If you ask me, nothing! But my mum will say it's bad luck or some other superstitious thingy to turn me off. Because a lot of Chinese are pan-tang, they won't buy during the month. Hence, demand is lower overall and developer sales are poorer. A few might give discounts to have some business reflected for the month. Sentiment breeds sentiment and prices are generally lower. -

That is why I won't look for an agent if I can help it. 3% commission for a $400K HDB = $12K. What kind of work has the agent done to deserve so much money for a single transaction? -
Getting keys next week.. Not much luck with IDs so far. Met another two on Sat, and both promised to come back with 2D drawings and quotations in a couple of week's time. Hope they don't fly aeroplane like the others.

Actually can wait a few months. Prices heading south slowly. If not Pan-tang, buy during ghost month. -
Whats your budget? If high, city is best. Otherwise, can consider condos along the up and coming Downtown Line (ready in 2015). Price differs greatly from Bukit Panjang all the way to Newton. Three notable condo belts at Hillview (cheapest), Bukit Timah (expensive), and Newton (more expensive). Once MRT is ready, can expect 10% to 50% increase in prices.

If you have time to open your place for viewing, just pay $50 and advertise on Sat in the papers. May want to consider advertising with a pre-paid phone num since you might be getting lots of calls weeks or even months after. Agents will call and you can give 0.5% to 1% comm if they get you a buyer. If buyer calls, you save on comm. You need a lawyer anyway, so get him/her to draft the OTP once you land a willing buyer. -

So far, we met: 1) * 2) Ideal Design Interior 3) Design Worx All 3 were disappointing. 1st two promised us quotations, but never delivered. The 3rd is super expensive. -

Your agent has closed the deal, so probably see it as a waste of his time to arrange and bring you to inspect the place before the completion. You should insist on inspecting earlier if you are worried. However, please be aware that the seller may still damage or take away furniture even after your inspection before handover.

I bought a new condo and am thinking of overlaying the balcony tiles with timber look-a-like tiles. Don't know if it is a good idea. Any comments? -

Why get an agent? Like a property, offer, agree and go straight to the lawyer. Save the seller and yourself a total of 1-3% commission.

No time is the best time. I got mine in Feb at a high price. Now price is even higher. Prices will drop..Just a matter of when and how fast. Some say wait for elections..for many believe PAP won't do well, and prices would surely come down. -
I'm quite sure you need to only keep half of minimum sum in ordinary and special account for 2nd property.
