920 and 608. Onkyo 608 should be compared to Pioneer 1020, while Pioneer 920 should be compared to Onkyo 508 instead! hmm.... headache..

PM-ed you. I read that ABT is better for video, nothing mentioned on Faroudja better on audio. However, i interpreted the article i read (from cnet i think) as saying what vincenzo just did.

Dear forummers and informed bros, In terms of performance for these 2, do you have any comments when comparing between the 2? I was going to get the Onkyo 608 until i was told about Pioneer 920 which is here! I cannot find much info on 920 since its relatively new in Singapore. In the US, some have used but not much detailed review in terms of performance. Only the features were mentioned. The features are somewhat similiar to Onkyo 608, except for some slight difference (i.e. iphone/ipod compatible, 4vs6 hdmi slots etc) In terms of performance, any bros can advise? Thanks bros on giving all the advice so far.. I've been following this thread because i'm in for some shopping as well. Just a quick question. Can any kind bro be able to comment on the 2 receivers, Onkyo 608 and Pioneer VSX 920? I'm considering these 2 and can't find much performance comparison for both and 920 doesn't have much reviews yet since its relatively new in the market. I noticed that Pioneer's response bandwidth is 20-20k hz while onkyo 608 is 5-100k hz, which seems like a better specs. Does this mean Onkyo is better in performance? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
