Hi Froggy, Welcome to the Fernvale neighbourhood. You may be moving to a smaller house but a nice new environment. Many developments are going on in this area. I can see many units going up concurrently and the Greenwich V project down by the Yeo Chu Kang Rd. Just yesterday it was announced that there will be sports hall to be built in Jalan Kayu. This area will soon be a bursting with life!

Hi Neighbour! Pretty much the same here. We really dono how the job for the ID and contractors will turn out. The quotes given does not really show how well the job will be done. In the end most likely I'll probably go for 1 that I feel most confidentin getting the job done within my budget. Sometimes I just feel like I do the designing and just let them follow my design

Yea I agree with JandG too. The kitchen is actually very small already. If add in more and more cabinets you will feel like you are cooking in a sumarine.

Actually HDB contractor not that bad nowadays. No defects found when I scan through my flat. So not definately that you will need to go through the retrification process.

Yep me too. Just got my keys in May before I went overseas. Havent renovate yet, just started going through the pain of selecting ID. I had same feelings when I first saw the kitchen. It was like “wao liao, this place can cook one meh?” Don’t seem to have any work space to prepare big sumptuous meals when having guests. The only relief I have is when I saw the kitchens in Hong Kong. Many are even smaller. Ok lah, maybe we just need to get used to it.

Nice idea of extending your kitchen. I'm guessing you must be quote a great chef! I have to say the kitchen layout for the fernvale vista flats are quite a small and odd shape. Giving me quite a headache to plan my kitchen layout. Haiz ....
