Yah ours was hanging bracket type not those with a small balcony. But i a bit confused of what you are trying to say. The compressor is like the link attached. http://www.coolserve.com.sg/htmdocs/produc...ils.asp?id=3051 Do you mean the grille got manufacturer defects that's why causing the unit to be noisy everyday while in operation?

Hi kimsim, Thanks for your info. Actually i am talking about the compressor (condensing unit) got the whinning/humming sound being emitted into the room when it is running. The pitch is very irritating. But in fact the fancoil also got some noise too, maybe i can try your method. Btw what kind of tape u using?

I installed Panasonic aircon 3 months ago but the CU is noisy as compare to my previous brand Carrier. The whining/humming sound will emits from the outside to my room, even in the morning or afternoon you can hear it & the sound level is extremely higher during the quiet night.

Replacing Daikin R22 Inverter System

Hi Paddie, I had used Gain City installation service 3 months ago using existing pipings as told by them it is ok but now got sound problems. IMO they not very good in analyzing or solving complains encountered by consumer. Everytime they came they gave us the feeling that b'cos it does not involve any $$, they will make comment that they not earning $$ if keep coming back. So we also very paiseh in keep asking them to come back but no choice b'cos the sound problems cannot be solved till now. The fan coil, casing enclosures & compressor keep making irritating & weird sound, whining, humming etc. Also cannot explain in details, it is mixture of different sounds together, imagine the sound generating on & on every night, the whole room fill with sound. As consumer we also hope installation job will not create any problems, if they come back we also had to keep doing our part in protecting the laminated floorings to prevent any damages done during the work. -
Compressor is noisy in operation (humming & whinning sound). Fan coil unit vibrate with humming & tick tick sound even when the gas is cut. So if the compressor is operating + fan coil operating, so mixture of weird sounds. The gas evaporating sound is also very loud & emits out from the enclosures into the room. Almost everyday sleepless night .....

I was also recommended this brand but really regretted after installing it. Also not very happy with Gain City technicians not able to solve the problems.

Sharp Inverter Aircon - Super Noisy
whitefantasy replied to booksntoys's topic in Electronics & Electricals
Did you re-use old pipings? For our case we use old pipings. We told the sales b4 purchase our MB previously fan coil is 12,000 btu & if there will be any problems if re-using old piping. The sales told us no problem. Hence we got discount of S$50 for each room for re-using old pipes. On the day of installation, Gain City so called in house techincians (i suspect they are sub-cons) never did mention anything abt if they flare our old larger gas pipe to panasonic new smaller gas pipe will cause any problems or not. It is only until the noise problems being detected then we knew abt the difference in pipings for different btu fan coil. But their so-called in house technicians are not that professional or skillful enough to solve problems. In actual fact when the noise sound is really quite loud & high pitch, we actually advise them to extend/lengthen the outdoor piping & insulation, sure enough it manage to solve a bit of the sound but not totally because i think it is still not long enough extension. The technician say will discuss with the other technicians to see if can hv better ways to solve the problems completely. But after waited for more than 1 month plus, not a single call fm him. Hence we decided to call up Gain City again & ask if they could send other better or responsible techicians. Guess what they say they hv to send back the same technician & they say to change the piping size to match the panasonic ones & going to charge us S$200. -
Sharp Inverter Aircon - Super Noisy
whitefantasy replied to booksntoys's topic in Electronics & Electricals
So in the end did Gain City manage to solve the noise problems? Is the blower or compressor noisy? Gain City also installed the Panasonic non-inverter aircon for us & the gas running sound is loud with weird whining noise. Also the blower seem to create vibrating noise (we set at medium fan speed) -
Thanks for your help, greatly appreciate it. Will get in touch with him soon. Seem like Aron is a nice guy too! No inspection cost

Now is too late to say that & beside that we needed instalment plans for our aircon purchase. Btw do you know if Aron know how to solve our problems? Can you help to check with him? Thanks!

No, they are sub-cons. As the gas running sound got a weird sound (loud whining sound + gas emuslion sound) initially, we ask the technician to lengthen the outside insulation & pipings. Previously with Carrier air-con also got this weird sound so they lengthen the outside to solve the problems. When Gain City technicians came, they keep saying for lengthening they don't hv money to earn. So when they lengthen also lengthen a bit & not like what Carrier technician done previously to totally solve the problems. We are re-using exisiting pipings & previously our fan coil is 12,000 btu & the piping size is 4, but now for panasonic is 9,000 btu & piping size is 2. So the technician welded the exisiting piping 4 to panasonic 2. We are not told of this at the time of installation. But before we bought, we did mention to the sales person that our masterbedroom previously was 12,000 btu fan coil and if there is any problems if we re-use piping, the sales person say no. According to Panasonic technician, they mention is due to wrong pipings use? Now Gain City say if we want to change the pipings for the masterbedroom we must pay additional S$200. When we re-use existing pipings we are getting rebate of only S$50. If at the point of installation they mention that the pipings needed to change for the masterbedroom, then on the spot we can do that and not get the rebate of S$50 & not ended needed to pay S$200? We are not able to change all our existing pipings in our masterbedroom due to the fact that our pipings are covered with chemical foam injection to solve condensation problems. And we also ask Gain City technician if they can guarantee if after changing to the correct pipings there won't be any sweating problems & they say the cannot guarantee that.

Well after your recommendation i decided to take up Gain City for the aircon installation. But quite disappointed coz the technicians are sub-cons & not very professsional or good in solving any problems that had occur. So now we still hv to bear with the loud gas whining sound & emulsion of gas running sound that is being echo into our masterbedroom everyday. The technician say will call us to provide a better solution but till now more than one month they never call.

Sorry to divert a little here. Does anyone know where to buy the sheet that can be use to sound proof or reduce the noise that echo from the box-up containing the pipings of aircon? Because the gas running sound is quite loud & hissing sound always emits out from the box-up panel casing. Hope some expert here able to help. TIA
