  1. Hi WonderPig, The decals are purchased from Decorette wall decals. www.decorettestore.com You can choose to collect them at sixth avenue along bukit timah road.
  2. I remembered that Ikea Kitchen is cheaper than some contractors, however i wouldn't comment on it's quality though. I don't own a Ikea kitchen but the furniture (i.e Expedit) shown signs of wear after a few months. Check with forumer "Ossify", not sure if he is still active. He uses bulk of Ikea furnitures. Cheap may not be good. Remembered someone saying, "if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys, even some monkeys are asking for macadamia nuts" Goodluck
  3. Hello Monkey3333sg, Sorry if this comes late; Welcome to renotalk, good tat your contractor itemise the each works; Got a couple of question before I begin; Do you foresee doing plenty of deep-frying or heavy cooking in kitchen? Else since you have plaster smooth the kitchen walls, tiles are not necesssary just get a better paint; i.e wash and wear 2.5 Homo/ceramic wall tile for kitchen wall 1600.00 Do you foresee your family doing those 'splash & scrub' washing in your kitchen? my grandma use to do that, but when I am in my own home, I would at the most mop my kitchen area; -if you are like me, you can save the base thingy- also restricts the size of future washing machine/ fridge. 2.8 Fridge base and cabinet base with tiles 380.00 2.9 Washing machine base with tiles 100.00 Are you given arcylic solid surface? I was quoted $70 per foot run (market about $70-$75), hence for your 250cm, should costs about $540-$571.5 2.13 Solid surface top 2500mm 595.00 2.15 Counter c/w Solid surface top (2000x600x850) 1560.00 So you have 2 kitchen cabinets to explain the 2 solid tops? just a few pointers. Hope this helps.
  4. sorry if this comes late, just sharing an article i found during my reno back then http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=31653&view=findpost&p=606075 read post #423
  5. Yup, m100ky's address is correct. I was earlier eyeing on Baron's W.C, however AOS have some package deals and got the Magnum 6002 instead. The W.C function as expected, even the half-flush is effective for 'big business'. one thing i learnt from the forum that You shouldn't pick those little ticks for W.C. The slow-closing feature for the toilet seat has failed already though, almost coming to 2yrs of use. Have previously shared about Magnum water heater. Fantastic. takes some 5-10mins to heat up the 30L heater. I believe i have previously reviewed AOS. One lasting impression is their customer service. I've previously ordered a A.O Smith cylindrical heater, turn out it couldn't fit my bathroom, I had them brought back the heater and so I downsize to a 15Litre. After some consultation, i changed my mind and they recommended me to this current squarish Magnum heater. On a similar note, i had the mirror cabinet changed as well due to some blemishes. No questions asked. Quite a fussy customer am I? any more questions? ;P
  6. Hello bettyhong77, No need to be apologetic. On the contary pardon me for the late reply as I don't visit this forum like last time. PM me should anyone have any quiries, as it will trigger to my email. I can't compare apple to apple with Ariston as this is my 1st and only storage heater I ever own and use now. Nevertheless, I read reviews that Ariston from one of the thread that the heat retention is not good. I've shared that I ever powered up my heater and the water is still hot the following day. I purchased all my bath stuffs from AOS building materials, good customer service I must say. Look for Mr Sunny. Goodluck.
  7. hi Shadoface, My main contractor is Edmund Goh from A-Decor. Have PM the contact. The study table that you have quoted in the picture is not done by him, but from Closetrobe cheers

  10. Sorry for the late welcome to renotalk fellow tpy-ian; You should be able to find everything you need here. We almost picked a corner unit at the ground storey at blk 2. Ya, and the hawker has completed her renovation, a couple of food stalls are just a stone throw away from you home bedok minced meat noodles, hokkien mee facing the road side and my recently new found love; "B for beancurd" stall. Drop neubie or me a msg if you need help; he's a reno-guru. In regards to Aircon, Yes, the sales person is right; R22 will likely to phase out around 2016. I am currently using Daikin Non-inverter, a R22 neverthless (usage is low prob once a week; weather dependent) and my monthly electrical bill hovers around $68. hope this helps.
