Carpentry works starts today.... view of the kitchen with sliding glass door closed from my living room. half done kictehn cabinets, finding this cabinets too little and small for my long kitchen. view of the sliding glass door from my kitchen. box up of the sewage pipe which is wrong as there is no doors for me to open up. Told Alan about the mistakes and they got to re-do it. Noticed the citygas heater just next to it? Just found out that there should be clearance on top the heater as the top is the exhaust and will be hot, thus the bend pipes on top cannot be box up by cabinets as it will be damaged by heat over time.

yup as u can see from the picture above, there are 2 pipes running into the wall on the left hand side. I made a mistake here by choosing the basin and not the shower on this wall, thus there are 2 ugly pipes running into the wall above the basin. I will be asking my contractor to cover up the pipes using a similar wall tile and can double up as a bench to place my toiletries.

trunking of my aircon up today.... Amazingly it was done in less than 2 hrs by 3 guys, maybe my trunking run distance is shorter than normal.... WIW trunking MBR trunking. I am now concern about this as the space between the trunking and the ceiling is just about 31cm and i am supposed to fit my panasonic aircon which is 29cm high. But the installer said no problem, so i LL because i initiated this trunking manner as i tot the trunking will actually run through the blower inside itself. Didn't expect the trunking to run below the blower. Guestroom aircon trunking My kitchen floor tiles revealed, still very dirty though... All my toilet goodies on hand now...

I did a test earlier today and step into the bathroom. The slope really felt funny as i could feel with my bare feet. Told the worker to dig up the tiles and relay them as i don't wanna feel giddy walking on these tiles.... The sad thing is that my mbr toilet only has one drainage point which is in the shower. Hopefully water can still move into the shower area when i wash the toilet.

my MBR floor tiles are up, however i thought the gradient for flooring is a bit too much. Don't know if it will feel uncomfortable stepping on them.... any comments?

window glass panels replaced with the correct green ones already... wires hanging all over the place now... door bell wires outside my main gate.

ok time for some updates again. MBR toilet tiles common toilet tiles, sadly the floor tiles didn't turn out to be as matching to the wall tiles as i thought it would be. (before) drainage pipe running from right wall to the left wall where the drain hole is... (after) washing machine base (depth not enough for my washing machine, i think my contractor got to do some hacking and extension outwards) Drainage pipe nicely concealed but still has a pipe sticking out from the floor. It's for clearing chock in the drainage line in case there is any in future.

Hi rainforest, Universal union is at geylang lor 44. Where did u see it for 399 each? Not a bad price...
-
That is right. If your pipes are running in the toilet, do buy this L shape elbow fitting (2 pieces for hot and cold inlet). Something like $20 for a pair.
-
Yah exactly what we were thinking of, in a way it will beautify the sink area also...

The workers mixing the cement for the kitchen floor tiling works. One row of my grey kitchen floors tiles being layed, so far so good...

ok time for some updates again....just pop by early in the morning and found 2 chinese workers laying my kitchen tiles. In the past one week the same guys have also done up my MBR bathroom expansion.... Here are the pics. Outside view of my expanded MBR toilet. The windows are also up, however the sub-contractor (not under Fresh Look) made a mistake in the colour panels. It should have been green and not black, lucky they will be replacing the glass another day. OLD NEW!!! The inside view of MR toilet. Noticed my ugly case iron pipes have been replaced by the PVC ones. And the extra ugly looking vent pipes are also gone. The workers will then use this blue colour foam to level up the toilet bowl area floor to same height as my entrance.

u should get those mixer meant for exposed piping. Plus if u are refering to pipes running outside your toilet wall, you should have a L bracket so that the mixer sits outside and the pipes behind the bracket.
-
What u listed can be costly, let me give u a rough estimate in brackets. 1. Will need to hack the whole wall and toilet floor ($300) 2. Replace WC, wash basin, mixer ($600) 3. Install tempered glass shower screen with swing door + glass door for toilet entrance too ($800) 4. Full length mirror + custom made storage below the basin + lightings ($600) 5. Rain shower set + storage heater ($800) 6. Rewiring of electricity ($100) I guess u forgot about tiling works which is probably $2000. Some items i didn't do for my house so i just guess only. Hope this helps.

yup not putting in oven, in fact we are removing that full height cabinet.....anyway my wife and i decided not to have that low wall....dun think there is much disadvantage there not having it....
-
its a 4ng flat, u can check out my t-blog in my signature to check out my reno progress Thanks for your compliments btw

but i would not be tiling my walls, any issues on that?

Hi all my contractor will be starting work on my kitchen soon and according to his plans, he did not build a low wall for my L-shape kitchen where the sink will be. Behind the sink will be a service yard area where my washing machine and dryer will be at. Please advise if it is necessary to have that hollow block wall or is it just a nice to have? I asked him about the wall and he wants to charge me additional $280 for it. You may refer to my 3D drawing for better understanding...

Hi guys just wanna check with you all whom have changed your toilet pipes from the old cast iron to the pvc ones. I had this ugly vent pipe that is running horizontally across my MBR toilet floor (below the basin in picture) and i intend to make the right corner of the toilet a shower area. Had asked the plumber if it is ok to remove and he gave the green light however warning me that the toilet may smell because there is no place for the smell to vent out to. Can anyone who have done this experience foul smell in their toilets?

Don't worry, it's definately plastic...

got a question to check with u guys regarding shower screen size. Do u all think a 720mm by 1200mm shower area is too tight??? Hope u guys can share your shower area size? I really got space constraint because of a stupid pipe that is between my shower area and toilet bowl...
