thanks for all your feedbacks, my Mum-in-law got a priest to come our place to take a look, they had CLEANSED it. we hv nt exactly move back in since.. cos we do not have alot of valuables in there. only a almost empty fridge, washing machine and a small old LCD tv in our room & a queen size bed. Rest of the electronics from Harvey Norman are arriving this afternoon. We did nt change the lock that time coz it didnt cross our minds abt this theft issues. Also we tot SG is safe mah. But we had change the locks, mentioned on other threads, we visited CONTAT Decor @ Bedok last week. The Sales guy is super knowledgeable & professional & really understood our "situation", thou he did laugh @ d spooky events. We didn't go for Digital cos the handle of the lock is too near to the gate. So we when with this designer handle that is very compact & stylish. Anyway, We <i>invested</i> $400+ for the new gate lock & door lock, to share with you guys i got the following. <b>Door lock 1. Lever handle $88</b> - handle is Stainless steel which is more updated! the old one is old tarnish gold from HDB <b>2. PRO-SAFE mortice $35</b> - also S/steel, got 2 time lock, so look more secure <b>3. Mul-T-Lock 7x7 thumbturn w 5 keys $95</b> - hi-security cylinder, cannot duplicate unless u got the Mul-T-Lock card & must bring our NRIC appointed agents to duplicate <b>gate lock 4. Mul-T-Lock 7x7 2sided key $75</b> - for gate as well. this one is 2 sided key <b>additional items 5. Key alike charges for 2 Mul-T-Lock $50</b> - this is make the 1key open both the door and the gate, save space in my key pouch. <b>6. Wat is DIGITAL MURALS?? isit those PROJECTED graphics on walls like clubs?

We just moved into this HDB resale flate 2 weeks ago and monday nite we heard our gates and door open in d middle of the nite ard 2am. it was distinctive cos our door makes this sound when it opens. when we went out of our room. we heard the door close and when we open the door the gates were unlock & swinging open!! and we heard somebody in a distance going down the stairs.. both of us were totally devastated!! We called the police but when they came, we do not have anything important or expensive missing and there were no signs of force-open. all the locks are not damage... We had submitted our contractors details as they are looking into investigations. We just moved in & the only people we can think of which could hold the keys are: - Temp maid which help us clean the house [but had return the key] - Contractor, renovator. [but had returned the key] - Property agent [which had surrendered all keys] - Ex owners, Ex-tenants?? Till now we still wonder either if 1. we had not lock the gates & we are still un-sober manifesting ideas 2. it a real crime which some have keys to our house? 3. is our unit Haunted? we are really disturbed... we brought all our valuables and are sleeping at our parents.

so sad that i have to reply my own thread. but i found my replacement lock. Anyway for those of u who will be hunting this in d future, u can try Contact Decor. www.contatdecor.com they brand to replace LUCKY brand or POSSE brand is PRO-SAFE. Not sure where else got PRO-SAFE cos they are in BEDOK ard. [zzz. i came all the way from Punggol.

I also got this! its adjustable if u have a size 13 spanner. Saw the contractor doing it & we ask him how. O M G ! ! ! After hearing what YALE & Affordable luxury got to say about Digital lock from local & parallel agents. It seems no point to buy from parallel importers. How **** cheap can it be??? When shops dump goods way below normal price. there must be sm trade-off. In this case, Parallel imports may buy in cheap goods from manufactures to sell cheap price. but if factory sell cheap goods, maybe they're Lower quality parts, use out-dated parts, or even defected parts when the buyers will never get to release after use. & when failure occurs, they can blame it on mis-use by users [or installer for this case] And that will never be merchants or dealers fault. but who is there provide Technical advise. Let me share my personal experience. I used to work in a Japanese firm in Jarkata, doing accounts payable. There are plenty of agents supplying to us, Counter-proposing "EQUILVALENT" goods which they claim to be OEM from SAME FACTORY. & when equipments arrive & commission to use we made the full payment. Price maybe 40% lower but it broke down within 10 months, they cant support system & r very reluctant to service. Clients filed for LDs & flew in technicians from "same factory' to service the equipments. they claimed that the product is a copy from competitor, parts used are of poorer materials & parts are also slightly imperfect. meaning they may have used defective parts to assemble. reason for this is that the BUYER SQUEEZED they manufacture for lowest price, & manufacturers lower quality goods r produced to meet the budget. my prev company save $80k buying "equivalent" but end up with client's damages for $60K, $10k for legal, $40k replacements. if this can happen in biz to biz, this is lagi common in biz to consumers. Sometimes clothes can buy cheap cheap, if it spoils just change. no harm trying but if u have fittings, in this case your main door lock, that are of poorer quality it would end up costing more to replace. $450/unit from parallel agent. + $100+ for install + $80 x a few times for failure of goods beyond repair + buy another set? + all ur time calling & cursing the agent, getting nagged by ur wife? You reckon what is ur final price u pay? where as, if u buy $1000k from agent - installation covered - free repair for failure of goods + better quality = longer lifespan U actually pay less with a better peace in mind. Be wise & do the right thing, if u think u cant afford the real thing, dun settle for "equivalent" that claims to do the same, end of the day. u end up paying more. I've been a very keen buyer, reading many related older post back to 1year ago. I do observe many ppl who share honest feedback & a couple of hard sellers that dominates threads with over defensive posts claiming product are 'Equivalent" & covering flaws. God knows what benefits they are getting, probably getting handsome commission if they secure a sale. I had spoken to many agents [authorized & parallel], miss a couple of powerhouse group buys & even tried a group buy which didn't work. Kudos to those that offer true value & be warned that there are dodgy hard seller. U can easily tell after reading for a while.

my wife w/ her mum engage a contractor for doors that are close to $400 each for room doors. the built are solid & durable & the locks are fantastic. Quality is always important. no point getting those cheap cheap ones which is like $190 & all gimmicky with + + + ends up getting a Cherry QQ then is flimsy & a pain everyday to use it. My parents are obsess with "SOLID" stuff for a gd reason. u knw tt feeling that u go smone's house for house warming & when u close their door in d bathroom & u tot u almost break it? that's a sign of bad quality

i knw this plc in bedok 3018 on ground floor that distributes factory lamps. my college used to buy from them for oil refinery projects. those bulb with a clear shade & metal cages are meant to be explosion proof.. thats HARDCORE STUFF !! Hardcore stuff dun come cheap either

Hi, im "asked" by my in-laws to change their HDB Main door lock, the exisiting 1 is a POSSE brand which is like ard 10yrs old! I had visited a hardware shop in AMK & got a YALE which is too short. then i when bk to exchange to another Yale 'Longer" model but still too short. & i had to force them for a refund which they where quite unhappy Now CNY is coming near & im screwed! my in-law is gg to blame me for no having a new lock for New year. i spoke to a hardware store ard Bedok 85 market & a old unkle say POSSE & LUCKY brand is the same, BUT LUCKY & POSSE is also Discontinued. Both Made in TAIWAN Now im looking for replacements & my in-laws doesn't want "MADE IN CHINA" ones. Any of you kind souls had this problem before??