  11. I repiped my pipings to run at the top as well; it looks a lot neater Check post #123 Hope this helps.
  12. The extendable study table costs $300 per feet, so it bills up to be $1350. It is actually a modular system of which Closetrobe customise it to fit our function; we wanted a this study-table at the same time, a storage space in the utility room. So they created an empty partition for my storage, the modular unit (meant to be inside) was taken out to be the study-table. I hope my explanation is clear. Hence package includes false partiton for the sliding door+ study-table. Call Esther to fit your requirements. Overall, we are pleased with her services
  13. hi ncs1999, well, the downlights (located at the bedrest) for my mbr is for double-up as "bedside lamp". Frankly, the 2 3W-LED downlight is not enough if you wanna to illumate the whole bedroom. As my earlier blog suggest, the LED downlight gives a narrow beam lighting (picture spotlight w/o heat) should you want to floodlights, go for the PLC downlights instead. My bedroom fanlight is one Pair of 12W PLC E27 GE (said to give 700 lumens) bulb. You wanna check the bulb holder that you are getting and you can mix & match accordingly. For the Alpha V6 fan, it uses E27 bulbs, my living room uses a pair of 5W while bedroom a pair of 12W. Hope I have answered your questions. Speaking of which I have 4 x 40W E27 incandescent bulb to give away, PM me if you are interested
  14. thanks for the advice bro, Refund not possible. Have already passed the 100 days policy. (not like I can salvage by gluing it back)
  15. during our stay, we got ourselves a study-table in the utility-room. We wanted something that could fit our books and accomodate laptop/ printer stuffs as well as a studying area. Eventually Esther from Closetrobe provided us a solution; The extended study area. The extended study table was retracted back. At the same time, the budget fitted a sliding door that we could use as a storage-room
  16. After moving in for more than some 6 months, it's time for some review; Some DON'Ts Given a chance again, these are the things that I would probably avoid purchasing or using. (One thing I didn't expect is that we.. or rather my wifey ends up cooking delightful & delicious meals often, would I have know of my wife's love for culinary, we would have spent a bit more $$ on kitchen stuffs); a) Kitchen top We decided to save money at the point of renovation; so we opt for Arcylic solid top over granite top. It did it's basic job. However we ended with many scratches and blurred surfaces when we careless let hot pots be placed on the solid top surface. We ended up getting loads of cork-coasters from ikea. Might have pumped in more money and invested in CaesarStone, though it might have costs 3 times, but it is said to be bombproof. b) Dampers/ slow-close Our contractor provided "Excel" & "Irex" dampers. I can only say it is damm- disappointing. Despite having replaced the Irex dampers, it broke again. Do yourself a favour and pay for a better quality piece. Any Blum-user care to comment? Irex damper for our dishrack lid. c) Ikea furnitures Need I say more? Even forumer Neubie previously posted his 2-cents. Here's mine: Expedit Top The sides of the expedit split open after 3 months. Nevertheless, the manstand sofa bed is still serving us well. d) Pots & Pans WMF certainly look & feel good, however the handle sucks big time. The handle can't be grasp when it's hot. It should be insulated. Paying big money doesn't justify. Go for the Cutlery stuffs instead.
  17. Nice and spacious WIW, remember to allocate a plug for a fan. It can get really stuffy inside
  18. Hey Edward, great to see you at renotalk again. I have recently bought a similar bladeless fan like Dyson (read replica made in China) and boy was it noisy. Rated 35W but less windy than my convection fan of 30W.
  19. hi Navik, I didn't engage the merchants you have seek; however I didn't some enquiry from them for my WIW pole-systems & TV-console as well. Eventually I engaged Esther from Closrtrobe ('a sister-company' of closetdesign). I've thus engaged them again for my study-table. You can check out my thread here under post #253 http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=31653&view=findpost&p=597636 Hope this helps.
  20. Have Pm you previous. all the best.
  21. sorry my bad, I forgotten all about this conversation. Think the wedding prep and honeymoon prep blew me away. The day before the honeymoon, i was still in 'tripadvisor' booking accomodations. and in Kyoto (japan) during the honeymoon, we had spent one gd day rebooking cos of toyko aftershock. LoL. But God is faithfull. It's still with me, you may collect it anytime, but do give me a buzz an hour before to check that I'm at home ya? my flight's schedule to depart on day of quake, it was cancelled. SIA called subsequently offering alternative flight. we took, we flew. yup, yup. Japan, very nice place. it's really rich in it's culture. The disasters also demostrate the resilience of its ppl. respect.
  22. So didn you still manage to have a connecting door to master rm? We have a little tiny bi-fold that serves us well This shower screen is brilliant. wow, large btu to cool trhe whole hall/ kitchen. curious to know what makes you choose panasonic? All is looking well thus far May i ask for your electrician's contact please? can pm me? thanks thanks.
  23. Just some 2-cents worth; Have you considered that your dvd-players/ speakers etc can fit into the width of the Expedit? I would probably get a proper tv-console (I'm quite anal about concealing wires and stuffs, then again, that's me) observation; >Kitchen lights, noticed that you have 1 light to share to illumate your L-shape work-top area. Having the additional led is briliant (do note that a LEDs ain'tn gonna come cheap though) >Dinning lights should you be fixing your dinning table for good; a pendant light would be good, Coves tends to gives a 'softer' feel in terms of lighting. >noted that you have quite a number of coves (dinning, HTS area, MBR) have you considered switching one to downlights? I have a cove of 6 x T5; 2x T5: one switch & 4 x T5 one switch (which I rarely use actually) do note that you would be requiring 8 T5s of 144Ws for your cove layout personally, I have only one 5 LED light on my bathroom vainty to light up my bathroom, personally I find it is sufficient.
  24. Hi Lee, Another late welcome here Allow me to share my counter-top experience; I wanted a galaxy black top but didn't managed to, neverthless, an alternative black-coloured coutertop. I've got a acrylic solidtop for my counter-top (about $72pfr), given a chance I would have spent more for a better quality counter-top. Having own a black counter-top, may i share that scratch marks are very evident, burnt mark (from hot pots) would leave a dull surface aftermath as well. Ants are difficult to spot unless they start running >)
  25. Ohaiyo marshmallow We went Japan for our honeymoon (Yes despite of earthquake) so it was you! It was so close in selling to my friend. You still want?
