  1. Seeing is believing. Hope this helps. Bought 2pcs for my kids toilet. Will post more pix in my tblog. As for cleaning, will rely on old toothbrush and Jif to do the job. A circular has been sent to every member of the family urging them to pick up every strand of hair or tooth paste drop onto the basin. Will also have a "Be Considerate : Keep our basins clean" Campaign poster on the vanity mirror. Hope I have covered all grounds. Will keep you posted once we start using/cleaning it.
  2. For the love of wall hung toilet bowls, am crossing my fingers and praying very hard. Long live the Germans.
  3. I was told that the plumber just have to remove the flashing plate and he could access the cistern to repair the WC. For a sanitarically challenged person like me, i just cant imagine how repair can be done through the small rectangular hole. These plumbers must have special gymnastically trained arm to reach in and do the repairs. Am banking on my german made cistern to last till our next reno cos had a feeling the repairs will cost an (ungymnastical) arm.
  4. Find your mouth piece for your triangle first lah... Will still let you jam with us if you can blow twinkle twinkle little star on your triangle. XIE XIE. Wondered how potty can get so expensive. Did contemplate just digging a hole in the garden, very Au Naturel and economical but the smell would be phenomenal. Wouldnt want to be a stinky neighbour.
  5. Hi Livinstyle, Here's the details of my Toto toilet bowls. Geberit concealed cistern dual flush, artline actuator and Swissfix bracket @$350 bought from Econflo Systems at beach road during their sale. Toto wall hung toilet bowls bought from Adamas Bathroom at Jln Besar. Kids bathroom - Toto CW822J (tornado flush) with soft closing cover @ $350 Master bathroom and powder room - Toto CW800J w soft closing cover @ $410 each We actually bought a different actuator/flushing plate (Sambal) for the master and powder room. The Sambal actuator is bigger and required a bigger box to be mounted on the wall. However due to some miscommunication, the plumber mounted the standard size actuator box. We had no choice but to change Sambal to Artline. Luckily, kind Lily from Home and Bathroom allowed us to change although we did not buy from there. We did our research at the main Toto showroom at Bukit Timah road first then went round to compare prices (very tiring to go to all the shops to get the lowest price, sometimes just settle for a reasonable price if the service is good).
  6. Hi samgalz and pinktini, This is how the stage look like with doors, the inside of the stage is not ready yet, waiting for carpet and curtains. Will call you guys up for jamming session once it is ready. 4 panels of sliding wooden doors with rock wool insert to reduce noise.
  7. We are not considering a concrete boundary wall at the moment cos there is a wind channel from the back to the front and we would like to enjoy the wind. Having fence is also less claustrophobic and makes the garden looks spacious. We are keeping the old green fence for now (goes with the zoo theme mah ) and will dress it up with trees and plants. Might change it to something else in the future, we'll see....
  8. Due to the overwhelming demand, we have specially created a "meet-the-monkeys" session at the back of the house. The stage is set, the pots will be filled with bananas, the moat with water, the green glass doors open and out swing the monkeys with drums, guitars, keyboards and violin. Photography session follows after show time and feeding time. One day open house ONLY so stay tune to the completion of the Zoo.
  9. More green glass windows view from outside of the house. The 6 panel windows is where the stairwell is and the 2 panel windows is where the family room is. View of living room from the side garden
  10. The green green glass of home We chose green tinted glass doors and windows to complement and reflect the greenery in the garden Green tinted glass with black frame windows Glass doors at main entrance
  11. Men stumble over pebbles, never over mountains. -- Marilyn French The pebble washed car porch is finally done. However ID thinks its not dark enough. She suggested to give it a coat of black glossy epoxy paint. Not sure how it will turn out. Will it be slippery? Difficult to maintain? Can the pebble wash effect still be seen with black glossy paint?
  12. Hi sam, went to creative living at Harbour Front today. Rubbermaid cutlery tray selling at $5. However did not see the 2 tier design you were eyeing. They are having National Day Sale till end of the week. Some rubbermaid containers on sale too. The Joseph Joseph cutting board that pinktini has is also on sale.
  13. The bottom of the sink is an add-on drainer, i was told. However, better to check cos the foreign talent who served me spoke accented English which was too difficult for me to understand and my market mandarin was not "powderful" enough to discuss the intricacies of sinks. I bought the other one with unequal bowl size after much deliberation, practicality won over aesthetics this time (the rounded inner edge is another plus). The equal bowl size you bought is really sleek. Good choice! Wow...Super Sleek! where did you find it?
