Should be selling at the retailing price, unless there's a sale (20% off) You might wanna consider buying from renoguru, it will be a steal if it's bnib.

Cannonsiao, are you able to share how much are the assembly charges? based on per item?

Hello Peeks, Just realised that it has been awhile since the blog has been update; 28/10/10 (day 16) Tilings completed (mosaic, skirting), common corridor window replaced with WPC sliding+ tophung. Added a kerb to the my main door extension of 2 inches(w) by 1.5 inch (h) to the corridor to allow my wought iron to secure to the ground. Have also raised additional 1.5 inch (h) kerb before the door closure; After Before Originally the main hall was levelled to the man door followed by a 3" drop to the common corridor. (some other apartments have steps up to their door; not mine) This allows the wrought to be secured to the extension, instead of having to secure to the corridor level, thus minimises contact with water when HDB does their cleaning/ raining. The rasied kerb also prevents water from getting into my place, thus avoiding damaging my laminates in the future. Plastering also started.

Still the same CNS102 black, The $188 are of hollow quality. I've decided to get the $250 piece with additional $50 - galvanised (total $300). with 5 yrs warranty, still it's cheaper than most grill shops. Will be retaining the lockset at this time

Noted there's like about 2 or 3 tiles that were affected, could be chipped suring transported process or during installation I guess. But after noting I still have 3 bags tiles unused (spares), I called Contractor to notify him my concerns. He says he would made a trip down the following day to inspect. Yes, would cost an additional of $50 bucks. Have you decided on your gate Edward?

Very nice bathrooms you have edward. Looks like those Condos-standards.

Where To Buy 2-in-1 Coffee Cum Dining Table In Singapore?
dexufto replied to e46's topic in Home Furnishings
This thread has been previously discuss here This is the 'Flexy-J' which I previously mentioned. Goodluck with your hunt. -
There was several defects noted on the windows including broken handle for top hung, minor chip and sticky adhesive on the panes and loose locking mechanism. Figured too much of hassle to retify all these defects.. When I mean level, I also refer to the same foundation as my hall, previously there was a notable 50mm drop into the bedrooms. Bubble spirits? I saw the subcon using the water hose to mark the horizon of the water level. i suppose you are refering to that?
-
Bedrooms are levelled equal with Hall. Doorframes delivered. Replacement for common-corridor windows are originally scheduled on 23/10/10- delayed. Decided to add my MBR's casement window to the list when i realised the handles are broken and screens pretty bad. Previous tenants didn't borther to maintain and take care.

day 10 (22/10/10) -Tilings, leveling, Tiling in progress (W.C 80%, Shower 80%, Kitchen 80%) Wall tiles for WC & Shower are almost completed less floor tiles and mosaic. Kitchen are left with skitings. A closer inspection in the shower room shows that there's a 2mm- 5mm chipped on tiles; do you guys change these? Basin drainage in showerarea is missing! quickly notified my main-contractor. Do note that your subcons whom does your mansory (plastering, wetworks) require to allocate drainage for your kitchen sink, washing machine, shower basin. Make sure there's floor-traps catered for kitchen and shower areas. Do KIV the drainage point for your a/c as well Looks off, would get it changed to the metal ones.

OIC, does that means they would have to make 2 tips; e.g reconfigure the piping, then linking to the the hob?

Just found a webby supporting the claims of the LED wattage: It says each LED consumes 0.08W, hence continue with the comparision; a reel of LED of 5M or 16.4 Feet has 300 LEDs, hence 4 feet gives about 76 LEDs, consumes 6.1W. That is awesome, in contrasts to a T5 of 28W. Ok, I'm converting/ ;p Isn't Lumens the gold standard for light brightness? For the LED strip, it mentioned each LED emits 4-5 Lumen. Neubie has a point in terms of converter efficiency.. still generally LED consumes less, (somehow this reminds me of inverter vs non inverter a/c) btw manutd1972, how much do you pay for the LEDs. I'm considering getting either here or overseas. I would prob need 7.2m in length which translate to 36W. Hence would need a 230V/ 50hz, 4Amp 48 W transformer. TIA ps: Sorry Dr.Anarchy for the O.T

This idea did cross my mind before; as to replace the T5 with LEDs instead; I had a short discussion with one of the Besttech Lighting shop at IMM before; True, LED is low on wattage, however if you put a 4 Feet T5 (phillip) of 28 Watts against a 4 feet of LEDs (assuming 1 LED consumes 1 Watt, and over a span of 4 Feet, there's 40 LED) so theorically you are operating 40 Watt for the LEDs. So at the end of the day it may not justify the cost savings afterall.. Is there any LED user to share? Do correct me if I'm wrong

