Where To Get Sliding Door For Kitchen With Top Track Only.
booksntoys replied to Chris Loup's topic in Home Furnishings
I'll be doing that for my kitchen entrance, using Nyatoh Frame with full glass design. U can check out Yong Fang at Beauty World & its website for the pics. They quoted me $3200 w/o GST for GSS period for 3.7m x 2.1m. I needed to do box-up at the top. I was quoted $150 for the supply & installation of plywood only. When I asked them to include price or quote price for plastering & painting, the lady said it's the work of contractor's, which is NOT true! Obviously she didn't wanna take our business. Also, I didn't like their service at all, took very long to reply my email and didn't return my call. I've managed to find another one which did it for 2 of my relatives. Price is much cheaper $2.8k to $3k complete with box-up, nyatoh door/frame with full glass design too. Person is so polite & nice to talk to. Waiting for HDB approval to demolish the wall b4 signing up with him. Other companies like Goodhill quoted me $3900 inc of GST. But they've no pics of projects done. So i'm not comfy with that. If u want normal top-hung veneer doors (not solid ones), any contractor shd have the lobang Price is much cheaper too. -

Bought Dyson from Courts at $600+. Fell in love with it. Very handy & practical & easy to use, esp for me who vacuums every 2 days. Bag-less, easy to dismount & attach back to throw the rubbish. I've used Rainbow b4. Dyson is much much better in terms of price & time-saving & everyday use cos for Rainbow, you still have to fill up & throw away the water every time u need to use it. -
I've been scouting ard different companies to look for the best deal on doors. Have spoken to salespersons from Yontat, Sentat, Goodhill, Yong Fang, Doctor Doors, and a couple of others. So far, the best salespersons (patient, friendly & customer-oriented) are from Yontat (Justin), Goodhill (Eileen) & Sentat (Steven - Tampines). Justin clarified all my doubts 'bt getting the right bedroom doors & reasons for their (cheaper) prices. Eileen was very on-the-ball regarding quotes and called me several times when she did not receive my emails. Steven was friendly, detailed in explanation & honest. As for Yong Fang & Doctor Doors, they were either impatient or not hungry for business. Price wise, Yontat's veneer doors are the most competitive. It's hollow veneer doors are made from plywood with honeycomb fillers, comes with Yale lock & lever handles. Good enough for buffering sound for the bedrooms, as compared to classic / moulded doors.

I'm thinking of using 3M Prestige film for my kitchen windows cos of west sun. Is it really effective in blocking the sun ray & cooling the room? Advertisement stated that with the film, there's no need for curtains or blinds. Is it true? Does anyone have any experience with it?

Just went to Yong Fang this morning. Learnt that Yontat gets their solid sliding door from Yong Fang, hence the big difference in price. However, it is still cheaper to get bedroom (veneer) doors from Yontat. Even the saleslady from Yong Fang told us to get the bedroom doors from Yontat - cheaper & more variety. Yong Fang's solid veneer door with round knob (not Yale) is $280 inc GST for this GSS period. Semi-solid veneer door is $240.

We went to Yontat in May and was told that their sold veneer is now $260 w/o GST. Most of the admin ladies were clueless to the questions we asked. The lady boss was black-faced & impatient too. After the visit to their shop, I called them several times to clarify more things. Again, one admin gal could not answer me, except for the impatient & angry lady boss. Another time, an admin gal took down my number & never return call. The last time I called, an admin gal was super impatient with my questions. It was not pleasant dealing with them. Then I read 'bt how friendly & helpful Justin- the younger boss, is. So I emailed him all my questions re doors. He replied, asking me to call him. I did, and he patiently clarified all my doubts & answered all my questions. I'm very satisfied now. We will surely get our doors from them cos I know what type of doors I'm getting, value for money or not (as compared to other companies) and whether or not the doors will buffer sound.

Did anyone try Adamas at unit 199 Jln Bersah? Someone mentioned in this forum that its prices are competitive. I saw a mirror cabinet (600x600x130) on its site that i fancied, emailed for price & reply was prompt - $185. Ikea's mirror cabinet is btw $100 (low end) to $299 (high end)

Where Can I Find Such Kitchen Racks Besides Sim Siang Choon?
booksntoys replied to Reno145's topic in Kitchen & Bathroom
Thks so much for the info. I think he referred to the stainless steel rack (wire basket), but size is of one-door width So u think it's cheaper to just install stainless steel pull-out racks/baskets, than to make all pull-out drawers? -
Where Can I Find Such Kitchen Racks Besides Sim Siang Choon?

My contractor told me that one rack is ard $80. Is it true? I'm still thinking if I shd install pull-out drawers for my entire lower cabinets (which my contractor said is very ex) or do normal doors but install pull out racks/baskets instead? Which is more practical & economical? Please advise. -

Bed & Bedding Centre's ad: King Koil Firm Spinal Guard Queen c/w Designer Leather Bedframe = $649 nett. Isn't it quite cheap?? I haven't been there so I'm not sure if the price is for real

I bought a wardrobe from them 10 years ago (it's the factory mass production type) Not very fantastic, not very solid, hinges came off after a few years. But it's still usable and it has been adopted by relative after we moved house. Bought a typist chair from V.hive @ Simei recently. It costs $69. So far so good.

I've been using King Koil firm mattresses for the past 20+ years...no complains. Has anyone bought from Bed & Bedding Centre? I've been noticing their ads every Sat in ST. Prices are quite attractive. I'm looking for King bed frame + firm mattress (King Koil, Dunlopillo) for less than 1.5K. Any places with such price?

the house (rental) that i'm staying right now has the distance of 60cm btw hob & hood. I'm so comfy with it that i'm even thinking of using the same distance for my new house. With the lower hood, there's more storage space above. And it's easier to reach for the items stored above. (btw, i'm 1.68m) But for my previous house, it was definitely higher than 60cm. I'm confused now too - stick to 60cm or more?