  14. 46" was also stated at $2499 at the expo but can bargain I supposed. We told them Mega offering THP50V20S @ $2899 including delivery. Well, they could match that price. Try speaking to the supervisor. Btw sale ends on Monday, 9 Aug.
  15. Thanks for the tip, gals_mama. Will be right here waiting.
  16. Harvey Norman sale @ Expo Finally bought our TV for the living room. Panasonic TH-P50V20S, 50" plasma at the Expo Harvey Norman sale @ $2888 including delivery and wall mount installation. One more TV outstanding. We were looking at the Sony 32" LCD EX400 for our upstairs family room (already bought one for Dining area) but the staff @ HN refused to throw in a free wall mount bracket. So still waiting for a good deal since there is always a sale every weekend.
  17. If only walls can speak.... This feature wall at the staircase landing was painstakingly, skillfully and patiently done by one of the hardworking China workers over 2 days. It is cement made to look like bricks. He slowly carved out the rectangular shape one by one. ID was so impressed, she wants the rest of the feature brick walls to look like that. Windows at the staircase landing to let in light and air.
  18. leechaorui : Will definitely consider the elephant climbers, suits my zoo theme. joseeng : Dillenia suffructicosa is popular with bees i read...hmmm.. maybe not such a good idea in the bathroom, would not want to be swarmed by bees or stung at the wrong places..oucheeee patsy : me cant wait for completion too. Hopefully, by end of this month. Timbuktu sounds exotic..I'm on. samgalz : hi super sam, you bounced back real fast. My turn to feel under the weather. How's your housewarming? Me very shy, so need lots of dense foliage to hide from prying eyes. However, hubby is a closet exhibitionist, have advised him to bath when there is strong wind blowing and plants swaying....hehe. zelly : actually hubby dont mind the peek-a-boos, will install chick blinds if neighbours cannot take it anymore and complain. To everyone : An invitation to bathe outdoors, candles and bath salt provided, wines BYO.
  19. Adamas bathroom at 199/201 Jalan Besar. Bought 3 wall hung Toto toilet bowls from there. They dont have alot on display. Go to the main Toto showroom to take a look first and jot down the model no. Otherwise you can look through their catalog. Did not have a chance to compare the prices of Toto tap and sink though cos bought Hansgrohe from Home and Bathroom at balestier.
  20. You take care ok, super sam. Can help you to run errands. I am a professional errand runner cum driver. Just shout ok?
  21. Alfresco Bathing Like every tourist that has stayed in a villa in Bali or Phuket, our dream is to have an outdoor bathroom. Soaking in the tub under the starry night and showering in the rain just bring back good memories of the relaxing happy vacation times. This is our attempt to create the Au Naturel dream. View from the backyard looking up to the master bathroom on the right and master bedroom on the left. View from master bathroom looking out. See the tiny bathtub, metal trellis and neighbour's house? Will have plants between bathtub and metal trellis. Need suggestions on the kinds of plants to use. Need something dense. Want to be considerate, dont want to be responsible for the drop in value of neighbour's house if wind is too strong and we are exposed in our Au naturel state. Skylight with frosted glass above WC area. So plant experts out there, what kind of plants should i get?
  22. Psst... share a secret with you. I am tone deaf too. Attended 5 yrs of Yamaha Junior Music Class with 3 of my kids and still cant tell the difference between Do Mi So and Mi fa so. We actually need a manager. You are well traveled and connected so maybe can get us overseas gigs for a band with middle aged lead singer, under age keyboardist, amateur guitarist and drummer, tranglist who tings randomly, rusty erhu player and a tini recorder player. Sorry patsy, the King Koi sale was ended on Monday, 2 Aug. Will let you know if there are other bedding sale.
  23. Welcome to the band. We do have a slot cos we've just fired someone (no names mention, dont want to hurt his feelings lah) who can only play 1/3 of the recorder and cant find the mouthpiece of the triangle. Can you also do the Wonder Girls "Nobody" dance? Need tini pretty in pink backup dancers. Btw, my son has hijacked The Seven Ancient Wonders that i was reading. He loves the testerone charged, explosion packed, mind (or rather brain) blowing sequences. He said it was too violent for me, it should be rated NSFOFWFH (Not Suitable For Old Folks With Faint Heart). So he is going to read first and censor those parts that are not suitable for me. What a sweet boy!
