Day 10 - Toilet Tiling work bathroom floor tiles wip... progress is getting slower... not sure of they can complete the masorny work by the scheduled date of 15-dec-10 before plastering kicks in. fingers cross. shower area tiles compartment are done. but each tile panel bottom have rough bottom surface. hence, i suggested to the work to put 2 tiles together so that it will be smooth surfaces from top and bottom for each pannel. this is how each panel looks like after the suggestion. but now another problem... i dun like the joining line in between... argh... asking them to use the plastic corner trim to paste across. will see the outcome tmr. =) ossify, if u r reading this. please advise how u did for thattrader. i cannot stand the sight of rought tile surface. =p

I asked my ID, wife and twin brother to check the windows work over the past few days. They said i am over-reacting. hahaha.. i guess probably I am loaded with reno anxiety. Anyway, alex and Vincent came over to explain the windiows to me personally. Really appreciate their kind efforts to explain the windows queries I have. Some photos of the windows to share: Living room – Casement Windows X6 Study room – Casement Windows X3 Common bathroom Bedroom 2 – Casement Windows X4 Bedroom 3 – Sliding Windows X4 Overall, I’m still very satisfied with the windows workmanship. Next stage is choosing grilles… Can advise me which one to go for? =)

yo sgnick bro, wanna check with u on alex's installed windows. mine were installed everything except grilles yesterday. 1. Casement handles a bit skinny thin and frenzy. Machiam can break it when used too much force on them. 2. Alex told me that casement handles got no lock one. But i remembered fromone thread that owner requested lock set for all casement handles. -_-! 3. Sliding windows can shake when i sldie them. I could also lift up the windows a bit from the sliding track, and ccould feel that they are not tighly fit in. Wanna check if yours have any problems like that? -
good job from alex and team!

Day 8 - Masorny Work Windows all done up. Wanna check with you guys how u guys check on the windows workmanship. For my case, i noted the following: 1. Casement handles a bit skinny thin and frenzy. Machiam can break it when used too much force on them. 2. Sliding windows can shake when i sldie them. I could also lift up the windows a bit from the sliding track, and ccould feel that they are not tighly fit in. 3. I requested for casement handles with lock. But Alex told me that casement handles don't come with locks one. But i remembered from one thread that owner requested locks for all casement handles and Alex agreed. 4. I also noted the window guy chipped off a palm size of my concrete wall off the living room window area. should i ask them to plaster back the hole, or leave it to my ID's guys to seal up when they do whole house plastering?

seems like that are quite a few ppl here who engaged SDS for their house reno. but i didn't see a single t-blog except my own. really hope to see more SDS customers posting their end products to share share. for me, i engaged SDS for my 5-room hdb resale. reno is currently at tiling stage. so far so good. fingers crossed. how bout u guys? who were the reno experience with SDS IDs? -
whhaha... yea, i remember ur post about carrying back the super heavy glass. i just came back from ikea. haha.. been visitng ikea queensway almost everyday in a week. cause my office nearby only. i saw ur BRODER system there in a retail shop layout. really industrial looking, suits ur house. i am looking at the STOLMENT one. I tried closing the drawer too and the whole system shacked and vibrate. i asked the ikea person, she said the drawer doesn't come with any soft closing. ikea only has cabinet soft closing. dunno why neubie mentioned there is soft closing in his ikea STOLMENT.

wolflet, congrats for the successful completion of ur reno. ur place looks fantastic. no wonder ur id wanna post it for future reference. check with u on ur ceiling work @ living room. i saw u have a ceiling fan between the panels of l-box c/w cove light. I wanted to do this design, but my id said the cove lighting wont do much here because too close to the ceiling fan. he said this arrangement will result in flickering light when the fan is on. secondly, he said that the dirt n dust inside the cove light holder will be blown all over the living room when the fan is on. therefore, we decided to do only l-box. nonetheless, how's ur experience so far? i still have a chance to amend my l-box to come with cove light!!! kekeke for ur master bathroom, ur ceiling light is that $16.90 one from ikea right? is it good? i am thinking of getting that for both my bathrooms. =)
