hi...sorry for hikjacking this thread...generally what is the labour cost for retiling....excluding hacking n cost of material... Was told that after hacking...got to smooth out the bumps etc...my contractor quote me $8.6 psf while my tiles cost $3 psf...seems excessive to me...pls advise...appreciated.

hi, got a quote from my contractor regarding laying of floor n wall tiles in my toilets....what is a reasonable cost for labour to install floor n wall tiles after hacking of existing floor n wall tiles? My contractor mentioned that the floor n walls need to be prepared....which i believe is to make it nice n smooth first b4 laying of tiles....was quoted $3400+ in total for wall which he estimated to be of 350 sqft n the tiles i choose was only $3 psf...meaning that the labour cost is abt $2400 or at least $6.5 psf?...for wall...estimated area is 128 sqft for floor n quoted $820 (incl of tiles @ $3 psf) so labour for floor is $435... is this excessive? pls advise...