Yea, it does take some effort to take pictures and blog about the progress and once a while, QnA from inquisitive. I'm perfectly fine with that (as long as my time allows me to). We were all once ignorant and uncertain of the marketprices/ quotes of these renovation industry.. So, just hopen that this will serve as a guide for new home owners. Nice to hear that your place is progressing well. *thumbs up* Electrical ups already? that's fast. I've given my contractor 2 months for the renovation process, guess that he must have really span it. No hurry to move in anyway. Have you decided on the lighting/ electrical point or do you plan to leave it to your contractor? No worries about the laminates, 150m2 is pretty small? for ONE bedroom I suppose? Regarding the Wrought iron: it is $650 for 2 window grills AND one main gate. yes, the rust eposide; anyway, any metal not treated/ painted will be subjected by natural's wrath.. CNS Simon has offered it to be galvanised and treated, said to be more lasting and hence throwing in 5 years warranty.. well, time will tell. Ok, roger that, I'm impressed by your ability to diy. Will revert to you in due time.

HiHi, Don't worry Gimz, I haven't forgotten about you (i've ask my contractor to safekeep liaoz) Haven't remove the grills yet, said to be on Fri (but I'm tied-up), you seriously want the gate also? I was thinking if so, I can leave the grills at the utility room till the gates are down then you can just save a trip down.. ONE GRILL down, One last Retro Grill for lelong, Anyone btw, what DIY project do you have up your sleeve? Saw the tyres you salvage for your coffee-table? Will take note of the laminates work. Thankz!

I can't guarantee you it is the lowest now, but previously I found Bedz store (under the umbrella of Star Furniture) pretty well-priced. Until the King Koil (warehouse) annual sale came along.

Recommendation For Inverter Aircon Units
dexufto replied to demonlicious's topic in Electronics & Electricals
Look for A/C with Higher COP values. Take a look at the discussion thread, least you will understand what you are buying. A/C is an investment and contributes to the bulk of your monthly bill, so don't just purchase this/ that unit on the 'cheap' superficial value. Cheers -
Rubbish Chute replaced. Kitchen Floor evened, Cabinet base+ Backing up. Have just confirmed my wrought iron grill/gate with CNS. Despite of some bad critics, I went ahead anyway. Somehow cost is a factor here; Met up with Simon as referred by baby81984 an gim63251073. Requested him to be thorough with the paint job to avoid the rust episode. Simon explained that the wrought irons sold previously wasn't galvanised treated (+$50), with that in mind he dare to offer warranty of 5 years. We took up the offer needless to say. Total damage: $650 for CNS 102black Non-hollow, Glavanised gate+ CNS102 Black Grills.

day 8 (20/10/10) Mansory continued My tiles selections My contractor offered a price range of bet $2.8- $3.4 for my tiles selection, Applied Lachesis words of wisdom in from tiles selection; Tip1: Tiles should speak to you Tip2: Harmony in tiles Tip3: Less is More Which is all very true, Thanks Lachesis. We ended up with: For Showers/ W.C Floor/Wall tiles Kitchen Floor tiles Tiling in progress (W.C 50%, Shower 0%, Kitchen 0%)

Update: Manage to salvage the 50mm situation, had a conversation with Contractor, he shares my view that it is not necessary and would look better (more sleek) w/o it. He will refund me the money at the end of the day He recommended me to level my bedrooms floor though, and offered me his contractor price.. hmm. Haha, he probably thinks that ppl are still flooding the floors 30 years down the road. Thanks manutd1972. Glory to HIM. I'm sure that Big Guy up there is listening Before I forget, welcome to Renotal, do you intend to have a T-Blog? let me know I can add you to the 3-roomers list. Do update us after your viewing today. Everything shall be alrite. oh should you require of Pregro laminates, PM me know cos I was offered an attractive price. All the best.

Hi bro, Need to check with you regarding the Opennet installation. Was that day suppose to be the actual day of installation for your block? I've checked with them and they explain that my area is only due bet Dec'10- Feb'11? Hi Steelze Regarding the glass sliding door; IMHO; $2k is a pretty good price for this length of sliding glass (it's full length from one end to another? should be 2.8m?) I was previously quoted ~$1.8k for 2.1m from Besglas, eventually I got mine from my contractor at a fraction of the price.

Seems like these 2 brands are quite sought after; IMHO Mitsubishi electri for its ease to clean and Daikin for it's energy efficiency. I have a thread on my non-inverter Daikin selection here
-
Well said guys! Let this be a lesson for all people, I didn't dwell much on the additional 50mm rise, probably dismissed as some SOP for kitchen items. Moreover, it restricts your future household equipment (fridge/ washingmachine), having to limit its size to that of your previous equipment should it needs replacement. Might have save some money in the process as well. Anyway, back to the orignial topic: isn't kitchen a wet-area? then why extension is prohibited?

We were deciding between frosted or reflective (mirrored) films as well. Decided on the reflective films (DIY) eventually as I still wanna see what's going on outside. Have you decided on blinds for the windows? Rooster-brand! Quality stuffs! My colleague swears by it's rust-free material. Must have cost quite a bit.
