  1. I do agree, no matter how one work hard, but "unfortunately" some are luckier than the rest. Unfair things happen in everyone's life. It is at that point of time that a person is good or lousy at that time. Like theory of relativity. Eg I see my friend who is now 60 has grandchildren liao. I am happy for him which means he retired and no worries (children all graduated and earn money). But he see me at the other angle that i am better off than him (but i do not have grandchildren and still have young children / older parents to feed, am I better off than him ?)
  2. it means people like me (a by birth singaporean - who completed reservists, ran soc, ran ippt, etc) can rent out hdb easily liao.
  3. fourms i am not aware, but i think some of the members here are good (excluding me as i do not study fs)
  4. no lah .. me old man cannot use strength, only can use basic physics law and nature to unblock my views / obstructions.
  5. unfortunately money already paid ..don't think too much about it.
  6. I agree with you on science n law of nature. If something obstruct me, remove it (wing chun principle).
  7. If you have bought pixiu from the seller , didn't the seller advise you where to put ? (don't tell me seller con you ..how much you pay) Wow what happens this forum here all say put pixiu in toilet where water is wealth, you want to believe us ?
  8. interesting discussion - just want to add my opinions 1. Agents definitely can choose buyers who has deep pockets to buy, rather than realize that buyers are "tuo kang" and not end up buying - wasting everyone time 2. If both buyer and sellers knows the economics of the role played by agents - which is , the agent plays the bridge between buyer and seller. That equation part is the agent is providing additional added service so that buyer knows more information and seller no need to entertain so many people. Now imagine the industry without agent. How many buyers and sellers need to meet from maths calculations ? 3. Whether the agent play good service or not, it is individual agent themselves. But look at point 2 from economics view (not from service view), both side of customers will feel better. 4.Agents need to survive, therefore they are allow to choose who to work with. Similarly customers also need to survive, they want to pay less or free better. There will be a price equilibrium where both agreed on a commission on a satisfactory service. Please don't pay $1 to have customer services. Agents are human too and have family to feed as well. For me, although still looking for another pty, I rather make many agent friends. I always tell myself : NO agent should bow to me or should spent much time with me just because I am a "potential" buyer.
  9. wah bro bepgof, you become super platinum member ! What title is that ?
  10. My opinions are from consumer perspective. 1. Market always said China products no good, etc - but ask any businesses - the only way to reduce cost is made in china. Even ipads, ipods, gadgets are made in china (but design brain work is by americans), everyone buys right ? 2. I've switch to LED lights. Initial setup cost is high but look from another angle: a) singapore is a price taker for electricity (we import) therefore price per kilowatts we cannot control. But between LED or PLC we can control - therefore go for LED as it has savings. b) LED can be made brighter by getting good technologies ones on the same WATT. c) LED seldom breaks down. We all lead a hectic life and to spend time to change light bulbs - forget it for me ! Who is going to climb ladder at ceilings nowadays to fix this or that ? When you grow old, you have time or capability for this ? 3. Drivers - how often does drivers break down ? Do not worry too much on this. It is not that ALL drivers will break down at the same time !
  11. i know it is hard not to listen to fsm, but ask a simple question to them a) if the so-called external layout will CONFIRM AND DOUBLE CONFIRM AND GUARANTEED TO MAKE YOU A BILLIONAIRE, then you seek fsm advice. Ask questions like : what is the impact to your life or family, if you did not select a proper external area ? If impact is so small, why spend so much time on it ? BTW , millionnaire comes from hard-work, not fengshui.
  12. oh i see. with the directions, must put the right objects to activate ? But since apartment is fixed, directions don't change (from the North south east west - science), how does one know what object to put ? No wonder my previous FS told me that even if i renovate the whole house, directions do not change and he still ask me to put whatever object. But <sigh>, I am trying to move away from FS and use science as much as possible. But i do not deny any FS school of thoughts.
  13. Since the thread starter focus on housing needs, no point push them to think thru many scenarios. A question by thread starter : should buy now or not ? That is the whole thing she is thinking now. My simple answer : If you buy now, you are making a decision on whatever facts you can find in this free economy / newspapers in today's time. This is very transparent. Do not start thinking whether it is a right or wrong decision. Anyway are you worried people may judge you "stupid" to buy now or "clever" to buy now ? I bought my condo at Sars period - yes cheap. People say i very smart now. But i feel very stupid : should have bought more than one apartment right ? You see there are 2 sides of a coin. Make a decision and move on. Anyway when you have children, your children gain eventually (like it or not, you one day will pass properties to them) compare to us as parents.
  14. i would not say samsung is lousy, as tv are produce in bulk. Maybe the quality i had lasted me only that 3-4 years unfortunately. I prefer to say that samsung is better in that they have a roadmap - they know what to produce, they are profitable and can put in more research. The roadmap from a samsung technican was a) LED now (smart tv) - internet features all comes with it in all brands b) OLED (suppose to be better than LED) - all comes minimum 55 inch - maybe 2 years later. c) MLED - ha ..they told me it is mirror TV ..like gadget. You wake up brush teeth, mirror turns on, data and tv all inside. Just now went hair-cut and told salon boss to invest in these mirrors tv for customers !
  15. should be around 4900 + gifts
  16. Just an update : last sunday, I went to one of a small jewellery shops - they display 2nd hand rolex, with a large green buddha jade. I ask the price of large green buddha jade - he told me it is from Burmese (I gathered it is Type A) and he told me it is about $1000. I ask for the cert. He say he can go Nanyang (which is the ngi independent valuer) to get a cert for it. I told him to get the cert first, then i bargain with him on the price later. He kept quiet. Now, conclusion is See Cert First, at least you know what you are paying for. Never do the reverse !
  17. Recently my co apartment has the above issue. Do i need to get ANY party electrician to look at it ? Or must the person be a professional to check the black box switch ?
  18. honestly i am deciding between samsung 55" smart tv or sony ...but let's wait for further promotions.
  19. Recently my 4 year old samsung LCD died, lucky got warranty and Best Denki return me 40% of the purchase price with vouchers..still shopping around. Now 3 weeks without TV program ..hmmm ..come back home, sometimes nothing to do. House so quiet. But from FS perspective, a) I've peace. No loud sounds, distractions, etc b) kids no longer watch tv, i also spend more time with them, doing reading with them together. c) no electricity generated from tv for sure, which means lesser with bill Now i understand why fs master said "no tv in the room, as it distracts, etc". But nevertheless, life cannot go without tv. Therefore will take my time to shop. Maybe wait till christmas or buy nearer during cny next year. i really enjoy the peace.
  20. no wonder people said geylang room also got mirror ..small also become big ... hahaha
  21. wah, very interesting... i download the apps and move around the house. Can tell me what each direction means anything ? Eg NW = represents career ? other directions leh ?
  22. I never like to have false partition, as it block here or there - from physical layout perspective. I want guests to come my place and say "wah, si bei tua keng ah". Unless it is pillar, then no choice
  23. actually true. If anyone wants sincere seller, all the buyer need is to have the right amount or more $$$ ..the seller definitely become trufully sincere.
  24. Chinatown MRT. The building beside OG (can't remember the builing name), but NOT people park complex building. This building - 3rd floor. House of Puha besides foot reflex shop. One hundred plus likely to be Type B, unless you get those super small Type A grade. This shop is air-con, and the glass door have visa / master card logo. Ask for cert and you know what i mean
  25. Buy from auction. hammer down - means no parties can back out
