  1. Yup, my future neighbours downstairs from 2nd to 16th floor....dunno if all of them will do hacking works liao....
  2. Aiyohh that's scary! Applefreak, better take care ya & wear slippers at your current flat.
  3. Hi tingshen !! Yes it's true cannot use normal paint bcos it won't adhere to the PVC bathroom door surface, without properly primed. I saw this Zinsser brand specialty paint primer product in either Home-Fix or Self-Fix (sorry I can't remember which one). It's called B-I-N Primer Sealer, comes in a can. Not sure though if it comes in a spray can too. How this product works is that u paint on your bathroom door with this primer sealer for one or two good coats, then when dry u can paint over with any latex or oil-based paint of your choice. But the tricky part is getting the correct top finishing coat preferably waterproof, since bathroom door tends to be damp or wet. Anyway, u can check out the product specs here: Zinsser B-I-N Primer Sealer shellac-based Cheers!
  4. So far don't see much choice here locally. Can try check out this US company MatsMatsMats.com - for home, office, gym, etc. Cheers!
  5. Thanks Mace for the info Now I finally know what is more appropriate to get for my friends for housewarming. And that includes my future neighbours too! No wonder, years ago when I was preparing for my wedding & discussing with my florist abt the Begonia Ballroom floral decor...she said "Cheyyyy....choy choy choy!" when I asked her if can use frangipanis.
  6. Just curious and being careful of cultural sensitivities: How do fake plants or flowers affect one, in fengshui? Any particular flowers that are taboo or pantang? Let's say I give my friend fresh flowers in a bouquet, pot or vase for her housewarming...is it advisable?
  7. Happy Birthday Odie! Errrr....since you not sure how to clear your ten day leave....I got one suggestion: Babysit my son for one day, sure feel like ten days oredi Just kidding!
  8. I know what u mean Ever wanna pangsai buey tahan until cannot hold anymore, once butt cheeks touch the cold seat....aiyoh...major shock sia. Actually it's better to spray from front to back, and not back to front. Imagine whatever germs from the back, migrate to the front. :faintz liao:
  9. I don't mind as long u don't call me shifu lah...paisey....I'm still learning
  10. Acid-etched decoration is produced by covering the glass with an acid-resistant substance such as adhesive vinyl, anti-etch gel, wax, varnish, or grease, through which the design is scratched using a needle or sharp tool. An etching cream is then applied to etch the exposed areas of glass. This leaves a matte finish and is usually a much lighter color to whitish appearance. Acid-etching process results in a smoother frosted appearance on the glass/mirror surface, very uniform flat look. Can DIY if you want (etching liquid or cream should be available at Art Friend), but must be very careful: must use rubber gloves and work on a plastic or stainless steel surface as support, or else it will etch out your surface and becomes matt if work surface is porcelain. Very corrosive, hence try to wear eye protection (eg. goggles) as well. Sandblast is the process where fine sand particles directed at the glass surface at high velocity/speed using pressured air to etch a design, to create a dimensional look. Usually done on figurines, etc. But oily fingerprints tend to be more noticeable on sandblasted finishes. Depending on the skill of the sandblaster/artisan, it is possible to have a look of several seamless layers/blends on one surface, which is not possible with acid-etching process. Sandblasting in general costs more, due to the steady-hand skills needed. Safety protection is also required due to the risks of dusts, abrasions and inhalation of fine sand particles.
  11. In the end, managed to get hubby to be convinced by his old friend: that just to save $1300 for painting and invest personal labour & time to take at least 1 week leave, especially for new flat, is better to leave to the pros. The surface preps, the primers, the tools required, the swee swee no botch ups on edges, the timing before and after carpentry, the touch ups here and there......headache lah.
  12. Thanks fteocs for the info Yes, you're right abt the next level that will be pneumonia...that's why I took no chances abt this. Cheers!
  13. Wah, that was fast applefreak I was abt to post it here, and since you already did....Thank you So, how's the mashed potatoes? Btw, the putri salat recipe, my SIL will let me know soon bcos she need to double-check her recipe lah...it's all in her head.
  14. My son now back to his usual cheeky self. He's now recovering from bronchiolitis, which me & hubby got a scare when on Tuesday late night, his breathing was very rapid, vomitting after each coughing spell. So later in the pre-dawn (I couldn't sleep the whole night, while hubby was oblivious to the whole thing) I woke hubby up, with the GP's referral letter for KKH in hand, zipped to KKH A&E. So after the doctor examined my son, w/o delay had to administer the nebuliser on him for a total of 4 rounds (as my son's oxygen level initially was hovering around 78%), with 20-30 minutes rest in between. Was finally given the all-clear by the doc, when his oxygen level finally rose to 100%. So we were at KKH from 4.30am at triage to almost 8am at discharge. What was very scary for me was that from both sides, there's no asthma or eczema at all, and yet my son kena this bronchiolitis which is unfortunately viral in nature. Now he's recovering better....because for the whole day today he's been very loud, cheeky and naughty!
  15. Hee heee...your baby soooo cute! Rascal like Daddy issit?
  16. Hee heee.....more privacy mah... Btw, here's my son saying: Hello Aunties! Hello Uncles!
  17. Are the pics shot in the morning or afternoon? With such sunlight, that's very gd for hanging laundry to dry
  18. Congrats! And now you're officially a Daddy! Wah...your Baby Boy has good height & weight.
  19. Wahaahaaa.....just eat the cookies can "grow" to F cup liao. But me no need to eat the cookies, au naturale already !! Yup, me took part-time Dip in BA in late 2002 in PSB Acd also, first 2 modules auto-exempt, but got to re-module 5. During the last two modules, found out I was pregnant...ho sey liao...until today I haven't register for the modules to repeat. So better clear all before got baby har. Hee heee.....bedsheets are always never enough lah.
  20. LOL..Blueberi, after exam straightaway go retail therapy har? Your exam venue at Orchard Road issit? PT in biz admin dip......don't mind me ask you... if you're in the first few modules or last module oredi? Yup, like what applefreak mentioned abt the $28/m curtain, I agree. Sometimes when the prices sounds like to good to be true...is scary. Deathcoth now on standby, preparing to be a daddy liao. Next year he can celebrate Father's Day, sure very touching one.
  21. If you're talking abt fabric only, I find that very very reasonable. Come across before only curtain fabric costs $85/m There are so many grades of organza, higher quality ones tends to be dry-clean only. If the washing instruction mentioned can hand-wash or machine-wash, then most probably the organza fabric is mixed-blend. The full length is it for bedroom or living room?
  22. Have you tried Spotlight at Plaza Singapura?
